September was a month full of surprises – Adam on Idol, Adam out and about and then to wrap up the month, the announcement of the UK and European Q+AL tour in early 2015. Can’t wait to see what October has in store! In the meantime, we’ll continue with the weekly walk down memory lane and revisit the summer’s concerts.

    Ah, the clue, AL – love to know what it was, but guess you have to keep it under wraps till you know what happens to the crossword puzzle.

    It did have to do with Queen so might be too unfamiliar to many NYT puzzlers even with the success of the tour. If accepted, it may be a year or two before it appears and I know what clue was actually used. But I’ll continue to use “Adam” whenever he fits in.

    How would you be smoking (anything) in a theatre? Is it allowed in the US? The smoking laws are very strict here.

    Joints being passed around at concerts is practically a given. I think they just look the other way.

    re the joint…the pearl clutching by me was more to do with smoking and his voice, but also that if picked up by the media with one he would get so much negative press, more so than if it was something else…other stars seem to be able to get away with a lot more than Adm, although hopefully that is slowly changing…
    I wondered about smoking in an indoor theatre too kiwi, but I think this concert was outside..
    I thought it was Jake Shears in the photo, and Neil…would never have said that was his mum though, she looks like a young girl in the pic. I like the idea that him and Jake are friends enough to go out together….
    Not a fan of the jacket, and gulp in the close up photo earlier, he really has shaved his hair…hoping its just the sides again!!

    I was at the Sam Smith concert in Oakland just last week. It was indoors, and I can tell you there were joints being smoked at well. The guy next to me gave me a look of “do you notice?” and I just shrugged my shoulders. Nobody seemed shocked.
    I am happy Adam gets to have fun going to concerts, and at the same time he can take some notes on what other artists do.
    I think Sam Smith has excellent PR and advice. It was a short but classy and well-done concert. He can certainly sing (sounds just like on the record), and comes across as very likable.

    True. Somehow it has quickly become cool to be a Sam Smith fan. It has never been in the same way cool to be an Adam Lambert fan. I think this is in good part the American Idol factor. But it is changing slowly but surely I would say. The sheer fact that Adam is still around (and gets to sing with Queen) gives him cred. And of course he has cred among the handful in the business who actually know and care about singing.

    Seeing the audience in that three-song Tokyo vid seems to indicate that Adam’s appeal outside the US is in a different category than the home-grown one. Idol doesn’t seem to factor in as a negative there.

    I wonder who Ray is in the picture from the concert. mom’s boyfriend, relative, or industry acquaintance? Question And maybe Mom would take a drag or two of weed as she seems pretty relaxed and open about things. Neil really favors his mother in looks.I wonder if he still has the same girlfriend. He hasn’t had much too say lately on Twitter. I think I’ll check and see if he has an Instagram account. Great picture as everyone looks so happy. Grin

    Morning. Thanks glambotgram for posting the makeover vid. Leila certainly has lots of natural beauty that has just gotten better and better over the past 6 years.

    I have to say this is the first time that I found Neil attractive. He looked great and he had a huge natural smile on his face. Plus he hasn’t shaved off his hair and stuck an ugly hat on his head.

    I am so over the gangsta look! I am a shallow person who wants to see hair all over Adam’s head again. And I wouldn’t mind if he burned all of his baseball caps. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.

    I haven’t expressed that for several months, just had to let it out once. I know that I am in a small minority so won’t go on and on about it.
