After a busy September with an abundance of positive reviews of Adam’s appearance with Queen and on Avicii’s “True”, October should be a quiet month. He will be busy on GLEE but those shows will only be broadcast starting in November. Let’s hope for leaks and treats to keep us chatting – as if we needed an excuse!

    I’ve seen Velvet Goldmine a couple of times. It’s hard to watch because the plot and timelines jump around a bit, IMHO.

    But it is well acted and has impressive sets, choreo, and costumes. The cast has all become quite famous. The movie is a visual excess, on purpose, and the songs are actually pretty good, including 20th Century Boy. It’s Bowie, TRex, Iggy Pop, and glam all over. It’s also sad.

    In a way it reminds me of Eddie and the Cruisers.

    It’s amazing how many of those styles and images Adam has replicated over the years. When you watch the movie, it’s like peeling away his layers.

    Okay. Just watched that video. I have seen those pictures of him wearing that so now I know where they came from. I also knew of the Zodiac Show and have seen the one with him wearing feathers singing A Change is Gonna Come. I really liked that one. His emotion was unbelievable but I thought he sang it much better on Idol.

    He looked great. His make up and costume are really amazing. Here is my honest opinion, I didn’t love the song and he is such a better singer now. His breath control now is amazing comparing it to this song. I would love to hear him sing it now. He is still better than most anyone but I am so used to hearing him now, it just sounds weird to me. Maybe if I watched more videos and got into it more. I guess that could be a tomorrow project. Don’t be mad at me! I love him now!!!

    I agree aely, he’s much better now. As I said earlier he just gets better and better, and you would expect growth from his mid-twenties to now in his thirties.

    Oh yes, nkd totally agree! I think I would have probably thought differently if I had watched all this years ago. It just sounds strange now, almost like it’s not even him in some way. It is interesting though. Thanks for sharing!!

    Still think it is a perfect part for him to play and it might help him segue more into rock for his next album.

    I like this theory for Adam’s character on Glee, posited by “No Thanks” over at MJs: Smile

    As far as being Kurt’s “nemesis”, I could see Adam kind of taking over Kurt’s band and it drives Kurt crazy. Let’s say the rumor about Elliot (Adam) being Dani (Demi)’s brother is true. Kurt has the band idea – he invites Santana and Rachel to be a part of it. Santana, in turn, brings in Dani. Rachel has to bow out because of “Funny Girl”, Dani suggests her brother, Elliot. Elliot drops by the diner, and he seems mild mannered and non- threatening and Kurt agrees to let Elliot come along for the ride.

    Eliiot comes to their first band practice and Kurt asks him to sing just to see what he’s got to offer. Elliot all of sudden turns into STARCHILD and glam diva’s his way through “Marry The Night”. Kurt just about poops his pants.

    Suddenly, Elliot has all of these NEW ideas that have NOTHING to do with being a Madonna cover band. Dani adores her big brother and is willing to go along with his ideas. Santana adores Dani and follows her lead. Suddenly Kurt is outnumbered and ticked off.

    The next few episodes is Kurt trying to wrestle control back of HIS band and failing miserably at it.

    Actually, this sounds very similar to a theory you put forward a long time ago, mils, with very few spoilers to go on! You may have been prescient!

    I have The Velvet Goldmine dvd, have watched it a couple of times. Had never heard of it before Adam mentioned it, but I enjoyed it. Its a bit strange but good, and like Mils said a bit sad. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is gorgeous (loved him in the Tudors too).
    You can really see where Adam got many of his ideas, especially pre Idol.

    Aely……a little secret, I’ve never been a big fan of Crawl Thru fire, or or many of the Citizen Vein songs.

    The new Glee spoiler seems to make so much more sense than the previous drag queen one. Not too long to wait now, and before that the new series of The Walking Dead to keep me going….

    Morning folks. Phew…..I think I’m caught up now. mmm222 provided me with some blog updates during our day out today as well as more wonderful tidbits about her and luval’s experience at iHeart. As G– is my witness I will never let another Queenbert experience pass me by again!

    I am getting so excited for Glee I can barely stand it. Find myself once again wishing away weeks of my life. There is a possibility that Adam will be at the Hollywood Bowl with Avicii on November 8th. At least that is a small rumor….

    Not sure I mentioned it but thanks to nkd and Texas I have a ticket for NYE. Hope Adam breaks out the “Crazy” pants again.

    Funny, I used to think Adam was so good looking that he couldn’t get much better looking. But now I compare how he looks now to how he has looked before, and it’s amazing. Somehow, astoundingly enough, he just keeps getting better and better looking all the time! Where will it end? Just how good looking can he get??

    I have had those same thought, cwm. My favorite “professional” look used to be the 2011 Grammys (I am not counting the spontaneously captured pics) but now it looks so “made up”. Still gorgeous, of course, but he looks so much better now. I think that Adam is like a fine wine. He will just keep getting better and better as he matures.

    Totally agree about the 2011 Grammy look, rs. Used to be my absolute favorite look for Adam. But it has been eclipsed so many times by now with various red carpet and other looks over the past year or so. Very flattering hair style, more subtle use of make-up, maturing of his face, improving his build, amazing clothes – all of it just keeps getting better and better.

    HK Fan – #10 looks like it could be Adam. Could also be Robin Thicke, though. He has kind of a similar profile with the hair and build.

    There’s speculation out there that Adam’s character’s name, Elliott Gilbert, has “bert” in it on purpose and that Adam might have had something to do with the name – very clever way to play on the importance of the word berting to Adam’s fans.

    From there an amazing leap: Adam suggested Elliott because – well – Eli. LOL LOL LOL!

    Honestly think Glee’s writers are smart enough to harness the meaning of “bert” without Adam’s help but, heh!

    Hate to say it but in my mind Robin Thicke took the spot that Adam was meant to occupy in the POP music firmament. That the culture would adopt a visual copycat singing a sexist song by Pharrell is just so predicatable and sad.

    Honestly, I think it is a combination. Small part Adam and his tweet. Bigger part Eli copied Miley on his tweet about the cover which I am sure her fans watched. After all her video has almost 199 MILLION views and is VERY popular and probably THE most talked about song right now. Eli also put it on iTunes and it looked like it was a professional video.

    Talking about fan videos here, Adam always has 10 + videos of the same song on you tube and views are really scattered. Stay got a lot of views without hardly any extra push.

    Regardless, it is cool that OMG insider is crediting Adam and his pull that the video got that many views. For some reason I just read fans are pissed and tweeting OMG insider telling them so…..WHY????!!!!! Why question the media that is giving Adam free PR on TV? Makes NO sense to me. We need the media on OUR side. They are on OUR side with this. Confused. Any thoughts?

    I agree with you aely, not sure why fans would get pissy about this.
    Even if it’s not Glamberts giving it the views, it’s kind of great that they think we’re powerful enough to do that.

    ETA I sort of misread the omginsider tweet, stating that Glamberts are Eli fans.
    Well, not necessarily, but angry tweets to these media outlets just gives Adam’s fans a bad image, IMO.
    However people are free to speak as they please.

    That anyone could see any similarity between Adam and Robin Thicke is beyond my comprehension. The only thing I see when I look at Robin Thick is his father in that sit-com all those years ago, and it is the farthest thing that I can imagine from the sexy, beautiful man talented man our BB is.

    Who remembers that? OMG. My whole family was weeping in our living room, watching that on our big TV set.

    I’m posting the link here rather than bringing over the information, in case some of you don’t want to be spoiled. Truth is, though, there’s likely to be so much speculation and discussion here and everywhere prior to each episode I think it’s going to be difficult to remain unspoiled! Do we need to come to some kind of agreement as a community regarding revealing spoilers?

    That reminds me AL – I’ve been meaning to ask… What are you thinking about regarding organizing the blog re: Glee? Will there be separate Glee threads? Maybe a new thread for each episode, or just one Glee thread overall?
