After a busy September with an abundance of positive reviews of Adam’s appearance with Queen and on Avicii’s “True”, October should be a quiet month. He will be busy on GLEE but those shows will only be broadcast starting in November. Let’s hope for leaks and treats to keep us chatting – as if we needed an excuse!
Enjoy the chat!

Last night at Bootsy Bellows, Samuel Larsen performed live to celebrate the birthday of one Isabella Lu, plus a couple of openers.
Adam’s face is quite slim now, he’s looking a lot like some of his pre-Idol Citizen Vein-era pics when he was very skinny. At least now, he doesn’t appear skinny to me – hope he is keeping up the Pilates, it’s doing wonders.

What’s nice, too, riskylady, in the closeups in the rehearsal vid, his skin looks wonderful. No fear any longer of going without makeup, it appears. Just great.

  3. riskylady says:

You’re right, ulti, he looks great. I bet we won’t see makeup anymore, other than the odd, once-in-a-while touch of eye makeup/lip gloss for parties, or full out stage makeup if he does any performance that requires it. Or, Halloween lolol – prepare for another version of a vampire…….

I was going to stay out of this discussion but just had to say I could not agree more with wyked (and Texas). Adam was the star. Fun was the added bonus. There was no doubt who the lead singer of Queen was and who they want to work with and who they will work with. Fun got to live a dream and I thought, after my initial irritation, they added to the show. I watched the shows again and Adam got TONS (really more than anyone else)of screen time and praise. Queen + Adam was the major act of the entire CW show and I loved every minute. Come on he DOMINATED on FBG.

I also have to say if it wasn’t for Queen, I would have forgotten about Adam. I had no idea what he was up to until the EMA’s and it brought me back. If that happened for me it will happen for others. His future is wide open and he just keeps proving his talent and winning over new fans as he goes.
I really believe he has turned the corner and is headed for great things. I am an excited and happy fan.

Is it New Year’s Eve yet?????? Smile Smile

wyked Sent you a note on the planning site

And hello from me, too, MaggieMagoo – memorable name – are you an ice-cream lover? Maggie Moo’s? Stores here in Maryland – don’t know if nationwide. Good stuff.

  6. Ellessay says:

I was disappointed in the CW edited version of the iHeart festival, but only because they left out Adam’s WWTLF. I think most of us feel that if more people heard him sing that, they would love him as much as the long-time fans do. Nate already had songs with his band, so we could have lived without the STL, and substituted WWTLF. Nate would have still had Queen-time with FBG.

Otherwise, I am thrilled he was included in the festival, especially since he and Queen don’t have new music to sell, although I think Roger has something new out.

The good thing was that I kept seeing them refer people to their website to see more music, so if anyone was impressed with the Queen + Adam collaboration, they would have been able to track down that video of WWTLF.

I don’t care about radio play since I rarely listen to the radio. But that was one thing that Adam mentioned back in the beginning–that he wanted to be able to turn on the radio and hear his music played. I think there was a video of the first time he heard himself on the radio showing how excited he was. So I want it for him, if that’s HIS measure of success.

That was such a cute video, Ellessay – think he was a passenger? in a car when it came on the radio.

  9. riskylady says:

Agree, aely. Plus, I always like a fresh pair of eyes, so had hubby watch night two with FBG. He had NO knowledge of what would be on, so I was pleased to hear him say Adam definitely was the insider on that stage, and he also noticed how Brian staked his claim to Adam lol.

  12. TLKC says:

David Arquette is a bimbo LOL! I was thinking the bathroom at Bootsy Bellows, too, so you weren’t the only one to go there glambotgram but, if so, WHY was David peeking? Grin More likely we got a PG lap dance. Where is that tape – erased or under lock and key?

Just wanted to add to the iHeart positives. Did you notice that during Nate’s performances with Queen, the screen over the stage showing the live tweet feed for #iHeartRadio and #iHeartRadioFestival was full of “Adam Lambert + Queen”. there was nothing anyone at iHeart could do to change that. Big Smile

@iHeart’s post-event tweets suggest they really got the message about Adam’s fan base. Even the move of FBG to the second night was probably a reaction to the size of our twitter footprint during the live stream. CWTN and iHeart probably realized they could get us to watch two nights of television by that simple move.

Live-tweeting Adam’s performances lets people know he has a substantial and plugged-in fan-following. If a ticker-tape is up it is extra advertising to the masses of people who are tuning in for other acts. It certainly can’t hurt and imho shouldn’t be under-estimated. I’m going to keep doing it, anyway. Big Smile

  13. TLKC says:

Appreciate your comments about Adam and Queen, aely. The association with Brian and Roger certainly helped me to keep up interest in Adam through the second half of last year. IDK

For Glamberts who are Queen fans, this association is a very big thing. Our view is admittedly sku’d, but there is potential gold in reaching out to casual Queen fans.

Adam needs to focus on his own music but he also needs to pick up audience. The real money is in live shows. Legacy acts dominate the annual Top 10 concert box office revenues. Older male fans who kick out big time for concert tickets aren’t a bad place to start audience-building, especially if Adam is contemplating a bit more rock.

wyked_whyspers thank you for your lovely post.

By the time I read through everyone’s comments I’m usually just sitting here shaking my head in agreement, laughing, and grateful that so many kind, intelligent, and funny folks have found there way to this blog via Adam. I actually had a strong urge to tweet my thanks to him yesterday for making my life so much richer.

    Have a great day everyone.

  15. rs says:

Hi adamized, I am on my way out of the house but I just checked in for a final peek at the blog before I leave and read your post. Couldn’t agree with you more.

  16. glambotgram says:

but, if so, WHY was David peeking?

Maybe he wasn’t peeking but just observed Adam standing 6, 8, 10, or 12 inches further away from the facilities than he was. Big Smile Wink

  17. TLKC says:

Hee hee! As ulti would say “cackle”!

  18. TLKC says:

Pulling myself out of the gutter for a moment to say that wyked_whyspers lovely take on how Adam fits with Queen in the general public’s mind and how beautifully he has made a whole lot of diverse and interesting people friends for life is so on point. Looking forward to the next four years with all of you….

This is really a good and valid point. When the Duke discusses our travels to see Adam or tells peeps about upcoming performances-live or otherwise-(and believe me, he does this a lot and is better at it than I am!) that’s his frequent approach. Usually it’s w/ people he doesn’t know all that well. If they don’t know Adam or just marginally are aware, he explains it all by starting with the Queen connection, something like ‘Do you know the rock band Queen?…’ THat almost always gets the attention and admiration and interest.

Queen’s BoRap, WWRY, AOBTD, WATC, FBG all in the top 100 Rock songs on iTunes. The two main Hit albums moved up 6 spots each. Sadly, STL not showing up. Cry
    Also, no bump for Fun…..

  30. aely says:

I love to see Queen’s music still selling! When they were announced as an act in the show their Greatest Hits was in the Top 10 albums on iTunes for a week or so. To be fair STL is #158 in rock and Fun’s album in their genre of music – alternative – is #49 with 4 songs in the top 100 and #169 overall.

That said, I don’t think it is a competition and can’t be viewed in that way. Fun performed as Fun, Adam performed as Queen. Both bands should have been more visible as groups and their songs and it looks like that is what happened.

Happy to see Avicii is still in the top 10 albums. I am thinking Hey Brother may get the next single release. It is killing world wide right now. On Spotify in Sweden alone it has 7 million views in a country with 9 million people. It sounds so much like Wake Me Up though so who knows. It has been interesting to watch. Then again, Island Records tweeted about LMD again today and haven’t seen anything lately about HB.

My sister just called and said “GUESS WHAT I JUST PASSED??? A HUGE BILLBOARD PROMOTING ADAM AND HIS NEW YEAR’S EVE CONCERT!”

    She said it looked good….YAY!!

  33. nkd says:

Looking at the itunes charts for Rock, there’s hardly any new music listed. It’s almost all classics. Maybe the current rock bands are being classified as alternative, like Fall Out Boy, etc.

    Yay for the billboards!
I wonder how long before I hear from my daughter in Dallas that she’s seen one. I haven’t mentioned the concert to her yet.

  34. TLKC says:

YAY! 2,000th post! Thanks AL. Glad I used it to anticipate the NEXT four years of Glamily. S’pose I could change it to next 2000 posts but don’t want anyone slitting their throat at the prospect of that. Grin

Riskykady you’re a real card. Think those are crocodile tears for STL.

YAY! for Queen sales increase and YAY! for Texas billboards.

  35. ultimathule says:

I wanna billboard, too. Preferably with that pic up top.

@crazyforadam He shows up in 504 on Nov 7. We love him!

    @Anndrea13
@KalanaFalana are you still doing the behind the scenes vídeos for glee? We haven’t got one yet!

    Kalen G ‏@KalanaFalana
@Anndrea13 Yes, they will start with 504 but a couple spots (for Adam & Demi) will come out first.

  39. luval says:

ultimathule, guess I mean Trespassing but add Sleepwalker live to the mix. And get a label too or it could never happen.

  40. ultimathule says:

What’s 504, nkd? Does that last tweet mean behind-the-scenes spots are different from the actual show? Thanks.

  41. nkd says:

    ulti…Season 5 episode 04
I think they mean some behind the scenes clips.

There is one thing about LMD: Of the songs charting on iTunes from the album, it is the longest at 5 minutes, and unlike traditional tracks for listening, has a longer 45 second dance intro and a lot of just instrumentals.

The others, like WMU, Hey Brother, Addicted to You, You Make Me start out with vocals only seconds into the track. Even Liar Liar too.

LMD is FABULOUS in concert and as a dance track but I think it needs a serious edit to be a single for radio/just listening purposes. I wish he would do it soon – hope he doesn’t miss the window of opportunity. Katy Perry has 3 songs in top 5 right now on iTunes, Miley has 2 in top 10 – all released close together, striking while the iron is hot.
