    After all, Cox may be a transgender actress playing a “sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania,” but she is a woman, and a conventionally attractive-looking one at that. So there’s nothing particularly shocking about seeing her dressed in leather lingerie.

    Interesting that my/our thoughts last night are the thoughts and reviews today.

    I watched Meatloaf and the first parts of the original last night, and.

    Yeah

    I’m just still a massive fan of Tim Curry.

    And, Adam’s version of Hot Patootie did not cover as much ground lyrically. More wails and snarl, less screen time, less song time.

    He was absolutely fantastic, but why the frack didn’t the producers and directors and choreographers LET him do the whole song, all the lyrics, have more screen time??????

    Maybe, just maybe, this is what Mr. Loaf was referring to in his comments about Adam’s version.

    And, now that I have stirred the pot, I’ll see you later my lovelies.

    And I echo this too. That construction across the street from him (3 year project) was really really bothering him. Interesting how all the success and love in the world but you can still be depressed.

    But then again, this may not be the problem. Maybe something physical happening too that might exacerbate his depression??

    Thanks for the post about the bot attack, luval!…spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with my router/computer set-up. Guess we’ll just wait it out. Confused

    Just went down to my local library to pick up a book…used the computers down there to try & get on twitter. Yes, I got on, but when I got home (I only live about 2 miles from there) I still could not get on twitter. Says “server not found”. I tried on mozilla and microsoft edge. Not working.

    Speaking of strong vocals, American Idol alum Adam Lambert stole the show with his minor role as Eddie. His showcase song, “Hot Patootie”, showed off Lambert’s insane vocal range and movie star charisma, causing some to say that he should have played Frank-N-Furter.

    I love the youtube of Adam in RHPS….its sad that there are so many negative reviews, but happy that all his are so positive….I really hope some producer somewhere sees this and offers him a great role, he is just stunning on screen and so natural…what would your choices be for the perfect role for him??

    BWW Review: FOX’s THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW is an Underwhelming, Sanitized Disappointment. Ashford and the always wonderfully-voiced Adam Lambert made for one rough, but mesmerizing, couple; even though Lambert’s Eddie wasn’t long for this, or any, world. I am hopeful that some enterprising producer saw the broadcast and is currently loading up an armored truck with cash in order to entice the pair to do a musical together on Broadway.

    Probably no other reason than wanting a color on an odd part of her bodyIMO. Looks like she was sucking on a blue lollipop (which she does in other parts of the movie)

    So happy for Adam, he was so great as expected, he needs a role he can sink his wonderful teeth into, I need to see all Adam all the time.
    Along with that we have wonderful man Dr Brian suffering with some unknown illness, which makes me sad, cry, I want him better to get back with Adam, and this better come together, he is such a wonderful man, and I hope he will be ok. Such ups and downs, this year I am so happy for it to be over, my life and everyone else with the suffering and then the happiness. And to top it off and I dont EVER discuss politics, this horrible election.
    But Adam he is just so wonderful, I hope something comes along that we can see his great singing acting more.
    And he NEVER has told his audience to be quite during songs, infact he incourages it hes such a great human being. I know, as someone said Adam for Pres in 2020, and he can run aganist Mr Kanye West ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL
    Next stop besides AU XFactor, his Halloween costume, I have a guess what he might be but Im not going to let it out just in case, Im sorry for silly rantings.

    Hi gang! Still lurking, just not posting much. Lots of medical stuff going on, got to retire, still waiting on Social Security to start.

    Anyway–thoughts on RHPS. I did not enjoy the remake. The music was too loud and overshadowed the voices. I had a hard time following the singing, even though I knew the songs. Even Time Warp was disappointing.

    Laverne Cox seems like a force of nature, but this just was not the part for her. The lead needed to appeal sexually to women and men and I didn’t get that vibe from her. Tim Curry had me from the first time I saw him, and even my husband, who is no fan of the movie, will watch his entrance at the beginning almost mesmerized.

    Adam has the sex appeal and screen presence. Make-up, fishnet, yeah, we’ve already seen it and loved it on him. And he could do the songs justice. Ah, what might have been.

    I know they had Laverne utilize her lower register to make her seem more masculine, but it just didn’t work for me. It didn’t help her songs, nor did it help me see her in that way.

    The problem is, if that character isn’t right, it affects the rest of the cast. Nothing felt right. I didn’t really care about any of them. I don’t mind it being cleaned up a bit for the tv audience, but I think it could have been made a little more relevant and gritty. There wasn’t any passion, or real emotion. At least not until Adam came on. His part was over way too quick.

    I was glad to see Tim Curry, and I hope he continues to improve from the stroke. Such a talented actor.

    I did stick it out to the end to see the dinner scene and hear the reprise at the end. But after it was over, I thought my time would have been better spent just watching the online video of the Adam parts over and over again for a couple hours. Razz
