Hmmm
Had to immediately do a google search since I have not read even one of the nine books regarding this seemingly verbose fellow.
So. Ahem. (channeling mils here!) There was a concert.
Nekkid is doing an awesome job taking us through the concert song by song. I will try to create the forest for her trees, a frame for her pictures.
So the lights went up on the most perfect set anyone could imagine: Monte to the left with a glittery guitar, Tommy on the right with a glittery guitar strap, and Adam in the middle being almost more gorgeous than we can stand! A very, very striking tableau, and Adam knew it and struck the pose, with his back to us, teasing, until his fierce spin to face us for FYE. Earlier, luval had thought she saw Adam behind the scenes and said that if he came out in a gray t-shirt, she had really seen him. I didn’t really picture him coming onstage in a gray t-shirt, not at this concert after such a long hiatus, but it is entirely possible that luval saw him and he then dressed for the concert. Black leather Skingraft vest with wide cap shoulders, looking vaguely extra-terrestrial; black tank top, deep neckline, silver feather necklace, black pants neither too tight nor too loose, and new medges with a spiral zipper going up his legs that made him extra tall in the opening tableau – and clearly he meant it to be a theatrical tableau! When I saw that, I was reassured about the rest of the concert – this isn’t glamnation, there are no dancers, but it will NOT be just Adam wandering around the stage singing. He put some thought into this and he is going to put on a show for us! YES!
The crowd is berserk. We have missed him so much! And he has missed us, and it shows in every smile and move and laugh – so many laughs, Adam is loving this as much as we are! And the canned patter of GlamNation is gone, replaced with warm and happy conversation with us – he asks us what we have been doing and I almost hear an undercurrent question that we have already answered and he doesn’t need to ask: “Did you miss me?” but he needs to know this and we have reassured him a hundred times over in the first 30 seconds! He asks us if we have had a good year – and tells us in a deep and throaty voice that he has had a very good year and we explode with happiness to celebrate his success with him!
And I think that it hasn’t been a year, it has been little more than six months since the California concerts, I wonder if he has missed the stage so much that it has genuinely seemed like a year to him. Perhaps it did.
Ooooh, new set list! I love this! So many peeps in the audience have never heard FYE live, and lots of peeps have been expressing the dream of hearing PUU live, or Loaded Smile. Maybe? And the dream of a new song…with a new set list, this seems more possible. But honestly, we don’t even care what he sings, what he performs, we just want Adam to be on the stage with us and he is right where we want him to be, and where he obviously wants to be, too.
And Monte and Tommy – they are definitely sharing the joy. Monte is always less animated than Tommy, he has a more reserved nature… but he is clearly delighted to be there and he and Adam share looks and joy and are a team working together seamlessly. Tommy is all over the stage, almost dancing while he plays, big smiles and lots of shared joyous glances with Adam! If anyone is thinking Tommy is in any way pouting over Sauli – this performance cleared that up once and for all. There was so much overt affection between Tommy and Adam, playful interactions, shared laughs and smiles – two men who are obviously very close and very comfortable in their different sexuality and not afraid to demonstrate that affection.
The young woman across the aisle, who has never seen Adam live – I look over to see her response – she gives me the biggest smile her face is capable of without serious physical damage! She is dancing, she is screaming, she is singing along…I am so happy for her! And for everyone who is here with us – I love every single one of the peeps in the audience and I am so grateful to be here and even more grateful to be able to share the concert with “us”, to be surrounded by nekkid and ceddies and ron and luval and adamized and cher and jlurk and everyone else from this blog (I can’t name everyone! and eywflyer and TLKC and riskylady and Northern Spirit and Little Dutchess and and !!!) who has been moved to gather in Ste Agathe!
The screaming and the singing along…suddenly I realize that I love it, even when we can barely hear Adam over our din! This is new for me – I am a sit and listen kind of peep – but I suddenly realize that we have to play our roles, we need to deliver our lines, Adam needs us to give him his cue, and we are actually a part of the performance for him and for each other. I “get” it!
Uh, oh. A big green bra. WTF? Sigh. We really need to get past that, peeps. This ain’t the idol tour. But what is this? A man’s thong, in tasteful black and gray, tossed onto the stage! Adam is amused, stretches it out to the side of his face, and tosses it back into the audience.
Hmmm…there is definitely some choreography here. The guys have been practicing and seem to have their moves down – so smooth, so organic.
At one point, Adam announces that he has a treat for us. Gasps! OMG! A musical gift! Some peeps call out PUU! Others just squee inarticulately! We hold our breath…will it be new music? It is…and Adam knew exactly where to put it. Not at the end – not at the beginning – in the middle, just before an exit from the stage for him to recover from the excitement of trying out this new song on us, and for us to absorb it before we are thrown back into familiar territory.
We flove it. We are melted. We think about Sauli, about how he must feel, seeing and hearing his lover singing this on the stage in front of him. We listen (well, we don’t know the words, so we can’t sing along lol) – there are the requisite ill-timed screams, like the rapture that overcomes peeps at an old-time Christian revival meeting, but overall we give Adam what he needs from us for this first performance of a song that clearly holds a deep meaning for him. And then (of course) some chick calls out “marry me, Adam” and we collectively roll our eyes and groan inwardly and then put her silliness out of our minds, chuckling over what Sauli must think! And Adam finishes the song and … leaves the stage! No! Adam don’t leave us! Lots of looks at watches – this isn’t all? We don’t know how long the concert will be but surely this can’t be it? No, we reassure each other, lots of songs still to do. Monte and Tommy reassure us, too, playing the familiar “Erotica” from glamnation and suddenly I realize that even though Adam gets a break, his musicians never stop.
I haven’t mentioned Isaac. To be honest, I haven’t seen him. He is there…but all I see are Adam and Monte and Tommy. He is, however, an awesome drummer and we met him when Adam introduced the band.
(To be continued.)
Written by Laurence Sterne in 1760 or so. Very fun read. Bestseller in its day and the creation of what became known as “shandy-ism”. I’ll send you my copy, if you like, and have another excuse to visit with you to retrieve it!
Kradamour…genius….nkd genius too. I am living over and over every second of Ste. Agathe. In fact I listened to every video from there earlier this evening. Seems like yesterday.
Now waiting to hear more from Ron (no pressure!) and anyone else who may like to contribute.
Kradamour, just ahhhhhhh!
Beautiful!
Can’t decide if Adam “fixed” us or “broke” us at Ste. Agathe. He gave us what we wanted, but he left us wanting more. I think we’re all irreversibly touched.
I’m loving the recaps. They put me right back there again.
(curtsies) thank you!
It is so much fun to sit and think about the recap…relive the concert…sharing with others makes it more real and keeps it from fading too quickly! Hard to start this chapter, after nekkid wrote so much and so well – but after I got away from the idea of doing a play-by-play of the individual songs it started to flow. I am kind of dreading getting to the end of my recap – if I ever do!
Okay, nekkid, the ball is back in your court.
And everyone else, too, please share your memories and thoughts!
Some beautiful pics from Ste Agathe put into a montage backed by “My Chemical Romance”:

Hi, ceddies! Haven’t seen you for a while, hope RL isn’t being too hard on you.
I’m preparing the next part of the concert recap. SFW, Fever, WLL, WWFM and PH! I was just reviewing the videos, these may end up getting me sent back to the corner! JS
Phew, all I can say is ENCORE; ENCORE; to Kradamour and nkd. Spectacular job….thank you and keep it coming….
Love the little vid you posted above Kradamour. Nice having some of my favorite pictures displayed with a good song.
Crap, is Adam keeping us awake all night? I haven’t slept more than 30 minutes since around 11 p.m. CST. I got up finally and shampooed my hair around 3:30. Now I get here to find several of you up at odd hours. Only one common denominator that I am aware of…Adam.
Double crap….I just missed you and luval and went ahead and got some work done away from the computer. Ceddies, you’ve got mail.
Thanks for all the recaps everyone! So fun to read and experience the concert through your words.
Our hero lambobsessed has created an improved version of Outlaws of Love. It’s beautiful:

Thank you for the vid, cwm! I had emailed her after the concert and asked her please to do this, and probably a thousand other peeps did the same – she said it would take a while, though – it is definitely worth the wait!
Great Recaps everyone…
I had a slightly different take on IIHY. I actually liked it more in St. Agathe than I have liked it during GN shows. For me, it always signaled the end of the concert and so I guess I’ve always had conflicted feelings towards it. I love the song, the beat and the message and hearing it in the middle of a show made me appreciate the song more.
cgesq, I definitely was not disappointed in IIHY in Ste Agathe. I loved this performance. The vocals were unbelievable! It was just different for me.
I enjoy hearing everyone’s varied reactions to the concert.
While waiting for continuing recaps or new ones I forgot to mention I left my signature rhinestone behind the mirror at the Spa Watel. And Kradamour witnessed this! Not too many people have. Yes, I know Adam says he’s over glitter but I think rhinestones are classic. One or two here and there. I even have one on the “eye” of my eye of horus necklace. People seem to notice this more than the necklaces themselves (I have infinity too). I change the color now and then from blue to green to red, purple…any color I can find a rhinestone in at the crafts store.
Now the peace symbol will be a challenge but I can handle it! First I have to buy it. Waiting. lol
Hi luval. I forgot that you were the peep who leaves their “mark” behind. One rhinestone is a heck of alot easier to clean than glitter which lasts forever. I love Adam’s peacock pin he wore on the suit for Brooke’s wedding. I believe he will always have some type of adornement. I also believe that if you like rhinestone’s and glitter there is no reason to stop using them.
Clouds look very ominous. Will keep everyone posted.
adamized… talked a little bit abut the brooch on the August chat.
luval, I love that you leave a rhinestone behind!
I was noticing how Adam’s sweat was glistening in the pics and videos of this concert. He wasn’t wearing any glitter, but I swear it must still be coming out of his pores, leftover from GN!
Hi nkd….maybe Adam has edible glitter in his diet. I’ve seen this on the Food Channel.
.
Thanks to cwm for posting this link, incredible editing job by lambobsessed! I added it to the lists of OOL videos in the main post.
It’s Sunday morning. Am watching the storm situation on tv. Seems as though the worst is electrical power down due to trees falling on wires.
Anyway, I was just thinking about this trip and trips to see Adam in the past. One of my favorite “feelings” was jumping in the car either driving to the venue or heading out to the airport. My luggage was packed and ready, waved goodbye to the house and headed down the road to see Adam!!! All my journeys have been so much fun leading up to the icing on the cake. And meeting all of you at Ste. Agathe has been the best so far.
Well, being as how this is the one-month anniversary of our post-Ste. Agathe-concert NoH8 fotos, I thought I would write a little post-cap of that event and the subsequent adventure our intrepid little group went through. (Bear with me, this may not be up to kradamour-standard, but since we didn’t have the good fortune to have her with us, I’ll do my best.)
The morning after the concert, after our nice breakfast at the SpaWatel, we set off in a convoy of two vehicles for our suite-hotel near the airport in Montreal. Car #1 was jlurksacto’s, with passengers nkd and her lovely daughter and ladybugs. I say car #1 because the previously dawdling jlurksacto was suddenly overcome by Andretti-itis and rocketed down the highway ahead of us. Car #2 was ours, with cher driving and passengers me, floridagirl and margie32127; cher entertained us with a nonstop monologue about how jlurksacto was driving too fast and she didn’t like to drive fast in a strange car, or even in a familiar car in a foreign country.
After dropping nkd and Calli at the airport and saying fond goodbyes, we proceeded to our mysteriously incognito hotel, identified only by its street number. It was nice inside, tho, except no elevators and jlurksacto’s and cher, floridagirl and margie32127’s rooms were on the third floor. Jlurksacto very kindly made several trips up with the luggage, and needed no further exercise for at least a week.
We proceeded back to the airport in both cars, to pick up Suz526 and tchrs and go visit Montreal’s Chinatown. It’s really lively and busy, with many many restaurants, but we diced on a buffet for lunch. The place was ENORMOUS, with at least a hundred or more choices, every kind of meat, seafood, rice, vegetable and variations that you could imagine. Suz, tchrs, jlurksacto and I believe one more were missing. They suddenly erupted on the scene with – wait for it – a bundle of FOXTAILS like the “duster” Adam wore in Ste. Agathe, one for each of us. They asked, no DEMANDED, that we wear them for the rest of the day and night (also during the NoH8 foto) and we
spinelesslygraciously complied. After a light lunch (much regretted later due to the abundance and quality of what we could have devoured) we went back to our hotel to change into our white shirts and then raced in convoy again back to downtown Montreal for our NoH8 appointment. The NoH8 group was set up in the beautiful W Hotel, and was very very busy, I’m happy to say. There were at least 20 people milling around getting appliqued, and a line of adorabe boys also waiting outside the studio. We were appliqued and then ushered into the studio where the cute fotographer took many shots and pronounced us done. We then went downstairs to a bar that we think Adam was fotographed in or near, and had wine and cocktails to pass some time before our evening meal at the nearby rotating restaurant on top of the Delta Centre-Ville Montreal. It was about two blocks from the W, so we just strolled over.
The restaurant is very nice, a buffet again, with different stations spread around the center of the round room. The food was OK, though many of us were thinking longingly about the Chinese buffet we had skimped on earlier, saving room for dinner. The view however was really stunning, and Montreal is a beautiful city anyway, with bridges and waterways, marinas, the amusement park and arena all lit up. We now noticed, disturbingly, that bumper-to-bumper brakelights were stopped as far as the eye could see on the two expressways that led to the airport. And.I.do.mean.stopped.not.moving.at.all. Apparently someone had misjudged the fact that it was Saturday night, the city was full of tourists and locals attending a HUGE music festival (Eminem, Elton John, etc.), and both expressways were paralyzed due to road construction LOLOL. (I saw headlines in the newspapers and TV news reports at the airport on Sunday expressing outrage about it.) Anyway, resigned to a two-hour drive back to the airport and our hotel, we lingered over dessert and coffee and finally meandered to the elevators to leave. When we arrived on the bottom floor, our way in was no longer the way out, so we wandered around the building until we finally found an open door, and exited onto a square that was totally unfamiliar. We started walking toward where we thought the W Hotel was, as that was our point of reference. After about a block and a half, we looked behind us and ……emptiness! Cher, Suz, tchrs and floridagirl had vanished. It was just jlurksacto, ladybugs, margie32127 and me. WTF???? The last time we saw them, tchrs was taking pictures in the elevator, and we confidently thought they had followed us out of the building. They, on the other hand, didn’t notice us receding into the distance…..
Margie32127 was increasingly convinced we were lost, and the rest of us were convinced cher and her group was lost. NONE OF US KNEW where the W Hotel was (and by association, our parking lot).
Standing on a corner, jlurksacto (very tall) spotted the W. I then called cher, who confirmed that they were lost and had come out a different exit. We agreed they would walk around the block until they spotted the W Hotel sign, which was actually quite visible from the Delta. All of us walked toward it, and we finally met up. This whole exercise took at least 35 to 40 minutes.
Now, no one could agree where our parking lot was. We set off down a side street for about 3 blocks. We entered one lot, but our cars were not there. We turned left, passed a fire station, asked directions to any – ANY – more parking lots in the vicinity, to which they replied they couldn’t remember, but they thought there were some on the next street over. Cher kept mentioning a building with pretty colored lights, which we didn’t see. We walked to the next street over, turned left again, and it turns out there are MANY MANY park-and-display lots in Montreal that are almost identical. Curse these damn conscientious Canadian city planners! Kept walking, entering two more lots, but our clickers went unrequited. Finally, the THIRD LOT GAVE UP THE CARS!!! By this time, Suz was on a payphone calling for a taxi LOL. As we neared the cars, cher pointed out the “building with the pretty lights,” which was actually a building with glass siding of several colors lol.
By now, at least an hour and a half had gone by and it was quite late. Miraculously, most of the traffic jam had cleared and,
deludingcongratulating ourselves on our skillful delaying strategy, we drove back to our hotel, dropping Suz and tchrs at the airport where they were staying. On our way back to the hotel, cher received a surprise call from cgesq asking how to get to the hotel (that cher thought cgesq had cancelled) and while maneuvering in traffic, she worked her magic, called the hotel – it was now quite late – and re-arranged the room, then told cgesq to go ahead.
It’s still not over. Ladybugs and I had margie32127 (or was it floridagirl, can’t remember now) with us, who was staying in the room with cher, but we thought the other car hadn’t arrived yet so we waited in our room for them. Finally, after about half an hour I received a call from cher, asking where she was. Here with us, I said, waiting for you.
But, we’re here, she said, we’ve been here all along waiting for you……
Miraculously, we all managed to get ourselves to our respective flights home the next morning, and jlurksacto departed on his 7,000 mile odyssey.
Can’t wait to do it all over again!
riskylady, I really enjoyed your story. Having spent some time with this group, I laughed all the way through it! Thank you so much for sharing this. I love and miss you all! I’m so disappointed that I didn’t plan better to spend that extra day in Montreal.
Do not, repeat, DO NOT leave cars in parking lots without noticing
and writing down the nearest cross streets. Must admit tho, I don’t
think I have ever laughed harder or had a better time in our looking/wondering
around downtown Montreal looking for the lost cars (we weren’t lost!).
Weather was great, everyone was friendly, and being a Sat night, a lot
of people were out walking. We also walked off any weight gained from
the two excellent buffets.
Riskylady… You have posted what is part of the fun of the whole AFL experience. What a hoot! Don’t mean to be chuckling but I totally understand what you went through. The voyages we’ve taken revolve around getting lost, food, great people, frustration, the concert… Put them all together and it’s a stew of memorable fun! Like you said, looking forward to doing it again.
Am at work right now but am going to re-read (like I do all the recaps…several times!)
Yes, guys, tks – it was so much fun. We probably would have made much faster progress finding the cars, had we not laughed so much as jlurksacto mentioned!
I wish I knew how to upload them – tchrs documented the car search with two fotos, one shows cher and jlurksacto pointing determinedly in different directions, and the other shows the clueless firemen pointing too, and lastly, Suz on the payphone.
Forgot to mention that TLKC, ovationimpact, NorthernStar, cgesq(I might be forgetting someone or two) joined us at the NoH8 shoot and drinks and dinner afterward.
Riskylady,
Great post-cap!!
Are you serious when you write that Cher had cancelled the reservation?? If you only knew how many times Ovation Impact and I said to ourselves when we were driving the hour plus convoluted path to find this God-forsaken hotel “to hell with it, we will just grab the first hotel we find”….but then we said that Cher had paid for the room, and everybody was expecting us!!!
In the long run, I’m glad we found all of you. It was a great last night together.
Hope we get to do it all again SOON!!!!!!!!
riskylady Thanks so much for the fun recap.
Unfortunately I can totally emphasize since I have not only lost my car several times, I once lost a group of folks at a laundramat in a strange city. Dropped them off and then couldn’t remember where it was. Boy, were they ever upset when I finally found them hours later.
luval
well said.
Haha, cgesq, I think so! I vaguely remember she mentioned thinking you had decided to begin your drive home instead of spending the night….
Actually, I see a pattern developing about the cars, because I just remembered that as we were leaving the concert in the downpour and planning to walk back to the hotel, Lulu and her companion generously offered to drive us there. Just that we all ended up wandering the side streets because THEY COULDN’T FIND THEIR CAR EITHER LOL! First, they thought it had been towed, but then decided it was on the next street over, and so on, still in the downpour and trying to catch glimpses of the gorgeous fireworks. Once we (me, cher and ladybugs, “soaked to the bone” and not in the good way in Adam’s song) poured ourselves into the car, we went to McDonald’s where cher purchased a sumptuous feast to take back to the hotel, while Lulu and companion argued hilariously over how many chicken nuggest should suffice.
It’s very hard to blush and post at the same time, but I am doing it!
You did yourself proud, riskylady, I was riveted to your story! So many nice details and descriptios – so easy to put myself into your picture! You’re a terrific story-teller, and now that we know what you can do we expect long recaps for each concert you attend!
Oh my! I’ve been MIA for most of August due to all sorts of RL stuff and upon returning here now and finally catching up, I need to mention that I thoroughly enjoyed going back and reading all the terrific stories that are here in this thread regarding the concert trip. I feel that there is nothing more that I can say as you’ve said it all! (Helps that I’m so late on this too!) For everyone who posted, you did a fantastic job in capturing the concert and all of our wonderful adventures before and after it. And believe me, there were many! It was so awesome!!! You are all so awesome!!!
To everyone here, you are truly a special group of individuals. Everyone here has come together and bonded with such a wonderful friendship and to think, it all started due to Adam. I am just thrilled to be a part of it! I met some of you during GNT and then this time in Quebec and I hope to meet more of you with the next tour!
And just adding my two cents, he looked damn hot at that concert. Especially once the rain fell. (yes, I’m a shallow fangirl at times!!!)
You people actually got to eat? We had our breakfast, thank goodness for that, cuz we didn’t get anything else on concert day! After our failed trip to Subway, we returned to the hotel, dining room closed, and only had the vending machine and my stash of snacks in my tote. C and I had goldfish, animal crackers, and potato sticks, washed down with ginger ale! YUUUUMMMM!
I wish I had known about the restaurant down the rabbit hole!
But, we survived. I think C had chips at the venue. Then we were totally drenched at the end of the night, but what a great night it was!!!!!!
Yes he did!
And yes you are! I love it!
Beautifully said, floridagirl. ITA
Awww, thank you, kradamour.
Nkd, it would have been great to have you and everyone else along, for that matter. Although, I’m wondering if McDonald’s is much higher on the nutrition factor than goldfish, animal crackers and potato sticks lol!
And floridagirl , your two cents are a major part of the story – the hotness factor was through the roof! And the SMILES, the beautiful heart-melting SMILES, so many more than any other concert that I remember!
The smiles! I think that may be the prevailing remembrance of this concert for me. Those were some incredible warm genuine happy gorgeous smiles! Definitely heart warming!
dot, dot, dot –
jlurk, does your post belong in the September thread? I’m enjoying following the Burning Man this year and actually learning about it. I hope that there will be more posts and the Sept thread would be better for those posts.
thanks for link!
Thot I was there – Thanks Krad – moved.
Thanks for the stories and remembrances everyone. Riskylady, I loved your story of losing the car! Haven’t we all been there at one point or another, but somehow you and the gang seemed to take losing a car to a whole ‘nother level!
I do have 2 questions for those of you who were at the concert:
First, was only Purple Haze the encore, or were WWFM and WLL the first encore, and then Purple Haze the second encore? From watching the videos and reading eywflyer’s set list above, it seems that only Purple Haze was an encore, but I thought I remembered someone saying somewhere upthread that Adam left the stage, then came back to sing WWFM and WLL, then left again, then came back out again to sing Purple Haze. Can someone clarify, please? It’s not really important, I’m just curious.
Second, someone on comments on the Home Planet said that Adam said additional things about his new album at the concert in Ste. Agathe that did not get captured on the videos on YouTube. I’ve watched all of Suz526’s videos, and it looks to me like she got all of the between-song banter, and the only thing Adam says about his new album is right before OOL. Is this person correct that Adam said more about his album than that, or not? If so, what did he say?
Also, ahem, nekkid, I am
not sopatiently waiting for the rest of your recap! You’ve taken us up through Chapter 3.3, but left off after OOL. On 8/25, you said that you were working on your recap of the rest of the show, but… where is it?? Bated breath and all…cwm…to answer your questions. Adam did not leave the stage before WLL and WWFM. Or did he leave after WLL, then come back out for WWFM? I don’t think so but it’s hazy! He said his goodbyes after WWFM and we were not sure if he was coming back out. But we didn’t leave, why, we were already completely soaked! Then he returned for PH.
Suz captured all of the banter. He took his seat on the stool and said he had a little treat for us…that was all he talked about the new album. Unless I was in a complete daze and missed something, but I don’t think I would forget such an important detail! (Lack of nutrition and all!)
Adam did leave the stage after OOL but the band remained onstage playing.
Thanks for answering my questions, nekkid! That’s what I had thought.
Now…tap tap tap… where is the rest of that recap of yours??
nkd…I’m in a fog about the end of the concert. I just remember the storm…people in the back started leaving thinking the show was over but all of a sudden the lights came on, the band and Adam came back and there was Purple Haze! I wonder if they would have done more had there not been the rain. I think so. Adam was so thankful we stayed (many that were leaving returned), and rewarded us with this encore.
…..
I agree, luval. Adam was having such a wonderful time, and clearly didn’t want to leave us.
Remember in Paris when he was trying to decide what to do for an encore? and made it clear that he wanted to do more for us because we had been such a wonderful audience and he was feeling it.
I think that he and the band would have stayed and performed quite a bit longer in Ste Agathe. and my total fantasy is that the crowd would have started to chant “Pick You UP!” and he would have finally given in!
