After a busy September with an abundance of positive reviews of Adam’s appearance with Queen and on Avicii’s “True”, October should be a quiet month. He will be busy on GLEE but those shows will only be broadcast starting in November. Let’s hope for leaks and treats to keep us chatting – as if we needed an excuse!

    Good morning, ALL! So great to see a post from eywflyer! We missed you! Honolulu seems like a wonderful place to live and you are definitely closer to LA and any California events. We met at WB and I can’t thank you enough for this site. It’s a special part of my life. Would love to have another Adam concert in WB – it would definitely be a sellout!

    Here are my thoughts about Adam. I agree with eywflyer about the label. He needs a label to move forward with new music/ablum/EP. He also needs a label if he is going to tour again. Honestly, no label, no tour, no promotion. However, what we don’t know is what is going on behind the scenes. I have read over and over how long some of these deals can take, so taking 6 months or so I don’t think is a huge deal. If he can’t find a major label I find it hard to believe a more indie label wouldn’t sign him. He has a core fan base and can sell CD’s in the range, if not more, than other artists on their labels and can at least pull in an audience of 1,000 per venue. I think the hold up with an indie label may be his international following and touring. Can an indie label afford a world tour? Or even a few shows overseas? Also, indie labels usually promote tours in bars, colleges and much smaller venues. Again, he is so hard to put in a box it has to be a challenge for any label. A 360 deal is probably his best bet or sign with someone like Live Nation. All of this takes time. We have enough tweets from him and other artists he is working with that we know he is working on new music.

    I don’t believe he is going to fall suddenly into obscurity and start doing kickstarter shows and gigging in bars. He has more of a name now than he did a few years ago. He is doing his thing and making connections all over the place. Queen, Avicii, Nile, iHeart, Glee are all very respected, high profile projects he is associated with and their love and respect for him make him even more respected and in demand as an artist.

    Bottom line, is he going to be Madonna, Katy Perry, etc.. probably not, but he keeps getting these great gigs, the media loves him, and he is not afraid of working hard – his time will come (some might argue it is happening now). If all these other less talented people can get a record deal with much less media presence than Adam, he will work it out. He has a fantastic team behind him and lots of dedicated fans around the world and that is a major plus in this business. I would bet there are a TON of artists out there that wish they had Adam’s “problems”.

    Sometimes I think it just helps to put reality with our huge expectations and settle on the middle and look at his future half full instead of half empty. I sure wouldn’t mind being in his glittery platform heels!

    Very well-expressed, aely! I think that Adam’s appearances on Glee will be a big boost to his general fame and reputation. Episode 5 is all about Gaga, Katy and Adam and is being advertised as such. Putting Adam up there in the same category as Gaga and Katy HAS to be a positive. At the very least, he’ll get more hosting gigs and be invited to give out more awards (a la Kate Hudson). And don’t forget about Idol – the new producers have a lot of love for Adam and I’m sure he’ll continue to have some involvement there. Maybe the label delay is because they are working out a re-release in some form of the Trespassing album. Still hoping for a holiday release of Lay Me Down!

    aely, spot on! We have been reading so much about how the biz is changing, there is more than one path nowadays. Adam works hard at staying visible, and still gets good gigs. Make-a-Wish is great exposure with a high profile crowd, BleauLive was done by Katy, Gaga, Maroon5, and Queen is on the horizon. I want it ALL! Plus, Glee looks like so much fun! His WW fanbase is a bonus, not to mention his footprint in China. His weibo numbers have skyrocketed from 170k three months ago to 472k now!

    Adam is still listed as an artist on RCA’s roster. Perhaps waiting for a contract to expire or something before announcing another label.

    nkd I think it means one of two things.
    1. They just haven’t updated their roster. I think his contract was up in December when he “parted ways” with 19 and just held on until no compromise was made and then was dropped officially.

    or (and something I have been curious about)

    2. He is still with Sony and he is changing labels under the Sony umbrella. Like Columbia or Epic. That gives Sony the same rights to him internationally. It happened to Avril. I looked it up a few months ago to see if people move within a parent company.

    It is NOT on the cover of TV Guide. I subscribe, got my Nov 4-10 issue today and the cover is Blacklist’s James Spader. The Glee gang is the page after that…right above the listings.

    This is exactly what I thought, HK fan. To me it looked like he walked in as his natural self, found a wig in a box in the pile of boxes backstage (costume too). Nice that he was it in, though.

    Of course, if I do hear anything I will post about it ASAP.

    Last post mid September. Looks like they just paid for the year and then either they will shut it down or Adam’s management could take it over. It looks like nothing has been updated in a few months from what I was reading. I guess if he goes to a new label they would want to make their own site.

    We normally get Glee only a week behind the US, but the new season hasn’t started here yet….it hasn’t even been advertised, normally its advertised to death for weeks in advance. i hope we do get it eventually. Looks like I will have to settle for youtube for nowFrown

    Everybody put on your seat belts, it’s gonna a wild ride of a week!

    We have Halloween, and it should be a dilly!

    We have Glee…and I just…can’t!

    I also have a feeling that with Glee, there will be some big announcement coming about what else he will be doing.

    I just wouldn’t be surprised at all if:

    If The Sound of Music is a hit, which it absolutely will be IMHO, there will be more TV movie musicals.

    If JSC doesn’t go to the big screen, I predict it will be remade for TV. Same with Wicked. I totally see Pia Toscano as the green witch and Megan reprising her role as Glinda, and Adam as Fiyero.

    I also expect an announcement soon about Queen. It is going to happen. We are all just waiting. Some more impatiently than others ( points finger at self).

    I agree with all positive thoughts about Adam. Glee is a door opener, Queenbert will happen and Adam is already quietly signed while something(?) is going on in the background. He may not ever be as big as some pop stars have become but good karma and magic follow him and all we have to do is wait impatiently to see what path they take. I love riding the Glambert bus. Smile

    Mils since your reminiscing about Hawaii GN, I loved it all but since the picture of Adam getting lei’d I remember so fondly that Goatie,knowing it was my first trip to the islands had a hostess meet us at the airport with the most beautiful lei for me that I saw while there. I wore it several times, but kept it in our room fridge. It kept so well I was even able to get it past customs and back to the states. I think Calgary from here was there and I wished we’d have met her. Madness glad to see you here again

    Question
    aely, thank you for your thoughtful and articulate post re Adam’s future prospects. I think that we will always want more for him than he will achieve, but I also think that he does and will take pride in his very significant accomplishments, both in and out of his profession…no need to cry on his behalf. As we have pointed out many times, even if he never earned another dollar he could still manage to stay in fashionable boots.

    To keep things in perspective, though, I was talking with a friend today who has never heard of Adam (I rarely come out to my friends as a fan of any pop music, much less Adam.)
    We are still in a bubble…but it is getting bigger.
