As summer draws to a close, the fall season heats up with appearances by Adam at the iHeartRadio Music Festival with Queen, on the new album “True” by Avicii and on the new season of “Glee”. A triple threat: live, on CD/MP3 and on your TV! He may not be officially working on new music but we do know that he always has something going on.

LOL I was just about to assure mils that a Bloody Caesar is just a Bloody Mary with clamato juice but Ron popped in first. That drink you linked us to looks like a lady’s hat it’s so busy.

I’m not crazy about the sleeve either. At first glance from a distance it looks like a very hairy arm. He did say he was getting one so we had plety of notice. It is his arm so we will have to deal. Neutral Just hope he doesn’t start working on the other one. They are supposedly going out-of-style, according to my nieces and nephews anyway.

  2. milwlovesadam says:

Adam, could you take your shirt off please!!!

Heyyy!! We finally got him to unbutton!!

We can only hope for a completely open shirt some day.

The navel may not happen until 2025!

  3. luval says:

Ron…so nice you had a pleasant time! Maybe there was a bee’s nest under the table or one of your chairs. Weather was probably perfect!

I heard that the sleeves were going out of style too. Here’s a real close up. Twitter consensus is that it’s garden of eden.

Now I’m in the alcove of the corner meant for know-it-all’s. It is filled with several copies of a Thesaurus , many dictionaries and several walls of reference books.

  8. TLKC says:

Yes it does mils. Please don’t let him shade it in. So bee-yoo-tee-ful to see his lovely freckled skin.

Just checked out the Hooray Henry videos from the other night. In the one that shows Adam peeking his head out waiting for the car, Rufus has that gaunt, high cheek-boned, Bowie-esque 1980’s English rocker look. So cute and an urchin sense of humour if a couple of those pics are anything to go by.

  9. TLKC says:

I don’t know what you are talking about mils. Everyone knows that Kradamour is Ronny’s new musical partner. Didn’t you hear her playing harpsichord on the new single? Grin

No, that’s not what happened today.

Every time I think of that iHeart performance, my mind goes back to what turquoise felt about its effect – that it finally put a stake through the heart of the AMA’s. Adam begins anew now, having removed that albatross from around his neck. (Metaphor alert – lol.)

Really thrilled about that – could be one of the reasons he’s so happy right now. I certainly am.

Great article in RS (Oct.20, p.66) on Nile, “Hot Funkmaster.”

“In the days after the Long Island benefit, Rodgers and Avicii wrote three new songs, which could be included in an all-star EDM collaborative project Rodgers is planning for 2014.”

Also “Lay Me Down,” his propulsive collaboration with Avicii and Adam Lambert, has just come out . . . .”

  27. TLKC says:

Interesting article in this week’s New Yorker about EDM’s impact on Las Vegas. They go into the cost of regular shows like Elton’s and Shania Twain’s, which are very expensive loss-leaders designed to bring in gamblers. The big name EDM DJ’s are huge draws and cost much less to present so guess what? They are going the way of the Dodo.

No Avicii mention, so the writer is already out-of-date LOL. He does mention a few “skinny Swedes” among the rising DJ millionaires. Another thing he might have missed: according to Cher, the crowds line up early and spend all night in the GA venue to obtain a good spot for the DJ, who usually comes out at about 2:00 a.m. Not much gambling happening.

    From Juneau and Xena’s blog

Comment found on another FB page tonight, from a longtime Queen fan, Brent Bradley
-I am a lifelong Queen fan. Met them in 1982 in Atlanta on the Hot Space tour. Sat on the 5th row. Adam Lambert does a great job with them. Great. Man can he sing. I hope they tour the U.S together. And if they do, I guarantee you that Brian & Roger will make sure that they play some Lambert songs too. That’s just the kind of people they are.
There is no way on earth that freddie wouldn’t be so proud of Lambert. He most certainly would be a fan of his music too. That’s the way he was too. I am going to go out and buy one of Lambert’s albums now. I thank him so much for helping brian & roger play their music live again.
Very, and i mean VERY, few men in this world can sing their songs. They are just so difficult to sing. Thank you Adam Lambert. And thanks Brian & Roger for opening yourselves up to him as well. I sure wish they would record together!

I am coming out of my drugged, dazed and confused NyQuil haze and finally feeling a bit better. Texas told me I shouldn’t post under the influence of NyQuil and she was right. LOL.

I am not sure that Queen fan post isn’t really a Glambert in disguise. Regardless, nice post.

I was never a fan of Queen and Paul for most of the reason risky stated but he was Freddie’s favorite singer and he had massive respect for Paul and his talent. I believe Brian and Roger wouldn’t have worked with him otherwise. I think Paul has a fantastic voice and really enjoy him with his band Bad Company but just doesn’t have the right fit with Queen.

Even with Freddie Queen was never huge in the US as they were in the rest of the world. Their last tour here with Freddie did about the same in attendance as it did with Paul. (Granted they were touring off the Hot Space album which most people, including me, did NOT like) Very few if any sell outs. I don’t think adding Adam would mean sell outs or a big jump in attendance either if they did a multi city tour, they just aren’t a big draw here. Again, I agree with risky that if they do concerts here at all it will be limited and probably 1 or 2 in Canada and 1 in NY and 1 in CA.

Just my thoughts….Of course, I hope I am wrong and they have a huge need to play in Dallas…..Smile

  38. riskylady says:

Lol aely, you’re doing great for someone in a fog. I’m in a fog of sorts myself, having just been subjected to 4 days of unrelenting Disney/Not So Scary Halloween, including – I kid you not – REMIXES of every song from the movies. Remixed “Beauty and the Beast,” anyone? (Adam could kill that one, j/s…)
I sort of like Rodgers with his band, but like so many others more – Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Kiss, PRINCE (fave), Lenny Kravitz.
I kind of think iHeart encouraged the collab with Fun (based on interview with Bri and Roger) and they were hoping for more chemistry and maybe more collab, but loved how Brian took Adam to front stage with him and then actually brought about a back-to-back lean with Nate standing right there, as if to say, “take note, everyone, this here’s my boy.” LOL.
Looked like Adam was trying to be polite, but at the same time, couldn’t ever deny Brian.

  39. aely says:

Disney…huh? That might put me back into the mindset of taking more NyQuil shooters.

There was one interview that Roger said when talking about Fun and Nate that he said “…but we work with Adam.” To me, making it clear it was a one time thing and their work/concerts are with Adam. When I am feeling better I will try and find it…did anyone else hear that one?

  40. TLKC says:

Just bringing over the available Q+PR tour sales which I posted on the Iheart thread. Queen could easily manage a 6 city tour like last year’s Eurpopean romp and do very well:

    Miami 5,897 / 6,000 (98%)
    Jacksonville 3,769 / 5,000 (75%)
    Duluth 5,909 / 9,258 (64%)
    Washington, DC 9,475 / 12,571 (75%)
    Uniondale, New York 7,697 / 11,000 (70%)
    Toronto 11,279 / 11,279 (100%)
    Cleveland 6,218 / 9,096 (68%)
    Rosemont 7,441 / 9,500 (78%)
    Auburn Hills, Michigan 10,296 / 10,296 (100%)
    Milwaukee 6,282 / 9,000 (70%)
    San Diego 6,030 / 7,586 (79%)
    Anaheim 9,085 / 14,373 (63%)
    MGM Grand Las Vegas 6,359 / 7,800 (82%)
    Seattle 4,592 / 12,500 (37%)
    Portland 4,234 / 12,600 (34%)

Only Michigan (Detroit area) and Toronto sold out. My memory is that Philadelphia was also a sell-out and Vancouver a near sell-out when I checked for figures on wiki last year. Both big venues. Don’t know where all the missing box office figures went.

Check out Anaheim and San Diego – that’s an easy full house in a big LA area venue.

  41. TLKC says:

I heard that, too, aely but I don’t remember which interview it is.

This is silly of me but I was very happy to see Rufus out with Adam in LA and seemingly having a great time together the other night. Any connection between the two of them just strengthens the tie to Roger. Big Smile Laugh

Queen was never big in my music listening. But I have always loved We Are the Champions & We Will Rock You. Heard them at almost EVERY high school game and still hear them at today’s professional football games. Wayne & Garth gave Queen a resurgence in Wayne’s World with Bo Rap in 1992. Gosh that’s 20 years ago! It gave me the chills. Prince Poppycock sang Bo Rap on America’s Got Talent a couple of years ago.

So, don’t know about more shows here. The fans at iheart to me were older…would know Queen music. There might be a faction of people around today…aware of iheart…realize that this may be their one and only chance to see Queen before they (and themselves) get too old. And hopefully new younger fans that are aware of Queen’s music with Adam that just want something to do! As was said…Queen doesn’t need the money but would do it for the love of music. I’m sure they’d still like to see arenas quite full, though!

Queen was a huge part of my younger years. My favorite band. I can remember cranking up BoRap in my parents house an singing and getting my work done when no one was at home.

  47. milwlovesadam says:

I have been a Queen fan, and a fan of Freddie’s for as long as I can remember. That is why Queen + Adam is so powerful for me.

Back when my kids still asked me about “good” music, I referred them to Queen early on in their musical development. The Boxed set is still in our house. Greatest Hits, I, II, and III.

  48. Kradamour says:

    Hi, peeps!
I had a wonderful visit from mieps on Thursday as she makes her way about the US, we went on a 2 hour harbor cruise on a sailing ship, so fun!
It made me realize how long it has been since I checked in – and today I got an email about the shave – so had to spend this evening to catch up, picked a random page to begin, and what do I find? The unexpected release of my new collab with Ron!
    Laugh
L’amour est bleu is one of my very favorite songs of all time, and it was such an honor to be asked to play the instrumental to Ron’s vocal. An experience that I will never forget.
    In Love

It was so nice to be mentioned by several in connection with the shave…but I should probably take that as an indication that I whined way too much about the facial hair.
    ROTFL

Okay, so now, for what it is worth, here is what I think about Adamworld at the moment.
He shaved! Calloo, callay, oh frabjous day!
    HE SHAVED!
Happy dance with a little twirl HE SHAVED!!!
    Chic

But I get what some have said about having to get used to the new/old Adam. I haven’t clicked on any Adam pix for a very long time (unlike most of you, I couldn’t bear to look at the fuzz) and the image in my head of him was still the cleanshaven one, but he does look different. The structure of his face, its proportions…I can’t quite put my finger on it. He is gorgeous, of course, but there is something new.

The sleeve…I can’t believe I am saying this, but I like it. It ties together the other random tats that looked sort of stuck on in odd places, and reduces the impact of the old man puking on his shoulder. It seems to tell a whole story, have intelligible meaning, and be well-executed.
Would I prefer no tats at all? Yup. But once started, this had to happen.
I agree with everyone who expressed a wish that this be the end of his affairs with ink artists, though, and I hope that it will not get in the way of acting gigs when he is older, if he wants them.

Glee: getting excited! Starchild! Yes! Whateverthehell that is about…! I have watched most of the first three seasons of Glee now, and if I fastforward through the songs I actually kind of enjoy it.
    Wink
I will be in Maine on Nov 7 with no TV, no reception even if I was to buy one, and internet only if tethered to my phone. Gah! Gonna subscribe to HuluPlus and hope I can stream it via the tether without too much lag.
Hmmm…maybe I could go down to the local sports bar and sweetly suggest that they make me a kir royal and change the channel to Glee…

    Happy birthday, ewyflyer!

Just watched Sauli’s show. It’s the one with the Chippendales. Sauli came out on the stage during their show but kept his clothes on. He even speaks English in one part. I wonder if Adam has watched yet. Very entertaining even when you don’t understand the language. Wink
