After a busy September with an abundance of positive reviews of Adam’s appearance with Queen and on Avicii’s “True”, October should be a quiet month. He will be busy on GLEE but those shows will only be broadcast starting in November. Let’s hope for leaks and treats to keep us chatting – as if we needed an excuse!

    That link that ulti posted yesterday about the pianist who went to youtube to promote herself and has found a large audience online prompts me to post these two stories, too. They’re different, but speak to how music artists must create a multitude of ways to reach their audience with their music, because the old ways don’t really work anymore.

    Re: Robbie Williams being snubbed by Radio 1 in the UK because they think he’s too old at 39. He’s a huge star in the UK, but even he can’t get airplay. The program managers at Radio 1 sound pretty ruthless about deciding what does and does not suit their audience. Sounds like they have Muse in their crosshairs as well:

    Lol, well, I’d rather be Sleeping Beauty, and be awakened by that Prince Charming! Can you imagine opening your eyes to that “appalling beauty”? Yes, getting more gorgeous with every day. I’m thinking he has some arrangement with Saint Laurent, wearing a lot of their things lately sooooo well, starting with that beautiful VMA suit.

    LOOOVE Queen’s choice for Freddie! He starred in a wonderful BBC series called “The Hour.” It’s about the startup of an unheard-of hour-long news show back in the fifties, with some political drama thrown in about the Suez Canal. He’s wonderful in it, tons of charisma. I recommend it, 12 episodes. He was also good in Skyfall.

    asif, I watched it on TV, but I saw by Googling it that it’s available on some online sites such as Hulu, SideReel, tv.com, Amazon, and iTunes. Some are free, some not. Maybe others have experience with any of these sites?

    AL Getting communication from Clear Channel is a really good sign. Live Nation is a “spin off” of Clear Channel and is one of the biggest world wide booking agents. They share some of the same people on each companies Board of Directors. I posted an article about Live Nation a few weeks ago and artists are giving up record labels and signing with them. It was very interesting. Curious if that may be something Adam is looking at doing or they are a part of “offering” concerts to Queen.

    I think iHeart and the massive positive response Adam received is really helping his cause. Shoshanna is heading to LA tomorrow so who knows what is happening. She loves Adam and has done great things for him and his career and I can’t wait to see what is next.

    Adam does seem more confident and happy the last few weeks and I think there are amazing things ahead. He has a great team around him that are working hard to see him have the success he wants and sees for himself….good times!

    I remember that article you posted, aely. I think it mentioned some of the other entertainers who have signed with them. Madonna maybe? And Nickleback was another. Great article. Music and the way it operates seems to be changing sooooo fast now with artists taking hold of their careers…not the labels.

    Looking at that Halloweenie guest list, seeing a face that I just watched a little while ago. I recorded the Queer Eye Reunion. I see you Jai Martinez. I remember Adam or Jai saying somewhere that they were old friends from LA club days.

    Was anyone else here a fan of Queer Eye? I never missed it, so funny, naughty, sassy, and even touching. Really groundbreaking too. The reunion show was pretty funny, and quite revealing.

    Jeebus, who isn’t Adam connected to? I really think we should make a Six Degrees of Adam Lambert game.

    Loving all the possibilities of Queen + Adam. It just gives me a thrill I have a hard time putting into words anymore.

    On another note, my workberts are Berting out. They are now asking me for MOAR! Hahaha. They don’t even know what they are asking for. ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL

    There’s always more more and MOAR!! Adam is a gift that just keeps on giving.

    What I especially love is the little sideways glances they give me in the hallways after I have sent them something delicious. It could be audio, it could be purely visual, be it aural or eye candy, they give me a knowing smirk, I nod back, and sometimes we go and flail in private. I just love this so much.

    There is going to be a show about how Napster changed the world. I think it will only be available online. I don’t have more info, but I saw some ads for it last night.

    More evidence of how things are changing. I asked son #1 to offer me some tech assistance in burning a CD. I didn’t even think twice about it. I could have told my friend to order his own CD from Amazon ( not Adam guys, don’t worry ), but instead, just burned it. I was thinking i was being generous to my friend, but in truth, am hurting the artist.

    What was son #1’s response? Eyeball rolling. ” Jeez mom, what does anyone do with a CD anymore?” My response was ” they listen to them in their cars.” More eyeballs. ” Why don’t they just use their IPod through aux like I do in your car?” My response ” Well, everybody doesn’t have an IPod.”

    He said ” In my world they do.”

    lol, mils….I LOVED Queer Eye! Have recorded the reunion and will watch tomorrow or this weekend. Yeah, I remember Adam and Jai being friends. I think every one of the guys is still doing something now in their particular field. (not sure about Kyan Douglas) Thom Felicia has a vacation home near me and is always appearing somewhere around here with his decorating expertise.

    That is so cute about your little glances, etc. In a professional setting it’s so nice to have a little secret!

    One of these days I’ll attempt a Six Degrees of Adam, mils. Wish we were closer so we could do it together around the kitchen table!

    Yes, with a link to the Brian May interview. I emailed him back thanking him for contacting us and asked what we could do to increase the chance of making a tour happen. He didn’t answer that but did say that they get some good AL (Adam Lambert not me) info sometimes and will gladly share it. Of course knowing Glamberts, we will have that info long before hand! Smile

    But, yes, they all are very successful.

    PS. When you watch, look out for Carson’s tie. Love it. I also thought that Thom was especially cute and funny. It was so nice to see them all together again. Hope to see them do more sometime.

    BTW, one of my workberts casually mentioned that she has watched Kiev several times. With her jaw hanging on the ground. And she has invited friends to watch it. All are stunned and amazed, male and female.

    Well, mils, let him know if you want to listen to a truly beautiful voice, you buy it in the least compressed form and play it with first-class speakers. Listening to music in a compressed mp3 form is convenient, and I use my ipod for music in the car. Kids today use music as background to their lives – the beat – the lyrics – that’s what they care for. The notion of stopping in your tracks – and just fully listening – is not the way most of them operate.

    And, yes, if you have good speakers in your car, use the CD for Adam.
