meips, would love to hear your discovery story. I still regret not meeting you and being there for Adam’s concert in Holland. I hope I have another opportunity.
Ron, if you take a look at luval’s link you will see that your memory is pretty darn good. Ryan was nervous but Adam assured him then hit it out of the ball park.
kradamour I have grown to really appreciate WWFM, especially the live versions and the accoustics. The one from Germany is especially moving. It seems so heartfelt to me that I am moved by it. I especially love when his voice is a bit raspy and softer.
Looking forward to some pics from mother/son honor dinner.
Only like the acoustic WWFM’s. Captured the Berlin Radio (on the EP?) video before, I think, it was taken down. That one I can watch a LOT. Monte and Adam knew it was great – the way they looked at each other at the end – just so wonderful.
Another favorite (actually, may be biggest one)is the Sunrise Australia version where Adam looked (and sounded) hungover. Gorgeous closeups – very emotional – and – wonderful surprise – humming part of the song – in particular, at the end. A treasure.
I liked WWFM much better than Fever, but it was still an obvious Pink song when I first heard it. Eventually, Adam made it his, but it was never my favorite. Sleepwalker will always be my favorite on the album. I wished they’d released it–even Leno thought it would be a hit. I love the more plaintive and sad version rather than the angry and defiant version it became on the tour, but it’s still my fav.
I didn’t see Adam on AI until Black or White. I was very anti-Idol up to then, and only watched because visiting family insisted. I was so bored with Michael Jackson night until Adam came out and sang. Wow!
I wasn’t shocked at Ring of Fire. I’d heard sitar music with the Beatles, several rock singers wear fingernail polish, and even Michael Jackson had eyeliner tatooed on. I was impressed with his voice. His confidence while performing on stage was such a contradiction to his humble demeanor afterwards where he seemed blown away by the response of the crowd and the judges. He just melted my heart and made me love music again.
Some of his choices on the show were puzzling–Play That Funky Music, and especially If I Can’t Have You on Disco week. But he made me love them. IICHY is my favorite on the AI8 album.
luval, I think WWFM made it to 10 on the Billboard Top 100 chart the week after his Idol mentoring and performance.
I personally loved his Play That Funky Music performance, because by that point I was so gone I just loved the smiles and the moves!
My best memories of the disco night , besides Adam’s amazing song choice and version of the song, was his DANCING.
Now, I must admit, I just about burned my DVR up replaying those golden moments.

You are so funny, Ron! I love your post and your honesty.
So, Adam actually drove you to drink!! LOL
I have to admit that I can totally understand. After all, even Paula once commented that Adam was the bravest contestant she had ever seen. I felt good (very good) about all of Adam’s performances on AI except for ROF. That one had me worried. Yes, I was also a big fan of Play That Funky Music — loved the smile, eyes, dance moves, arrangement, and of course, the vocals. I believe this is one of the times when Adam thanked the band for the arrangement. Ha — the details that we remember!
And for what it’s worth….. Sleepwalker has always been (and still is) my favorite from FYE.
Hi adamized! Yes, it was a pity we couldn’t meet up. I combined the show with a great family visit, so it was win-win for me. Let’s try to figure out a way for the next tour. I may have to/want to head down to the States again, so we may find an opportunity yet.
Looking forward to it.

One year ago 9/25/10 1130pm but it was really 9/26/10 1130am here, GN was at Singapore Grand Prix. This video makes me laugh.

eta…I corrected the time of the show
Yes! But, it was a very short ride. I was a willing passenger.
The only other time I resorted to ye ol’ liquid courage was for the finale. 99% of me absolutely knew that Adam wasn’t going to win that night. There was however that 1% chance for the possibility of a wonderful, pleasant surprise. Not likely, but still …
This time around a simple bottle of wine wasn’t going to cut it. The show was 2 hours long so I bought a half-gallon jug! I don’t know why I kept getting up and down for refills. I should have just put a straw in the bottle and kept it in my lap.
I thought that Adam’s second performance of “Mad World” on the finale was a bit, and arguably, better than the first time he sang it. The first version has that slightly “wonky” last note for half-a-second that he immediately corrects but, it’s there. To me, the finale “Mad World” vocal was flawless. I thought the atmosphere Adam created with the long dark coat and dry-ice fog only added to the performance.
So, I can’t understand how Simon went from giving Adam a standing ovation the first time to all but completely dismissing his finale performance. All he did was complain about the coat and fog … so theatrical, too over-the-top, all “a bit much” … and said nothing about the vocal.
I suppose Adam’s fate was sealed by that time but I still wonder if viewer’s took Simon’s very unenthusiastic response to heart and that it, in some way, played a part in the outcome. Well, we’ll never know.
Adam seems to be doing “reasonably well” for a runner-up, though.
hi luval – thanks for the laugh. I’d forgotten all about that video. It really was funny.
For the record, I love WWFM but Sleepwalker is my favorite from FYE. Can’t Let You Go is my favorite from the extended UK version.
I’ll chime in…SW, FYE and IIHY tie for me for my favorites.
So the time on the PFLAG invitation says 5Pm. So that would be 8pm my time (EDT). Not late. Maybe I can see some pics before I hit the sack.
Gosh I hope OoL is included on the new album. But if not, I would think it would be on the extended version. It has to be on something!!
I don’t think you need to worry luval. Adam has a very smart way of marketing material in lots of different packages. My guess is that he will release slightly different versions of the same cd to different countries. This may be a bit tricky since he had mentioned at one point that there was going to be a world-wide release date unlike last time. This idea may have changed.
Our MFB (remember Rico… ) must be losing sleep over all these details.
Hi luval! Don’t forget – new season of “The Amazing Race” at 8pm tonight.
In Ste.-Agathe, Adam said OOL was going to be on the album. After putting it out there and with so many views on YouTube and wonderful comments, I don’t see how he can now possibly not include it.
Hi Ron…looking forward to the Race! Survivor is good this season too.
Yup, Adam did say that. …(eta…didn’t sound right).
I agree. I loved both, but I think I like the second version the best. I loved the long dark coat and fog, and that’s my favorite hair-style (what can I say, I’m Beatles-era).
I thought it was a smart move, considering all the goth/vampire stuff that the kids love. Very dramatic! I was very surprised at Simon’s reaction too.
Those in my extended family who didn’t vote for Adam did not like the “screaming” and the tongue thing. I don’t think the finale changed their minds. Nothing was ever said about his general appearance or his being gay. I never really got the “flamboyant” reference anyway. I’m pretty conservative, and never thought he was over-the-top, just a very interesting and entertaining performer. I still love to watch the AI videos. Helps kill time while we’re waiting on new stuff!
Ellesay…haha my co-workers did not like the tongue thing or screaming either. But they never voted. I sincerely believe that all of Gokey’s votes went to Kris. As simple as that. IMO
Hi Ellessay!
I’m glad you agree with me and very glad to see you posting again! You were missed!
For me, from the beginning, Adam’s singing voice and the word “screaming” simply didn’t belong in the same sentence. luval just mentioned Danny Gokey. What WAS the name of that song he sang where he let out the most awful sounding note at the end?! Now THAT was screaming. Gokey went for a note, couldn’t hit it and went out of control. Adam hits those big notes and he’s always in control! I think that might be the main difference. Adam’s in control of his voice, he has this incredible range, so that when he hits those big notes, he’s singing them both on pitch and in key. He’s not screming wildly into a microphone.
Ron, the song was “Dream On” by Aerosmith. I would post the scream but don’t want to be rude.
btw I liked Gokey at the very beginning of S8.
Thanks luval! Yes, “Dream On”. I want to quickly add that I enjoyed Danny Gokey very much! I looked forward to his performances each week. But “Dream On” wasn’t one of his better efforts.
Oh, why not? I’m not making fun of Gokey! I liked him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X150SrrY5bM (1 min. 58 sec.)
I think Gokey’s pretty good until that unfortunate, less than appealing last note.
Again, that’s screaming. In comparison, Adam doesn’t scream.
Notice how they mention Leila first, then “her son”, Adam….

My sister liked Gokey–only because he reminded her of Robert Downey Jr. She switched to Kris after he left. At that point, she felt like “anyone but Adam.” BUT she did go to GlamNation-Melbourne with my group.
9/25/10 – the Glam Nation Tour kicks off its international leg at the Formula 1 Grand Prix event in Singapore:
http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-singapore-092510
This started a month of late nights for those of us following the tour from here in the United States, as most of the Asian/Pacific dates occurred sometime in the middle of the night or early the next morning here.
For those who may not recall, the tour spent the next month playing Asian/Pacific dates, stopped in Honolulu for a couple more U.S. dates in late October, then headed to Europe where the tour resumed in early November. The European leg wrapped up in late November in London, then Adam and company headed home for the final couple of GNT dates in Los Angeles in mid December.
Aww, shucks! I’ve been reading, but just haven’t taken time to post. We just had a surprise 80th birthday party for my dad this last weekend and spent a lot of time getting ready. I have five sisters, and some of them came from out of town (Montana & Michigan) and we had loads of fun.
Absolutely. Adam’s name did come up and Sandy again complained about his screaming. I always point out that what Gokey did was screaming, Adam could hit the notes and didn’t always have to go to falsetto to do it.
That’s what I love about listening to him. Anytime he hits the high notes, it makes sense–it’s not doing it just because he can, like Durbin did this last season. I’m sure Adam isn’t above showing off a little, but he doesn’t sacrifice his art to do it.
eywflyer…gosh Glam Nation 2010 is getting near the end. Seemed like it just started!
Ultimathule, here’s that lovely WWFM from Australia. My second favorite, after the Berlin one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNOUi4JW_1w&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLF2C56C6B794D1DE2
I also love TFM and No Boundaries…both could have been Journey songs IMHO, except that Adam’s voice is so much lovelier to me.
Luval, yea time is zipping past, I really hope Adam has a new single out by the time the GNT recaps end! Starting to wonder though…
Well I for one was gone when he sang Bohemian Rhapsody and never looked back. I loved everything he did on Idol and thought he was the best each and every week. The first Idol I have ever voted for.
Gokey–blech never liked him.
I thought Adam was very clever when he did Believe, my favorite was Feeling Good and those stairs. WOW And now we have JH totally making me hate that song with her WW commercials.
I can remember going to work the day after ROF and everyone saying that it was terrible and poor Johnny would be turning in his grave. I told them all if they thought that then they knew nothing about Johnny Cash. I grew up listening to him and saw him in person (when I was but a mere babe). He was a country music rebel and did many things that cultivated an outlaw image. He would have appreciated ROF.
Some pictures up on adamquotedaily.

Hi nkd! Thanks for the pics Link!
Did you read this?
Cute.
Hi Ron!
I did read that little story. Very cute!
I had just read it to Mr nkd, he politely chuckled!
http://yfrog.com/nxw33lj
There are more pictures if you click on nkd’s link again. Leila looks gorgeous. Geez azglamfan really gets around!
Adam looks very nice, but who would have called a grey plaid suit?
Pictures are being added occasionally, keep refreshing the page. AQD seems to be on top of things.
High hair, no makeup, no pendants, no Sauli (that I can see, yet).
Great honor! Wonder what the dinner menu was?
Who is on his tee? haha grey plaid.
Chicken!
thanks, nkd!
Maybe he took that “black is out” thing a little too seriously? He always changes things up.
These may be a couple different ones from 24/7
http://adamlamberttv.blogspot.com/2011/09/adam-lambert-at-pflag.html
Adam just seems to know what to wear for every occasion. This suit was probably in the back of his closet just waiting for a non-rock-god type of event to attend. Wonder what shoes (?) he had on?
You know I was joking about chicken?!! I’ve got no clue what’s for dinner!
Shoes? Do you think he hung up the medges for this one?
A nice black dress shoe! Naw!
The folks over on twitter think it’s the suit he wore on SYTYCD. They even know where he got the T-shirt and how much it cost. Lots of good memories out there and yes Azfan is everywhere, and good for her that she has the funds and the time to do so. I just casually met her in Hawaii last year.
I believe that is the same suit that he wore during his performance on SYTYCD when he sang WWFM. I loved it then and now as well!
