Adam showed what a good global citizen he is by using his “Superpower” to promote worthy causes to the world (along with Queen, of course). This month, he continues the promo for his latest EP, “Velvet: Side A”. We should see him on a few TV shows and hear more of his superpowerful songs on radio as well.

    INFO|There’s no official confirmation yet, but apparently Adam cancelled his appearance on The Late Late Show on 10/9.

    This probably means that The Talk, taped 10/10, is cancelled as well. We’re worried and confused, we were looking forward to both performances.

    Here is my opinion. I think he’s been fine all along but is having some concerns about the band. He’s such a perfectionist & if things don’t gel exactly right he’s not gonna go on any TV shows right now.

    luval, I agree about the band too. It’s harder to get the sound right with just the instruments, and he’s a perfectionist. I also do think his voice wasn’t top form on Kelly and Ryan, maybe a little cold or something, and just generally needed more good sustained rest. He’s been running himself ragged since the tour end with travel, interviews non-stop, Central Park, etc. Over-scheduled.

    After spending about 8 years touring with Queen, Adam Lambert finally returned with his latest album titled “Velvet”. This album consists of two parts. This September, Velvet: Side A has been released with 6 tracks, while Side B is planned for release next year.

    Through his latest album, Adam Lambert created music inspired by the old music industry. Through his interview with Billboard, Adam revealed that he grew up with various vinyl collection from his parents. The nuances of the 70s and 80s music are the main reference for this Velvet: Side A album. Creating a new musical color in Adam’s career has been a musician. However, he revealed, “It feels like I’m trying to understand (old music), this feels like I’m returning to something I’ve already understood”.

    The album opened with the track “Superpower” which also became the main single in this album. This song became a groovy heater with a catchy funk guitar arrangement. Combined with Adam’s powerful falsetto sound approaching the song hook.

    The nuance of disco is felt in the track “Stranger You Are” which increasingly makes us feel nostalgic with the color of the 80s music from the arrangement of the bassline on the chorus and the typical vocal accompaniment. Adam’s powerful voice works well with the colors of funk and vintage disco pop music.

    “Closer To You” is a ballad song with piano arrangements. With romantic love lyrics. Reminiscent of old romantic songs with a touch of blues. When a simple and organic instrument is combined with strong vocals with a tune of technical notes.

    The nuances of thick disco blues are felt on the track “Overglow”. Listening to this track will take us to the 70s dance floor with the reverberating song The Bee Gees. The musical arrangement presented in the album “Velvet: Side A” will increasingly feel the distance through time as we continue to listen to the songs until the end.

    While the tracks “Loverboy” and “Ready To Run” have a fresher feel with funk rock arrangements with superior bass and guitar arrangements.

    Adam Lambert didn’t mess around when deciding on the concept of disco and vintage funk for this album. “Velvet: Side A” really feels like a piece of music born from the past. Without trying to package it with a touch of modern pop that became the root of Adam from the beginning of his career, this one musician in totality took the concept of the 80s, 70s in his latest album.
