After a busy September with an abundance of positive reviews of Adam’s appearance with Queen and on Avicii’s “True”, October should be a quiet month. He will be busy on GLEE but those shows will only be broadcast starting in November. Let’s hope for leaks and treats to keep us chatting – as if we needed an excuse!

    Cannot bring myself to look at or listen to Cyrus’s singing of Wrecking Ball but I enjoyed Eli’s version. Don’t care for the song so much anyway. Too dramatic. I like Stay much better for that genre of music.

    I LOVE Madonna. I’d never want to meet her because, as Cher says, she can be quite a b*tch, but that takes nothing away from her as a game-changing artist (Tolstoy was a sh*t to his wife – War and Peace is still a great book.)

    I can’t find Madonna’s comments on Miley’s twerking escapade nkd but a friend of mine who adores Madonna and Cher is Really Angry at both of them for publicly criticizing Miley. He thinks they should get it; that she’s a kid etc.

    Someone on MJ’s yesterday said that Cher apologized for commenting. Not what she said; just that she had said it.

    Sinead’s first letter was a good one. She has since lost all proportion. Guess this is the female version of Drake/Kanye/Chris Brown confrontations. Less brawl; more bawl.

    RE: Adam as nemesis on Glee – if the rumour about Starchild being a member of Kurt’s Madonna cover band is true, Adam might not be playing evil at all. If Kurt is creating a band, he probably intends to showcase his own talent (totally fair assumption.) When the rest of the band hears Starchild’s amazing vocals Grin , Kurt will get a life lesson: top of the class/school doesn’t translate to top-of-the-world.

    Agree about Stay versus Wrecking Ball, luval. Adam has burned his version of that song on out brains forever. So sad that Jaren Leto chose Stay for his iHeart performance. I love him but not that.

    BTW, I saw Dallas Buyers Club at TIFF and Jared Leto is amazing as an HIV-positive drag queen who becomes an unlikely friend to Matthew McConaughey’s character. Both of them deliver performances of a lifetime. Bet they are both going to get Oscar nominations at the very least. Can’t say win because I’ve no idea what other performances are out there.

    If Jared he doesn’t win, he will give the BSA winner a massive run for his money.

    Good morning, TLKC! And the lurkers! Guess everyone is sleeping in this morning. Watched Eli’s cover and then Miley’s, then Adam’s iHeart WWTLF. Thought Eli and Miley had excellent vocals but nothing compared to the master. Adam’s vocals just stay in your mind and I am still hearing WWTLF long after I listened to it. Can’t even recall the melody of Wrecking Ball. It is truly unbelievable what hearing Adam’s voice does to me …
    I’m off to watch Episode 2 of Glee but I’ll be back!

    I enjoyed the Beatles episodes of Glee. All in all I have enjoyed the show, I don’t think any of them are Adam worthy in the vocal dept, but it will be so fun seeing him on the show.

    Not a lot to look forward to in this years crop of new shows, at least as far as I have seen.
    The comedies all look like just rehashed old shows. Has anyone seen anything worth watching?

    What did Madonna say about Miley, I didn’t see anything. She definitely has no reason to criticize, after some of the stuff she has put out there. I love Madonna’s music but she has been as raunchy and trashy as they come at times.

    I can’t stop playing the iHeart videos either. Just bought an HDMI cable so I can watch them on my TV. WWTLF is out of this world.

    Can’t find any Madonna comments online, glambotgram so I’m going to ask my friend if he might be mistaken. He will be happy to hear about Cher’s second thoughts, though.

    I enjoyed Glee too. Feel sad that the ratings were worse this week than last. Cory’s episode may help but doubt it. And if you don’t have a Neilsen ratings box or whatever it is they use these days, then I don’t think Adam’s episodes will help either. I think the show has just run it’s course although there still is one more season after this one. The competition from new hit shows like The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams is killing it. May they should change the night.

    Glambotgram, I have started to watch The Blacklist with James Spader and only because a friend recommended it. Haven’t got through a whole episode yet. (On hulu) it’s been picked up for the season so I guess it’s a hit.

    Thanks for the interview link, HK fan – it was great! Just watch Glee Episode 2. I liked it and the Beatles’ songs were performed well. The only thing I didn’t like was the rushed Santana – Dani storyline. From a little kiss to Santana’s girlfriend. Wish they had stretched it out over a few episodes. And I think Rachel should have received the part knowing that it was likely that she’d be the understudy to a famous actress to soothe the investors’ fears of an unknown (a la Smash – it would be much more believable!)
    As to the season’s new shows – I like Sleepy Hollow. I’ve seen a bunch of the new shows and am not impressed. Very sad to see Megan Hilty on Sean’s show – just reminds me of how much I miss Smash. Was happy to hear a Smash shout out in Glee – wouldn’t it be great if they incorporated some of Smash’s storyline and characters into Glee? I know, I’m livin’ in a fantasy world.

    I think the main problem with Glee now is the split storyline. Even watching it fast tracked as I did(4 seasons over the summer) I find myself just wanting to see the New York people, not so interested in the high school people anymore, except for the staff. The students aren’t as engaging. IMO

    I tried the new Robin Williams show, meh, not very funny.
    I will check out the other suggestions, thanks.

    I have been watching Justified on Amazon Prime an I really luke it.

    I like Blacklist. Revolution is really good couple cute guys on there but so funny cause it doesn’t make any sense at all and the forums that snark on it are so funny.
    I have watched Revenge from the beginning really like it.
    Otherwise can’t wait for Hannibal to come back on the best cast and thought provoking show ever. I suggest to watch the first 13 episodes.
    The singing shows are bland no outstanding talent. But we already found the best talent there ever will be!!!!!

    That Eli Lieb cover is just terrific. I actually like the song. I greatly dislike the image that Miley is putting out now, I understand it is for PR, she has said so very blatantly, but, enough already.

    Her rants and attacks of mentally ill celebrities need to be stopped. Her “people” need to just put an end to it. The responses of Sinead O’Connor, who is bipolar, also need to be stopped. She may not be able to stop it herself. Acting to excess is common with this diagnosis. In fact, many celebs are bipolar, diagnosed or not. The “manic” tendencies tend to lead to high levels of creativity and energy. Getting treated can “dull” the creativity. That’s why so many celebs and “regular” people don’t get treated. ( Well, one of the reasons).

    The diagnosis is often made at Miley’s age. I hope she is OK. I just wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up in some kind of rehab some day herself. What is clear is that she needs some brakes put on her ego. And she’s doing SNL tonight. And she’ll probably kill it, nail it and be fantastic and get great reviews.

    Oh, and the girl can actually sing. If she can last longer than this vile stage she is in, she can sing. it’s kind of interesting to me to watch her career.

    Sorry. This Miley rant has been building. The twerking thing was just–well–attention whoring.

    The twitter attack against Amanda Bynes, who is still in rehab for her mental illness ( Not drug rehab) is simply uncalled for.

    I would love to see what Madonna and Cher have said.

    This week’s crossword…The iHeart performance continues to get rave reviews and was shown for 2 nights on The CW. But what was extra special was the Green Room interview where Brian and Roger talked about Adam being “Like Family“.

    More promo. From the Dallas Observer. Who pays for all this promo? It is in papers and billboards. Commercials will be next. This is the promo level he got for GN. Interesting.

    I am curious if this is some sort of popularity or draw level test. He has sold a little less than half of the capacity. He sold around 1,000 instantly and I know it is still super early but I hope it winds up selling well. Close to 3,000 capacity. I know Maroon 5 played either last New Year’s Eve or the year before but can’t tell how it sold.

    Could be something like this….I don’t have the patience to read it all right now but the gist seems it could be a possibility.

    Something changed because when he was here in July 2012 no billboards, no ads, no commercials, nothing. Whatever it is it seems very positive. Billboards are not cheap.

    I had mentioned the Nielsen ratings in an earlier post. I was actually selected about 10 years ago. Have no idea how it happened but got this package in the mail with a booklet (or diary as they call it). For one week I had to fill out exactly what I watched every evening. It was fun the first couple of days but then I got sick of it and started making up what I watched. Smile I would just pick shows that I thought I might enjoy and filled in that spot. So you can see how the whole thing is a crock if there were other people like me.

    Miley is doing what has worked so well for others, and she probably feels some pressure from TPTB to go there. I like what Annie Lennox said. When these female stars act slutty, they might think they are empowering their female fans. That’s obviously the interpretation that the music business likes to promote. In reality they are perpetuating stereotypes that a woman’s value is defined by her sexual attractiveness.

    I really liked Eli Lieb’s cover of Wrecking Ball. Very nice. I think I’ll buy it on itunes. Eli sings well and has a nice voice. He has an appealing tone and good pitch. But if I’m being honest, I want him to use more dynamic range in his voice – it seems like he’s singing at the same level of intensity in every song. He could convey so much more emotion if he varied his dynamics within songs and between songs.

    This is just another thing that Adam does so masterfully – the way he deliberately varies the dynamics, phrasing, tempo, and tone of his voice to convey meaning and emotion.

    I don’t wanna burst any speculative bubbles, but I think the “so much is gonna happen here” in Lee Cherry’s tweet is because his Cherry Soda Studios just either remodeled their studio or moved into new studio space. The Cherry Soda Studios instagram account shows new equipment and someone painting the logo on the wall, and the caption on the picture says “Office 2.0. Ready for action,” so I think they’re just excited about all the things to come in their new studio space – I don’t think it necessarily refers to future happenings for Adam specifically.

    Regardless, I think it’s cool that they chose to display Adam’s album. It shows that Lee is proud of his work on that album, just as Adam is proud of his work on that album. As they should be! Smile
