Am going to change the sign on my car to “tour 2014/15” just in case.
I didn’t know that Rob Cavallo was chairman at Warner Bros.
He produced not only Time for Miracles, but also Music Again, Soaked, and Sure Fire Winners.
Thanks glambotgram for that suggestion. I’m ALL for it if you ALL are! I would suggest that any discussion of the concert of the week stays in the original thread. It would just be better to keep posts about former events out of the monthly threads that are for general posts. What I will do is set the “concert of the week” as an upcoming show/event that will change every week. I’ll include a link to the previous thread that can be accessed at the top right under the “Upcoming Shows/Events” heading.
So let’s start tomorrow with the first show in Chicago and see how that goes!
nkd. I didn’t know either until I wiki’d him
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rob_Cavallo
Good idea, AL. Videos, gifs and other things keep popping up on twitter.
I knew that I remembered an old interview that Lyndsey Parker did with Rob Cavallo where they talked about Adam and I just did a little google search and found it! From the interview: “Adam has a limitless range and can sing every note on the guitar from the lowest to the highest, which is a very very unusual thing, and he is actually the greatest, nicest guy, comes in, just wants to do a great job, is really fun to hang out with…”
You can listen to the rest. It is from Oct 13, 2009 and nothing has changed. Rob was one of the first bigwigs in the industry to fall under Adam’s spell.

The has been updated again over night. I use it as a reference for almost all videos.

So if Rob Cavallo is the chairman of Warner Bros Records it makes lots of sense that Adam would sign with them. There is no question but that he would be appreciated there.
Great interview, rs. I remember that one now.
People have been asking Brian for the selfie stick moment at the end.
These links were under the RS story about Rob Cavallo, but led nowhere.

luval … I went back to check the concert threads for the arena crowd photos.
That one is from Sydney 2, August 27, 2014.
Impressive!!!

LOL!
He cracks me up with that “JETLAG” picture.
He must really be feeling it!
It IS a small world
. While I was in Toronto yesterday visiting and dining with some of the Toronto Glamberts, my husband was at his high school reunion nearby. He saw a lady whom he didn’t recognize (small wonder as they were there to celebrate 5 decades since graduating
) and introduced himself.
Turns out that she was a cousin of the host and just visiting from NZ. In chatting, he mentioned that even in New York for the recent Queen + Adam Lambert concert there were a couple of ladies who’d travelled all the way from New Zealand and she excitedly said that that concert had even come to her hometown of Auckland recently and that it was the biggest band to ever come there and she was there! She added that it was a fantastic show – best she’d ever seen and that the new singer was amazing.
Cool eh?
It made me realize again, how much this concert tour meant to Brian and Roger. It wasn’t about making money, it was about reaching out to their steadfast fans and even playing in smaller venues in remote areas that most other acts wouldn’t bother to venture to. Several of the venues in Western Canada are similarly small due to small populations, yet they went there too because there are loyal rock fans out there who love them and would be simply thrilled to hear them again, ‘live’.
Aw angelowal, what a great story! Was your husband at the Toronto or New York show?
angelowal Waving arms from out here in the wild west –
Love your comment, but I have to stand up for the boonies – our venues aren’t that small! Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, same size as ACC in TO; Winnipeg and Saskatoon, 16,000. I think Saskatoon might have been the smallest city on the entire tour- 225,000 but they managed to fill the arena!Plus Vancouver, 2 million, Calgary, Edmonton well over 1 million, Wpg. 800,000.
luval, for your consideration:
Auckland #1, excellent sound and great close up view and applause at end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbqGj8gWC3c&list=UU4-_qTveagi3aT9XjBd5z2g
And this, my fave TSMGO, great performance and THE CROWD, in thrall: http://youtu.be/weJ2q5HgxXs
Thanks, riskylady. Am adding them to my list!
eta: Forgot about TSMGO! Perfect addition.
Well, I think Auckland 1 WWTLF is now at the top of my list. This is going to be hard!!
Hi there, rs, my husband didn’t join me at any of the Queen concerts, he was just sharing my experiences in NYC with the NZ lady. He’s not actually much of a fan of Adam, but he has a passion for golf, thus he is happy to see me indulging in my ‘hobby’ – tit-for-tat, so to speak
.
Oh, calgary, it was Winnipeg and Saskatoon to which I was referring when I mentioned some small western Canadian venues. I was surprised when Queen decided to go there and was so gratified to see that those arenas almost sold out. Please don’t think I’m one of ‘those’ Toronto people who thinks that they’re the Centre of the Universe, LOL – I’m in little Hamilton which is about 40K from that Big City
.
And…..little Hamilton beat Toronto last week at the annual Labour Day CFL Classic, so all is right with the world….until next September anyway, haha!
Thanks AL. I never watched Chicago on YouTube so I am looking forward to it, especially with Auckland fresh in the ears so to speak.
This may have already been posted, but it occurs to me that Adam is the only out and out, completely gay man included in this list. Given the subject matter, and how nail polish on guys would have, at one time, automatically been assigned as a “gay” thing, this seems like a small step toward blurring some social boundaries, as in indicating they just don’t matter.
Well, maybe a very small step, but still…Plus, I just love that the others on the list are cool enough to do whatever the hell they want, no matter what their orientation…just like someone else we know
http://www.intouchweekly.com/posts/6-nail-polish-loving-guys-who-put-the-man-in-manicure-42630/photos/adam-lambert-54066
Go Ti-Cats! angelowal! I am glad you aren’t ‘one of those’, though being a Scot, I wouldn’t expect so! But back in my youth, when my job took me to TO and Montreal to deal with the investment community, boy oh boy, there were some folk who really disdained us westerners! And of course our then-premier put it so succinctly with his phrase that turned into a bumper sticker!
I was thinking the same thing tothebeat, partly because of the term ‘guys who put the “man” in manicure’, which made it sound macho. Little steps but in the right direction.
Thanks AL for adding our “concert of the week” up top. That will keep it really simple for everyone. You are the best!!!
Hope we ALL have fun with this.
Looking forward to more discussion and discoveries.
I am one of “those”, Calgary. In fact, a whole bunch of us on this site are “one of those”. IMHO the problem is stereotyping on both sides.
And on that note I shall adjourn.

Why I love him – such a great, goofy pic
TLKC I do believe that you misunderstand the gist of calgary’s and my reference to ‘one of those’ Torontonians – you see, there are ‘those’ Torontonians, and then there are the rest. I firmly believe that our group fits quite well into the latter category.

Aaawww, geez, I bet every city has “those” people!! It just depends on your perspective on who “those” people are!! LOLOL
For instance, I am from Milwaukee. A city very well known for beer, cheese, cheese heads, sausages, Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, breweries and everything German and Polish. We even have a statue of the Fonze, called the Bronze Fonze on the Riverwalk. Oh. And Gokey
.
Guess what? I don’t eat cheese, I absolutely do not eat sausages or bratwurst, I am not Polish or German, the vast majority of our breweries have been closed for years ( microbrews galore ), I rarely watched Happy Days or Laverne and Shirley, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a “cheese head”, I am not a Packer backer, I am embarrassed by the Bronze Fonze being a tourist attraction here,
I do enjoy the occasional beer though.
I’m not even gonna talk about Gokey. And his endless ads here for glasses. Billboards. Magazine inserts. UGH.
Well it happened to me too! I have read about posts totally disappearing and mine just did! angelowal, TLKC My missing post said that – that some TO folks may think that TO is TCOTU, but I can’t imagine anyone on this site being like that! BTW my hubby is from TO. Go Ti-Cats!
mils, when my younger son worked in Madison, Wisconsin he found the abundance of micro-breweries a sheer delight
. Somehow I can’t picture you wearing a ‘cheesehead’, but gawd, they are funny and I wish I had one
.
You’re so right, people are people regardless of where you live. There are rivalries, grudges, snobberies between neighbourhoods, cities, regions and provinces or states (even fandoms, lol). Most shouldn’t be taken too seriously……just as long as we all open our boiled eggs from the correct end
.
Well, now angelowal, what might the “correct end” be? I really have no idea, but would sure like to do the right thing,
LOLOL angel,
I just kinda crack my hard boiled eggs all over and make a mess out of the shell!!
Although I do get rather upset when people butter the wrong side of their toast.

Or stir their coffee in the wrong direction…
Oh angel, Madison..my alma mater. I looooove that city. It’s like the Portland of the Midwest. So hippy dippy trippy, so state capitol, so anything goes. We take the occasional day trip there just to go to the Farmer’s Market or art fairs. Nephews going to the UW, I am quite jelly that they are there all the time. Even though I did my 5 years ( yes, I did the 5 year plan ).
I hope your son enjoyed his time there. It’s quite a town!
I don’t think this was posted
http://www.cliip.net/20140907/0232/sally-open-letter-to-my-sister-glamberts
Ok, I’ve used half a loaf of bread – haven’t found the
right/wrong side. Sure glad I don’t add anything to coffee
so there is no worrying about stirring the wrong direction.
Think I’ll quit using anything on toast, problem solved.
There it was in front of us all this time but leave it to you dear mils to come up with the perfect nickname for angelowal!
Fortunately for us, not in the literal sense of that word, but in every other way … it’s a perfect fit!
Well, tothebeat, I believe that one should always open one’s egg from the convenient end, notwithstanding the fact that there are ‘big-endians’ and ‘little-endians’ out there who may dispute my beliefs
As for you mils, perhaps you should stick to fried eggs,
. And that toast thingy, tell me please, why does toast always fall butter-side down? It’s just not fair
.
My son loved his time in Madison and from your description, I can see why
. What a great place to spend your school years! He was on a computer-design contract to TREK Bicycle and came home at the end of it with a custom made titanium bicycle that I can pick up with ONE finger – amazing design and workmanship – yay for American manufacturing!
Yeah, ron, “I’m not dead yet!” Hahaha!
T’was so good to see you yesterday and I meant to mention how much I liked your new (?) black lace shirt. You were looking very well put-together
, but then, you are always so splendidly and meticulously groomed
.
jlurksacto,
.

I must have my head in the clouds, because I have no idea which is the correct end of the egg, the right side of the toast or the correct direction to stir coffee, I kind of stir it one way then the other.
But jlurks how do you crack your boiled eggs.
