September was a month full of surprises – Adam on Idol, Adam out and about and then to wrap up the month, the announcement of the UK and European Q+AL tour in early 2015. Can’t wait to see what October has in store! In the meantime, we’ll continue with the weekly walk down memory lane and revisit the summer’s concerts.

    I loved Gian’s interview of Adam, one of the best out there….perfect voice for radio…

    Jian is such a talented interviewer, Adam clearly felt comfortable with him and the chat was natural and insightful. Canada has lost someone very special…hopefully for only a short while. I have to believe that his talent will overcome the stupid.

    I’m just so sick of sex scandals ruining careers. Jian is too talented, he’ll land on his feet. Somewhere.

    On another note, just watched the series finale of Boardwalk Empire. Wow. Powerful acting and writing. So full circle.

    Does anyone else here still watch it?

    Wonder what’s happening tonight in Adam’s world of a whole week of Halloween?

    Does anyone know who he was supposed to be last night? Maybe that Time Warp guy from Rocky Horror? A guest at the party…Yes, I think I just answered my own question. There was a guy at Frank ‘N Furter’s house doing the time warp in a tux with hair like that…( looking for a pic )

    I do! I haven’t watched tonight’s episode yet but will later. This season has been really good.

    Such a shame about Jian’s job. I loved his interviews with Adam. Some of the best.

    Something I just love about how Adam recycles clothes, he will mix them up, wear them with different pieces, and wear gorgeous things as a costume.

    nkd, you must know where we have seen that jacket before. The drips of “wax” on it, was it Divas, or some other show?

    mils, I think it’s the sequin jacket we first saw on the Grammys red carpet when he was fashion correspondent, with the Col Sanders tie, and then on NYE at WinStar last year.

    A very, very interesting guy. I will be surprised if he does not land on his feet. Still, his current situation is wretched, and especially so given the timing after his father’s death.

    So strange. Just got an email from my brother in Germany to whom I gifted a QAL ticket. Guess what – he has already exchanged it for a Nick Cave ticket Shock Pain So I look on youtube who this Nick Cave guy is, watch an interview of him with Jian Ghomeshi, and now I come here to find out what a nightmare of a situation Ghomeshi is in. I just really hope this is not true.

    Continuing on the road to recovery, we are in Las Vegas for 2 nights at the Joint. Post your commentary about those concerts in the thread of the 6th and feel free to let me know if anything needs to be added or updated.

    RE: Jian Gomeschi – I read his side of the story on facebook this morning and, as it stands, the CBC is facing a $50 million law suit from him. The CBC is the cream of the Canadian broadcasting world. It’s announcers become national treasures and he was well on his way to that status.

    He clearly wants his job back.

    If any of the claims involve on-the-job sexual harassment, then the CBC was totally within their rights to let him go; in fact they should have, BUT, based on his story, this is not the case. He says that the CBC even admitted that it was consensual. Their problem was that it didn’t fit their image.

    We will have to wait and see but I love the CBC and I love his show and I am desolate about this.

    Man, turquoisewaters, I would damage any relative of mine who took a ticket I gifted them and traded it in for another ticket. Even if it was a ticket to Justin Bieber. At least your cousin was honest.

    RE: his Nick Cave interview – Jian Gomeschi is an amazing interviewer and journalist. There are only a very few people who could take over his job at the CBC and do it justice and I can’t even think of one who combines his breadth of knowledge in the necessary arts – especially music – and his beautifully expressed curiosity.

    Another thing that makes me sad about this is that he is a huge inspiration to the Persian community in Canada. At the Festival of Books last year, he gave an open area talk. It was windy and I couldn’t hear him so I kept looking over the crowd and I was gobsmacked by the number of people from that community who were in attendance, many of them young families with their children in strollers. The men in particular seemed to hang onto his words and rushed to talk to him as he left the stage. It hit me that, having reached the level he has at a national institution, he is a symbol of hope and acceptance by Canadian society to immigrants from that part of the world.

    Canada is having a bad week.

    OKAY so why would Adam dress up as Marcus for Halloween? Up until now the only Adam hair days I didn’t like were the face-covering “do” he wore to that 2009 nominations announcement with Paula Abdul and the 3-storey-high pompadour he sported on the last night of the Idol Season 8 tour.

    They say all things come in threes so I am confident that this will be the end of it.

    He looks pretty shaved on the sides. Obviously he’s been wearing that hat 24-7 for a reason.

    TLKC I think the worst Adam hair, hands down is the EMA’s. I despise those shaved sides. I don’t count the Halloween party, it is a costume.

    BTW I don’t see his outfit as a costume at all. Just stuff thrown together…looks like Molinari would look if he was one of the background characters in Rocky Horror Picture show. Certainly not Frank n Furter as one of the articles said.

    I think he’s saving the best for last…His party this weekend.

    I guess he is lucky to have such a mild-mannered sister. I don’t think he meant anything bad, he is just a bit clueless about concert-ticket gifting etiquette. Laugh But yeah, my first reaction was “Noooooooooooooo!” There I was trying to support QAL …

    luval, sweetie, he wasn’t supposed to be Frank ‘N Furter. He was dressed as one of the “guests” at the party at Frank “n Furter’s castle doing the time warp. He nailed it. From the hair to the shoes. That’s also why he and Kelly were tweeting about doing the time warp.
