Summer is almost over and so is the “Once In A Lifetime” tour. It has been a fantastic experience for Adam and Queen and for the many who were fortunate enough to see them live (and even for those who just saw them online). The concerts may be over soon but they live on in our memories and on Youtube (since our memories cannot always be relied upon). They will have to do for now as we wait for new music from Adam and possibly another tour in 2015. It will be here before we know it!

    I was tickled to see you guys enjoying that Jimmy Crack Corn vid. ‘Cuz actually that is MY video that I took at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD! cwm1224afl is my youtube channel.

    rs, mmm222 and M were right there with me at the edge of the B-stage that night. And wow what a night it was! Such a blast! I was so pleased that I got that video of him riffing on “All Your Love Tonight” because he was singing right to us when he broke into “Jimmy Crack Corn”. teehee. Smile

    Shana Tova, A Good Year, to all my lovely ALLers. I never thought of it before, but the greetings here are for “Happy Holidays” but for a “Good Year”. I think that makes a lot of sense. Autumn really is a time of renewal and reawakening. After a long hot (in more ways than one!) summer we wait for the rains to come to replenish the earth and for everything to turn green and live and breathe again. And so it is a perfect time for Adam to be creating his new music, too!

    Mils, I loved your story. You really are a Glambert magnet. It does make me a little sad, though, that people in the music biz in LA didn’t even know about the QAL tour. If he knew Adam from before Idol, I wonder if he saw him in the Zodiac Show.

    I have my own minor Adam story. I transferred my scrabble equipment to my QAL VIP tote bag and at Scrabble club a couple of weeks ago, one guy saw it and said “Adam Lambert?” I said, yes, but we didn’t have a chance to continue the conversation. Later a 90+ year old (originally British)lady saw it and asked “Queen, is that the band? Did you see them?” She was delighted when I said I saw them 3 times this summer. The next week I asked the first guy (50ish American) how he knew Adam Lambert, and he said that he knew him from the videos of him singing the Hebrew songs, the Song of Peace, and other songs with Jewish content from before Idol. So he doesn’t follow him now or anything, but in a way, this guy from the Jerusalem Scrabble Club was a fan of Adam’s before I ever heard of him! And I know him from “Mama!

    rs, mils it never fails to amaze me that so many knew/heard of Adam before his Idol run…and yet this amazing talent was completely under the radar for all that time. (shakes head)
    He has talked about how frustrating/agonizing it was for him to try to crack the wall, but just couldn’t, and Idol was almost a last ditch effort for him. Now that he has achieved success, these stories just underscore his struggle in such a poignant way.

    LadyNorth, I took that to mean that keeping something under wraps was something new for Adam, who has said many times that he wears his whole life on his sleeve (and other phrases to that effect).

    Thanks kradamour and hk fan, that was my interpretation too! But all the reporters have understood it different way, like his album is something very new and different…

    About the fact that music bizz guy mils met didn’t know about QAL tour on time. How are the big concerts advertized there? It so often happens to me, that I hear about a big concert when it’s already sold out (like Pink). I don’t even know how to get the info on time. Go through local Ticketmaster once a week? Sometimes I have seen big ads at the bus stops (never anything I want to see). Maybe the problem is that I don’t live in Helsinki where all the big concerts are. Sometimes I get email from ticket companies, but I guess they only advertise concerts that haven’t sold well otherwise. But what a great thing, that the guy has searched the vids Smile

    I’ve been communicating this evening with Scorpiobert – one of the fandom’s great audiophiles – about which videographers had great audio recordings from the various Q+AL shows. She pointed me to this mega file of hers, where she has posted mp3’s of entire shows at various venues.

    She thought that Auckland and Sydney show recordings posted here had particularly great audio, but she recommended sampling here and there from different shows to see which audio you like before downloading a whole show.

    Loved what Priscilla Presley said about Adam in that HNGN article about the Elvis sunglasses photoshoot. That was very sweet of her. And accurate too! Also loved that the photographer was so taken aback by the passion and loyalty of Adam’s fans. We do have a way of surprising people with that, don’t we?

    Ladynorth re: upcoming concert info

    It’s crazy if you’re not in the fandoms of these artists. You literally never know who’s going to be touring. Registering with ticketmaster for your faves doesn’t help because they don’t email you until a couple weeks before the actual concert. Registering with the big venues themselves is better but hard to get onto those lists sometimes except if you are season ticket holders for the sport that rules those venues i.e. basketball/hockey. I have tried many times to get onto Hard Rock Live’s email list for concerts but they haven’t responded. I do however get free concert invites from Hard Rock thru the casino. It’s too far away to go there regularly though. Also I’d have to get there hours before the concert the same day to get a good seat and it isn’t worth it. I just buy my ticket if I want to go. I usually get presale info from my friend who’s on Hard Rock Live, American Airlines and BB&T Arenas’ lists. (She’s a Miami Heat ticketholder for the AA venue)and she rarely goes to concerts. If she didn’t forward me stuff I would have no idea who’s coming when. It’s a sad situation. I do however get the presale info from venues not here in Miami for whatever reason but I just ignore those or forward them to peeps that might be interested in those artists. Cry Sad but true.
