No, rs, they didn’t attend any concerts and they kept telling everybody that, too; though they seemed to be checking out the odd video so that they could continue to proclaim that Adam stunk. They are the weirdest of creatures: obsessive non-fans. Beats the heck out of me why anyone would sign-on to a site every morning to say they can’t stand someone and call them names. The only weirder fans imho are the Glamberts who stick around there posting videos and taking the abuse.
There are some excellent online archives for this tour that are a “must see” for any future researcher/biographer of Queen but all of those archives are on sites with Adam’s name in them: adamtopia, adam 24 7, adamofficial, adamlambertlive
. Then there are groups like TALC, the Meaning of Adam Lambert ladies etc.
Queenonline offers nothing but a 6-month repetitious argument about whether Adam should be on the stage with Queen at all (which is probably what the spoilers were aiming for.)
The real problem is the moderator. Queen could have picked up a whole new set of Queen fans if he had reined in the violators of basic site decorum but he rarely restrained them and dropped in regularly to say that he didn’t support the collaboration.
Brian and Roger have picked up a lot of fans through this tour but their site utterly failed to capitalize on that.
I doubt that Brian and Roger go there at all. If they did, the moderator would have been given his walking papers a long time ago.
Thanks for the Home Planet gifs, asif. This tour provided a treasure chest of moves that we are going to re-visit many times during the long, winter wait for new music.
I am not worried about Adam’s next cd. Both of his cd’s to date have been amazing imho and he can be very proud of what he has done. His multi-genre sensibility and capability may leave us guessing about the creative direction but, if any of us don’t like it, it will be a matter of taste, not quality. The important thing is that it is coming and it will be to his standards.
Plus, as angelowel has said, Adam has so many more options than most entertainers. And he has a lot of connections and huge respect from industry insiders (extending far beyond Queen and Nile). He is also known for being good to work with. He will never be without work and he will always land on his feet. And he will ALWAYS have us.

luval, just a mere suggestion, but WWTLF to me is very lovely and romantic, more appealing to women IMHO. Don’t know your Doc of course, but maybe something more guy- centric, like TSMGO, SCC, AOBTD, IWIA, FBG, even KQ which is brilliant and seemed to really amuse the guys? j/s….

I have been pretty quiet for this tour but have been here every step of the way. You guys are so up on everything possible Adam I felt my 2 cents would just be repetitive. Now that it is over I don’t know what to do with myself, actually had a full night sleep last night for the first time since the tour started. Guess will sign up for some classes or something.
Adam was just perfect with Queen and will miss him so much, his cuteness, sexiness and that voice. 3rd era cannot be here soon enough.

riskylady..This doctor is very conservative. I have to focus on the voice. Baby steps with this guy. He would drop dead if he ever saw Killer Queen or anything with fringes.
Hate to say it but in the beginning when I first started traveling for GN I would get the “he’s gay” thing. He doesn’t do that anymore. The more I describe him…talented, kind, great family, charismatic, showman, intelligent, humorous,..on and on about my group here and our meet-ups, etc. the more he is intrigued. I mean all he does is work 18 hrs a day to pay for his house in the burbs with the wife & 2 perfect kids! (not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course).
He is interested somewhat in music. He went to see Journey at a performing arts center about 3 hrs from here. But he had free tickets with a meet & greet!
Anyway, I will ease my way into the “hot” stuff!
Will wait to see the reaction to WWTLF.
eta: I should add (since I’m all about the Hair) I always show him a new head shot of Adam, the most recent one from up top. He looks and continues working!haha But I don’t get eye rolls anymore so that’s a plus!

The main wonderings I have regarding Adam’s post-QAL career lies more in what happens after Adam’s new album gets attention and assuming his label and management establish tour dates….
The transition for Adam after having fronted one of the worlds’ most iconic, international, stadium-filling bands of all time…. with their premium level of playing, sound crew, production and touring budget…. What will we see in his adjustment? Who will he use for a band in his concerts? How will all that take shape and what will it look like?
Adam has conquered stage forums (sooo excited to see if he will own the Wembley stage, too) that few artists have…. via the royal rock machine that is Queen…. yet … he’s commanded each stage & venue and owned it has his own. And appearing very comfortable doing so… creating a formidable rock star presence & persona with Queen.
That having been said…. and I tread very carefully here, as I adore Tommy Ratliff and Ashley Dzerigian and admire their talent (The rest of the band has moved on to other contracted projects that I’m unsure that they could get out off)… but, I wonder if Adam has outgrown them now? He is proven capable & tracking a record now of such a huge stage presence with legendary band status… filling arenas in a huge way… Will he feel challenged & happy as an artist if he tours post QAL scale?
He is loyal to his own team, and has demonstrated that again & again…
(May be irrelevant as He was also quoted in prior interview as saying that he didn’t know of the era1 & 2 band members future availability as they may become involved in other contracted endeavors?)
On the other hand… Our boy LOVES to SING.
It seems to me that for Adam, singing… his artistic expression… is more vital to him than performing. He sings from his soul…. and knowing what that is like I can attest to how incredible that feels… joy-filled. Authentically “living” from a special place of your being, and – yes, even happy … to simply sing your heart, your message… whether its just in the shower… or to thousands of people who respond to your art.
So with that… In my opinion, I believe Adam will continue to experience a deep measure of peace & personal fulfillment from expressing himself artistically in a wide range of venues as he’s always done. From the small intimate setting – stripped down – or, scaled up with more elaborate settings … production scale simplified, or no expense spared.
And yet, I DO still wonder…
Deep within certain extraordinary people is a very special quality of “greatness” that longs to be translated on a progressively larger scale….
And for Adam, this has taken him all the way to the top; in terms of an international, legendary band with a huge following & global respect with massive, no-expense-spared scale of production. There is also the real-world order of business… financial obligations, the home & lifestyle that Adam wants to afford…
So… if Adam doesn’t have and his label does not present opportunity for his continued performance/entertainer development (also a very significant part of his desire as an artist) will he miss the immaculate playing and marquee level accompaniment of a band such as the likes of Queen behind him and with him on a regular touring schedule?
Just Musing . . . .
(and then again… he may not miss it for long, as QAL likely has more dates in the works! And with that thought in mind …. theoretically, Brian & Roger will not perform on this scale for very much longer. . . whereas, Adam is at the beginning cusp of his prime – both musically & in performance development.
So… what will the future & opportunity bring once Queen has truly hung up their guitars and drum sticks???)
As for Adam’s commercial success….
I believe his exposure has been significant commercially and will positively impact his record sales (I think he & Shosanna are infinitely smart to strike now on the “iron hot” of his exposure and capitalize now on the thrust of his overall positive reviews. Smart cookie Adam is to keep his writing fresh and on-going during QAL touring; which could ideally expedite production time for his 3rd album & optimize prime advantage of key timing.)
Regarding a more sensitive factor… There is also my wonderings at times about how Adam’s mass appeal and prospective radio play will be impacted, if at all, by his openness of his gay preferences during his performances & interviews.
I truly find his “nuts” jokes hilarious, well-timed, and endearingly goofy and witty….
… yet, would folks in broader audiences think so, and would they typecast him if he continues?
There are “out” artists doing relatively well today and getting great radio airplay.
Sam Smith is a good example. However, Sam may not alienate a broader straight audience as he doesn’t highlight his alternate sexuality in performance expression … although he is still openly gay.
I think our society, as a whole, is ready for artists’ alternate sexual orientations being a non-factor to wide commercial success…. but I’m still unsure how comfortable the larger audience is with open expression (in word, photos, lifestyle, etc.) of a gay artists’ sexuality & some details of how they live that out?
(On that note: Even straight artists expressing themselves with open sexuality doesn’t always appeal to the broader audience depending on the artist… and whether the sexuality in their art is considered beautiful & relateable or crass and distasteful….)
And so, among my musings related to Adam’s further career post QAL…. I wonder: What type of bearing and impact will Adam’s open sexual expressions have on his appeal to the masses? Assuming it has any bearing at all? (which it may not)
He has, after all, gained innumerous thousands more personal fans through his QAL alliance alone.
Adam makes his choice boldly to express what is authentic to himself.
And so, for whatever the potential or not for impact…. He is to be profoundly admired and commended. And I sincerely admire that quality about him…
with his endearing, spontaneous discourse and his absence of conformity.
I don’t ever want him to change – out of pressure – a single thing in that regard.
It is incredibly refreshing & deeply inspiring to me.
Of one thing I am sure…. The years to come will reveal fascinating development & exciting unfoldings for Adam.
I am So eager to see how Adam will utilize and disperse all he’s learned towards his own projects from his seasoned experience with Queen, along with all he’s gleaned through his years.
And I believe wholeheartedly that our Guy is going to shine with the transcendence & brilliance with which he was destined and created to shine.
Can hardly wait!!

Did I mention that I am having serious QAL withdrawal? Guess I could always watch vids.
Well since everyone, or most of us anyway are having QAL withdrawals, I have an idea to keep us busy til album 3 which I know we don’t really anticipate until next year.
We could redo the tour, one show or one city a week, 35 shows at one show a week would take us to the first week of May. If we did one city a week it would be a little shorter. So if we did this, we would start out with Chicago next week. Really take the time to immerse ourselves in the videos from there, flail, analyze, drool and talk about that show. We could find little gems we missed, moves we forgot about, nuances to his voice that he threw in.
We could either keep all discussion on the monthly thread or go back to the thread for the show being revisited.
Just a thought, let me know what you think. I know some of it went so fast that I was too busy to grasp it all.
Hi luval. For me the best WWTLF is still Kiev, probably becuse it was the first and had the element of surprise but also it is TV quality and the crowd is 2-300,000 strong, which will probably impress the heck out of your doctor friend.
FYI, I have sat beside friends who are watching Adam for the first time since Idol and seen their eyes glaze over during WWTLF, simply because it isn’t their type of music, so it might be a good idea to check the catalogue for a second song that is in your doctor’s favourite genre. Is he an Elvis fan on any level, possibly? The CLTCL might be a nice addition – the ushers went wild for this in Toronto. Also, it seems to be a song that casual fans know.
Your doctor doesn’t sound like a hard rock fan but, if so, then one of the earlier songs might work.
JMO, be like Adam was at his Idol audition: “Would you like to hear something else…?”
Your idea is a great one, glambotgram. Either way is good. The per concert approach would take us to May, which is probably about the time that a spring CD3 release would happen.
OTOH, the double concert cities often ended up with two very different shows and that makes for interesting comparisons.

RE: Adam’s band. He doesn’t have one right now. Everybody he has worked with so far is off doing all sorts of things with other artists and may or may not be able to join him when he start promoting his new music in the spring.
Thus far Adam has had two lead guitarists, two bass players, four keyboardists and at least four drummers. He cannot offer regular work to anyone at this point and prior band mates have to look after themselves; which is good experience for them and provides excellent cross-pollination opportunities for Adam if and when he re-connects with them.
Several have indicated loyalty and determined availability to him but, imho, if any of them gets an offer they can’t refuse, they will take it. Similarly, Adam’s tour with two of the best and most respected artists in the business may provide him with some collaborative offers that he will find hard to decline.
I hope to see Tommy and Rufus somewhere in the mix but I also hope that Adam will pick the best possible band he can get. We will have to wait and see.
ETA: IF Adam gets a Top 10 hit off the next cd and ends up touring arenas, I hope that he gets Spike to be his music director.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions for my doctor “friend”. I will watch every single one of them. glambotgram your suggestion is great.
So I was at my big grocery store this morning wearing my 2014 Queen shirt (not the VIP one…the one with the Queen icon on front, QUEEN & Adam Lambert dates on the back), when I hear this “I like your shirt”. I looked up and it was one of the employees, probably late 40’s early 50’s.So of course the flood gates are open and I went into the whole thing about them, the tour, etc etc. It was great finally talking to someone random. Never heard there was a tour. Knew who Adam was from Idol. He then said “nobody can replace Freddie”. I then jokingly said my line about then go buy a ticket to see Queen with Freddie and let me know how it is. We both laughed.
The group he followed was Genesis but kept up with most all rock groups. As far as Queen he liked “You’re My Best Friend”, of which I mentioned wasn’t sung on the tour…and Somebody to Love. YAY!!
I told him to youtube Queen and Adam Lambert, WWTLF (to hear Adam’s voice) and any QAL Somebody to Love. I think he’s going to do it.
When I left this guy I said “now about my shirt, did you see “Queen” on the back or did you just recognize the logo on the front.” He said the iconic logo. First person who ever said that to me. Usually they see the back.
So it was nice talking to someone out of the bubble. And he as I’m sure millions of others never knew there was a tour.
