Maybe this has been already covered, but does anyone know why Adam isn’t playing at the iheart radio show? I realize he has a show tonight, but aren’t these things planned well in advance?
Ladyh,what are you talking about?
Isn’t there a iheart radio Music Fesival this weekend with all the big star’s, Britney, Greenday, Usher and the like,in Las Vegas? I heard it on the radio, and just wondered how come Adam wasn’t scheduled for that.
Maybe he is not a star big enough. Are you also wondering why other stars were not invited as well?
And what show Adam has scheduled for tonight?
riskylady, your gif!

He’s an adorable dork!
Was just asking a question,Oskana2000,didn’t mean no harm. Guess he’s not on that level, in my mind he is. Was wrong on the show tonight, its Tuesday and no ,I wasn’t wondering about any other star being invited.
Ladyh – I too had a pang when I realized that the big iheart radio concert is in Las Vegas this weekend and that Adam isn’t booked for it. I wish he was, but the promoters apparently wanted other artists. I hope he gets that gig at some point because it’s probably a good one.
Regarding Brian London’s call for drummer auditions – at first I figured that this was for some other artist for whom Brian is Musical Director. He is MD for a lot of different artists. From his twitter bio:
But then I saw this come across twitter – looks like Isaac is booked with his band Loaded for some UK gigs in late October/early November – which directly conflict with Adam’s Texas Tango and Napa shows, so Adam needs a drummer to fill in for at least those shows.

Just gonna make a random comment:

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Brian London!
Why? Cos he and Adam make wonderful music together. I really do think that he adds something special to the performances and that Adam plays off that.
I was in an elevator with BL at National Harbor; even when he was standing still there was an energy to him. Very positive.

Rumors are all over Twitter that Isaac might be leaving the band but nothing is official. Just because Isaac is… http://fb.me/1j3pEUaoF
Ok now these are some pretty cool shoes! AFL-themed Vans!

I have a cute Adam story to tell. My daughter went to a bar last night in Wheeling Il that was having kareoke night. A young man sat down at their table and was chatting about what type of songs they wanted to hear. He said he wanted to do his favorite song For Your Entertainment by Adam Lambert but the dj didn’t have it. He was so sad. My daughter told him I was a fan and then he showed his true Adam love. He was wearing tight yellow pants and a black shirt. He said he followed all the blogs, had gone to the Iowa concert, had the Kiev concert video, loved his hair and his eyes. My daughter was so excited that she called me at 1:00 am to tell me the story. He also gave her his number in case I ever wanted to go to any events with him as he was always looking for other fans. Random huh!!
apal123 That is an awesome story and such a sweet daughter to be so excited to tell you about it that she couldn’t wait.
Great story, apal123!
So, it’s funny that Ladyh brought up the iheart radio festival in Las Vegas this weekend. Look what just popped up.
Apparently, Green Day’s set was cut by 20 mins – from 45 mins to 25 mins – to give Usher more time for his set. Billie Joe from Green Day pitched a MAJOR fit over it on stage.

Remembering Adam’s experience of having his set shortened at the recent Iowa show, I guess it happens to even the big guns at these festivals. I’d say Adam handled it a whole lot better, eh?!
(And given the Green Day fiasco, maybe it’s just as well that Adam is not at the iheart Vegas show this weekend!)
What a fabulous story, apal123! Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous story apal, loved it!
Green Day? Wow reading the comments, seems like most fans under the age of “29” just don’t seem to get it. When an act is booked for a gig, they are told their set time. If they are cut, it is a loss of face time with fans, it means that their set list is cut, the “flow” of their act is cut off, and that someone else is getting their time.
You can’t just run long anyway. As we saw in London this summer, they can cut off your power ( McCartney and Springsteen ). The venue is booked and has permits with time limits.
I totally understand his rant. He is a real heart of rock and roll rocker and musician. To know that he was cut short to give other pop stars more time, and then to see a DJ use 15 extra minutes, just makes it worse.
I was so pissed ( but tried to not show it much ) in Des Moines when Neon Trees ran over, and the DJ’s were doing this ridiculous car give away crap fest that ran long, and then Adam went on almost at the time he was scheduled to end and ended up shortened. And, from what I understand, Train went long. What gives?????
OTT Neon Trees was everywhere this week. He now has his white hair shaved and nearly bald. Hope it’s not an omen.
That Neon Trees guy gives me the creeps.
eta: loved your story too, apal
.
mils – I can definitely understand Billie Joe’s anger. I would be pissed as well. And I was pissed on Adam’s behalf when he got cut at the Des Moines show. It’s very disrespectful to the artist affected. And who does Usher think he is that he can run 20 minutes long and steal someone else’s time?
But Billie Joe’s tantrum is pretty dang over the top and rather amusing in its delivery. I wonder what the public’s reaction will be as this makes its way across the internet. And you just know that Adam would get FRIED if he ever tantrummed similarly in reaction to being cut short. But we also know he wouldn’t.
Is my memory correct? Did Adam throw down the mic in a dismissive manner at the end of the Des Moines concert to show his disgust. Thought he did – hope so.
Yes he did ulti. We’ve assumed that it was to express his feelings over being cut short but since he never said anything, we don’t know for sure.
I thought when Adam threw his mic stand down at the end of Trespassing at the NewNowNext awards it seemed dismissive but maybe it was just being fierce. I just re-watched Cuckoo from Des Moines & it seemed pretty nonchalant but you guys that were there probably noticed something different.
I bet Adam could rant Fuck with the best of them!
Just a thought – a mic throwdown at the end of Trespassing is in character; at the end of Cuckoo at the end of a concert where he was cut off, it is most likely his understated (because he is a trouper!) indignant response.

Other than trespassing, I haven’t seen Adam treat the mic in any way other than respectfully (or lasciviously, depending on venue…).
Of course, now you guys will instantly post a hundred vids of Adam throwing the mic down in any number of contexts over the past few years….
maybe the stand?
LOL, nkd, thank you for that gif!
Re the Billy Joe rant, well, to his credit, he did not use the word “ass” even once!
lol riskylady!!
jlurk…you are correct! It’s the stand…not the mic. Am gonna fix my post!
I almost forgot, and we were there jlurks, he knocked over the whole mic stand, but, that was the whole “pantie-gate” thing too. He was on the other side of the stage then, so it was hard for us to see. Overall, he was still in his “jumping out of his skin with joy” stage, so, really, I didn’t take that as anger, just attitude and acting the song.
Atop is going to have a thread with “burning questions” such as:
So if you have any of questions like this you can send them to her. I guess they will investigate & try and answer them.
Oh, right, because “ass” is so much more offensive than “fuck!”
Only to DJ’s that is.
To be honest, I don’t remember Adam throwing down his mic more than a couple of times. He’s more well known for many other moves involving his mic. Thank goodness.
Well, actually, ahem, “goodness” has nothing to do with it.
Whatever happened to the “headphone mics” or whatever they were called? Seems as though that was the way lead singers were going for a while then POOF, they disappeared. Although I guess if you do lots of dancing you wear them so you can sing.

LOL…. This is so great, riskylady!!!

luval, I see vids of Gaga and Madonna and others using those headphone mics regularly.
Adam likes to use the mic and stand almost as props to the performance, I think. Aside from the thoughts that many of us are having about that (ahem), he does seem to use it as a part of the overall visual. I hope he never goes over to a headphone mic.
In a way, I’m also glad Adam wasn’t at the IHeartRadio thing. Seems like every year they have the same old-same old, just like what they play on the radio. After a while, doesn’t it all just run together and sound the same? And, get boring hearing the same stuff over and over? Don’t want him lumped in there with the Rihannas and Iglesias – even if he might want to be.
I remember at the Y100 Jingle Ball, he stood out enormously as literally the only one with a good voice who could actually pound out a powerhouse vocal and SINNNNGGG! Both my daughter and daughter-in-law commented on that.
LOL, here are the cons for headphone mics:
1) You cannot hump them
2) You cannot give them BJs
I guess technically you could, but for #1 it would be exceptionally graphic and disturbing, and for #2 awkward and also hysterically funny.
Riskylady, you owe me a keyboard!!
Wiping up freshly brewed ginger tea…
OMG…I was eating a juicy papaya, with lime juice. It finely ripened.
riskylady, It made a mess! Juice everywhere!
It slimmed me!
Hehehe, mils, by now we should all have waterproof keyboards. You owe me a few too, and so do others on this blog!
Yum, ginger tea! You know, you started me on the ginger thing; one of my favorite juices is the sweet potato/apple/pear with ginger!
completely accidental Adam mic throw (plus a good excused to admire my favorite flannel shirt) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKmY2NKUnQI
I think it is the organizer’s job to keep everybody on time. Make a schedule, everybody needs to stick to it. Everything else is rude to the acts and their fans. Sacramento’s super short set also came about like this. The act before went on forever, changing sets took forever, I got a glimpse of Adam’s setlist with songs crossed out and was so mad. Luckily he was a pro about it, but I doubt he was happy being cut short.
Turquoise, you are so right. Another frustrating thing about Des Moines, and we could see because we were so close, they had each band’s equipment “stacked” or staged and ready to be pushed forward, all amped and plugged in and ready to go. Very little set up time was needed for the next act to just go and perform. It was very professional, just LATE.
So there was really no excuse for cutting Adam short, except for other acts running long.
I really do understand Billie Joe being upset. He may have been a bit foul mouthed, but, hey, it’s rock and roll. And maybe his tirade got through to some of the powers that be. Green Day is well known to give amazing concerts, and they are not short. So given a set, given a time frame, he was probably just getting really juiced up when he got cut short.
The comments from the article posted earlier were kind of disappointing to me. Calling him a sell-out for putting together a Tony nominated Broadway show. ( Don’t remember if they won ). Green Day is huge. Usher? I’m so over him. But most fans aren’t. Why does he all of a sudden get a longer set the day of the show? I’m sure TPTB cited “subject to change”, just like in Des Moines when I e-mailed the station manager.
riskylady, I’m so glad you like that juice recipe. I’ve become a bit of a ginger addict lately.
TeeHee, I think we all are…
mils…great post over there. I “liked” it. One day the snot noses will wake up and they will be 40. Time flies. Remember Generation X? What are they called now? Generation 0?
Nice to have in the background:

Thanks luval!
It was suggested on my email ckt that Rufus Tiger Taylor for Adam’s band.
Isaac going to UK. Tiger to US.
Tiger was awesome. Is this just rumor mill at this time?
That would be nice…Tiger first…Brian, Roger & the rest to come here!
Not even that level
