It’s time for our September chat thread. Hopefully this will be the final relatively quiet month before Adam’s new single is released. As always, please keep the posting guidelines in mind, and welcome any newcomers. Enjoy!

JOJOSIE…hi, I met her in Paris too, I believe.

Is that the PeeWee Herman suit? I’ll have to check out SYTYCD.

nkd, I knew you were joking about the chicken, but whatever it was must have tasted like chicken!

  2. nkd says:

I believe that is the same suit that he wore during his performance on SYTYCD

I think you are right dcglam. He removed the blob of elephant dung off the shoulder! Wink

There’s a picture from SYTYCD on AQD. Same suit.

  3. JOJOSIE says:

It appears to be the same suit without that adornment (thing) sitting on the shoulder. His t-shirt is called Born to Run and is $55 at Allsaints Spitafields. His Mom does look great and I’m sure her life is good now with Adam sucessful and happy in a relationship. Neil seems to be doing well also. His tweets seem less negative lately.

Ron and I are definitely on the same wavelength – told everyone Adam would not win – but there was always this little tender shoot of a hope. Got lots of phone calls after Kris won – I was very brave about it – lol.

And was beyond pissed at Simon’s comments on the Finale MW – the performance was absolutely terrific (can’t watch the version with the wonky last note – annoys the sheeet out of me as I’m sure it did Adam. Ryan teased him about it on ? – saw video – when all the other Idols were gathered around a desk – that teeed me off, too.) I listen to MW on some of the beautiful AITour vids as well as the Finale one.

Simon sort of made it up at the end after Adam struggled through NB (heard Adam was upset at rehearsal, forgetting words, etc.), when he said he wasn’t going to judge him on that performance. (Actually, I like the studio version.)

Adam has definitely driven up my wine bills.

  6. nkd says:

I thought the live performance of NB was awful at the time, but as I became familiar with it listening to the studio version, as I rewatch the performance, it wasn’t that bad.
I loved the finale performance of MW. The vocals were impecable. I don’t know what was up with Simon. Adam was not going to perform it the same as before, you cannot recreate a moment like that. It had to be different, and it was spectacular!

  7. milwlovesadam says:

AZglamfan is the one who hosted the parties in Hawaii. I also met her in Hawaii, Rockford, Peoria. She was wearing custom made black leather bomber jackets ( She and her husband) with Adam Lambert logos and such sewn on. She is everywhere Adam all the time. She mentioned to me in Rockford that she knows several people in show business, had seen Adam 30-40 or more times, had already had 8 meet and Greet opportunities.

    Whatever.

Still love how Adam recycles his clothes. And how he mixes them up to make them look fresh. Kudos to him and Leila for the award tonight. What about Eber? Isn’t he also the parent of a gay man?

  8. Kradamour says:

What about Eber? Isn’t he also the parent of a gay man?

I think it would have been totally in character for Eber to decline. He doesn’t seem like someone who would enjoy being at the center. And since they are no longer married, and Eber has a significant other, that could be iffy. If he did decline, I really respect that decision.

  9. ultimathule says:

And while I’m venting here about Simon, his comment after Adam’s performance of ACIGC – one of the most incredible vocal performances I’ve ever witnessed – that Adam was now back 100% (like he ever left, you dope) – thus, denigrating his MW performance a second time – also lives in infamy as far as I’m concerned.

Simon affects the too-cool-for-school crap too often to be effective.

There – now I feel better. Where’s my glass?

I don’t think Adam would mind too much if you changed your hairstyle, ultimathule. Wink

  13. ultimathule says:

I don’t think he would either, Ron – lol

So we’ve joined the ranks alongside @BJAofficial and @ThatKevinSmith for being kicked off an @SouthwestAir flight, this time for being gay.

@SouthwestAir We didn’t know intolerance and discrimination for slouchy pants, being overweight or being gay was part of your family values

I have been discriminated against by @SouthwestAir. Flt. attendant said that it was a “family” airline and kissing was not ok.

We were escorted off the plane for getting upset about the issue. @SouthwestAir endorses homophobic employees. No one made her accountable.

Since when is showing affection towards someone you love illegal? I want to know what Southwest Airlines considers as “family”.

I know plenty of wonderful same sex families I would like to introduce them to. Boycott @SouthwestAir if you are gay. They don’t like us.

I call for a boycott for @SouthwestAir for their intolerance. Period. Unacceptable. Keep hearing more stories of these incidences. Insane!

Did I mention to @SouthwestAir that I have a lot of their actions recorded on audio and video? RT #boycottSouthwest #discrimination

  18. jlurksacto says:

    negativeneilNeil Lambert

boycott @southwestair if you care about equality.

fire the flight attendant and issue a formal apology for sexual discrimination, @southwestair

if you’re gay & kiss your partner on a @southwestair flight, they kick you off. They think gays don’t have the same rights as the rest of us

that’s Southwest’s official policy until they decide to say otherwise.

that’s what happened to @UhHuhHerMusic last night.

  19. jlurksacto says:

    SouthwestAirSouthwest Airlines

@UhHuhHerMusic I’m so sorry! Can you please follow/DM me more details so we can get to the bottom of this? Thanks!

  20. Kradamour says:

Happy to boycott. No excuse for this.

But she might want to take the same approach as Dave Carroll, the guy who took on United Airlines when they broke his guitar and refused to pay him:

As a musician, she could use her talent for a lot of good here, if she chooses to.

  21. turquoisewaters says:

Back to the stone age. These Southwest people are a bunch of cowards. They were probably so worried about outraging some of their conservative customers that they did not have the guts to do the right thing. Now of course they want to do damage control.
No, you don’t have to protect anyone’s children from seeing a gay kiss. The more they see it, the less a big deal it is. On the contrary, teachers would call this a “teachable moment”: an ideal opening for parents to explain to their kids that some people are attracted to people of the same sex, and that there is nothing wrong with it.
I have to wonder though about the other passengers. Did anyone have the courage to say “Leave them alone, they are not hurting anyone, other people kiss too?” Maybe that would have been enough to turn the situation. Silent onlookers are not innocent IMO.
I love Adam for the way he stands by his friends. His responses were spot-on.

  22. Kradamour says:

Silent onlookers are not innocent IMO.

It’s not just your opinion, turquoise.
    Silence is not innocent PERIOD.

ETA: loved loved loved Adam’s articulate tweets. Not twats!

  23. luval says:

I loved his tweets too. Just love that guy more and more if that’s possible. Have watched the Leila/Adam video many times. Just warms my heart.

The Access Hollywood type shows have been showing the madness of the I Heart Radio concert in Las Vegas this past weekend. I know some people wanted him there but everything looked so fake & phony. Adam is real (or authentic as the PFLAG peeps said).

  24. jlurksacto says:

Yep – been there, done that (in Montreal)

  25. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Well, I have a comment to make regarding Cam and SWA, but before I make it, I will preface it with the following: I pride myself on teaching my three children that “difference” of any kind is okay; it’s not our place to judge; LIVE AND LET LIVE. Proud moment: My 18-year old daughter (bi) marched in the Gay Pride parade in Dallas last weekend with several of her gay friends and had a blast. It was a very rewarding experience for her and for me.

However, I will say that I don’t want to see “heavy” female-female kissing, male-male kissing, OR male-female kissing in public. A peck on the cheek is one thing. Anything further, get a room. If SWA is guilty of persecuting Cam for a peck on the cheek, then shame on them. Otherwise, I think there are social norms that should be abided by everyone.

  26. Kradamour says:

    Texas, ITA.

My understanding is that it was, in fact, a quick peck. But even if it was more, I don’t see SWA reacting in this way to a heavy hetero kiss. Would I want to see it? Not really, regardless of how many genders were involved. But unless the airline has a “no kissing” policy in general, they should not have reacted. IMO.

  27. jlurksacto says:

My understanding is that it was, in fact, a quick peck

And the kisser/ee wasn’t Cam, it was her band mate Leisha Hailey ? ?

  28. ultimathule says:

A “quick peck?” A goodbye kiss? Making out? Where? Anyone know? Doesn’t matter anyway – SW is going to get creamed.

  29. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

kradamour, I DO see SWA reacting the same way to a heavy kiss between a hetero couple. SWA is based out of Dallas – I’ve been flying with them for a long, LONG time (even more than 29 years Smile ). If I’m reading the tweets correctly, it appears that Cam & Co. were removed from the flight based on their response to the airline’s request to refrain from whatever behavior was deemed inappropriate. My gut tells me there was more involved than just a peck on the cheek. My best friend is a flight attendant with SWA. I’ll see her on Wednesday and plan on asking her about airline policy, etc.

Just been catching up on the last few pages so a bit late to comment,
just wanted to say Ron, that I think Mad World at the finale was my favourite Adam performance of the whole season, have always loved the song, the vocals were spot on (agree with the last note on the first one), the fog, the coat, it was all perfect, especially that last ‘look’ to the camera…

and was it SWA that kicked the guy from Greenday off for wearing his trousers too low?

  35. milwlovesadam says:

Why do we need Rodney King? Isn’t he in jail again?

  36. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

Haha, I just googled Rodney King and yes, he was arrested again for driving under the influence back in July, yada yada, but look who’s advertisement is embedded in the article!

    http://articles.cnn.com/2011-07-12/justice/california.rodney.king.arrest_1_new-arrest-rodney-king-federal-civil-rights-charges?_s=PM:CRIME

  37. ultimathule says:

King’s “cri de coeur” has become a famous plea to something that will never happen. Sadly appropriate in the present situation. (Probably is in jail.)

  38. dcglam says:

Catching up right along with you, HK fan….

I love all the pics and video of Adam and his mom at the PFLAG event. They seemed to be sharing lots of laughs and totally enjoying themselves. It seemed like a fun time for all.

Texas, my hat goes off to your boy tonight. He totally deserves that win! Wink

  39. TexasWannaHoldEm says:

dcglam, it was a great game! Lots of cringe-worthy moments when Romo got sacked and tackled – can’t imagine the pain. Frown Thank goodness for those 6 field goals! Now the Cowboys and Skins are tied!

Thanks for the vid. Helped wake me up much more than my coffee.

I was upset about the SW airline news since it is the one airline I still enjoy flying. Their response so far has been underwhelming in helping to understand why this happened.

I’ve been on SW flights where the passenger next to me was drunk and somewhat disorderly. No one seemed to mind but me.

I don’t know if this really matters but I have noticed that Adam’s google views have dramatically dropped. This surprises me since he has had a few major events this month. I still google him a few times a day since I think it is important to keep the numbers up (right?).

Here’s hoping that his single is phenominal and that he releases it next month! I want him to be back in the public’s eye for his amazing talent.

  43. Kradamour says:

Whoo, turquoise, quite a vid! Rolls Eyes thanks!

I think it is wonderful that virtually every fan vid that is created now has footage from Ste Agathe. Yes, it was the most recent concert, but I think that this also really speaks to the quality of the filming that took place that night as well as Adam’s amazing “I OWN the f*cking stage, b*tches!” performance.

Also, seeing these vids with other performances cut together, I’ve been thinking about what Adam might wear on stage for his next tour. I loved GN and the costumes and dancers, etc., that was perfect for GN. But for the next one I’d love to see him like he was at Ste Agathe: all in black, but not Johnny Cash black – sexy with a foxtail and medges or whatever black. It put him into perfect focus and we could concentrate on Adam totally without distraction. (Not that it is easy to be distracted, of course!) If the music will be real, authentic, organic, whatever the mot du jour is…I think that this could be really effective.

Assuming we ever get a single, album, tour, that is! Rolls Eyes

adamized, I had noticed the decrease in google searches also. If his album is as phenomenal as we are all hoping, it won’t matter that he fell off the radar for a while. But gotta say that I am getting nervous. It’s been almost a year since the last concert…and we can’t even have a single by now?

Would LOVE to see OOL released as a single during the SWA brouhaha! but there could be ramifications that might make it less appealing an idea for Adam and the album.

  44. luval says:

Are we able to tell who has the most goggle searches or at least in the top ten? It seems to me nothing much is happening anywhere in the entertainment business lately.

Well, I ordered my peace pendant today. Still not loving it, but I’m warming to the idea and it looked lovely on nekkid (speaking of nekkid!). Might even wear it. I did buy the fleur de lis earrings from PennyRoyal to participate in the fundraiser and the workmanship is amazing, I just love them.
