   A friend from Toronto sent me this hilarious piece. (Not a friend from this site, but a friend whom TLKC met him and his wife at the dim sum restaurant.)

   Sentences exactly as typed by medical secretaries (from doctor’s records) in NHS (National Health Service) Greater Glasgow

   1. The patient has no previous history of suicide.

   2. Patient has left her white blood cells at another hospital.

   3. Patient’s medical history has been remarkably insignificant with only a 40 pound weight gain in the past three days.

   4. She has no rigors or shaking chills, but her husband states she was very hot in bed last night.

   5. Patient has chest pain if she lies on her left side for over a year.

   6. On the second day the knee was better and on the third day it disappeared.

   7. The patient is tearful and crying constantly. She also appears to be depressed.

   8. The patient has been depressed since she began seeing me in 1993.

   TLKC: I really like what you said about Sam Smith. I think he had very good marketing. The way they shaped his image is pretty genius. I don’t want him for it. I think we might just be a tad bit jealous that he became so successful so quickly.
   Adam is a different character, and that character has a lot to do with all of our fascination with the guy, at least for me.
   I think Adam and Sam recognize each other’s singing skills and can respect each other in their differences. To me it is a good thing to have a real singer be successful in the business.

    I was driving home this afternoon, and I followed a white Bentley for a few miles……don’t know if it was the same make as Adams, but it was definitely a similar body shape, same wheels I think, but not a convertible….nice looking car….made me smile all the time I was following it thinking of Adam driving in his

    eta….just saw the pics again and realized Adams isn’t a convertible either…must have been mixing it up with the one in Hawaii….

    And I’m not in the least bit concerned about whether anything said by Gawker, let alone a few random internet posters, would make him cry, riskylady, – pretty sure he doesn’t read this blog – and if Sam can’t weather the odd critique from the odd media company then he needs to get into another business.

    My post was about Adam crying, because it made me think about the impact of those kind of attacks. On behalf of Adam and because of Adam, I don’t like them and will always say so.

    FYI: I read that quote you posted from Gawker as Sam’s way of saying what Adam has much more succinctly stated many times since the AMA/OUT/ABC debacle: Adam wishes that we were in a post-gay world where sexuality was incidental, too. Nothing terrible about that.

    Sam…..needs some time and life experiences to grow up a bit. He’s only 21 or 22. I hear periodically that he says something on twitter and then deletes it. He says things in interviews that he later regrets or are misinterpreted.

    Maybe the best lesson he can learn from Adam is how to have a better filter.

    I think Sam and Frank Ocean have benefited tremendously from Adam’s experience and his grace under pressure. Half the reason that they are being treated so much better than Adam lies in what the music industry and the media learned from that incident.

    Adam helped write the rules on that, which will be to his eternal credit. Sam isn’t making it into any high school or university textbooks any time soon.

    I went to a gift store where I often buy stuff, like scarves or kitchen stuff and I was speaking to the owner about my trip to Prague and how cold it will be. She asked why in the world would I go to Prague in February and I said that I am meeting friends there. Then I took the plunge and said that we are going to a Queen concert. She said didn’t the Queen singer die of AIDS? I answered yes, but they have a wonderful new young singer who I really like and that they are touring the UK and Europe with him this winter. (Didn’t need to go into detail about my three concerts in the States this summer, lol). Anyway, her response was, I SHOULD LEARN FROM YOU!
