As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.
After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. I would love to see Adam with longer hair again. That really would be a change. So many artists look alike now with the short sides, high top. Winter’s coming and it’s time for a new look! Adam (and Abreea) could do it. A different, imaginative, longer hair style. After all, I’m all about the hair.

While we were talking about Season 8 earlier, I wasn’t aware that a different Season 8 contestant has just won the title of Miss Mississippi State University (main campus is about a mile from my house). Jasmine Murray now holds that title, and one of my dinner guests brought the school newspaper with the article over for me tonight. Some of you may recall that Jasmine was the first contestant voted off. I’m thinking they had the Top 13 that season. So Jasmine definitely is continuing her education even though she still does some singing gigs here and there. That’s nice to know.

Our power flickered for about 3 hours last night in the high winds and finally went out completely at 8 PM. We are still without power, cell phone service or a land line. Other than wind, rain and no power, Annapolis fared well in the storm. We were really lucky compared to NJ and NYC. I am staying at the hospital tonight since I’m on duty and have no phone access at home. Fortunately things are quiet at the hospital, so I’ve been able to entertain myself by catching up on all the posts while my husband and cats are at home in the cold, dark house. What a sacrifice for me! I don’t have any audio here so the Texas Tango videos will have to wait. The posts about the concert were interesting. After the last 2 concerts I went to in DC and Phoenix, I also had the thought that Adam had to get his band working together more cohesively before he went on tour. The main problem right now is the lack of a decent drummer (Isaac, where the heck are you?) and the not so great back up singers. Adam is way too talented to make do with a mediocre band. I did like the band he played with at the Hammersmith. They were definitely up to par. I wonder if they’re available???

So sorry to hear that you are without power at your home. I am hoping that it will be restored quickly, so you won’t have to suffer too much. I’m glad you have your hubby and cats to keep you company. My niece is without power right now in NYC and expects to be this way for a while. Her mom (my sister) just booked her a room in a hotel for tomorrow night. No hotels were available in the entire city for tonight. Ugh!

Let me start this by thanking Eywflyer and AL for administering this site. I am very grateful for all the hard work, time and effort you both put into keeping this site available to Adam fans.
On a more serious note, I feel compelled to share some of my thoughts with the many who frequent this site.
Some of you know me from here, a few I have met in person. And as always, you can choose to take this to heart, or with a grain of salt, whichever is best for you.
“I’m distressed!” Some of the recent postings, many from last night’s performance, have left me disturbed. I think sometimes we forget that things we say (type) can have a ripple effect. Often opinions (which by definition are actually judgements) are spouted in such a blase fashion as though what’s being said will have no affect or negative impact. A negative opinion is simply a negative judgement….which leads to my distress: Adam has admitted to jumping into blogs/sites etc. like this one, if only to check the pulse of his fans. It offends my sensibility that he would ever have to come to this site and see some of the recent posts. I thought this site was built to be a positive alternative to the other troll-filled, fair-weather Adam sites, and for the most part this site has met it’s goal. Just thought it would be prudent to take stock of the tenor on the site. Nip it in the bud so-to-speak, and hopefully keep it from running off the rails.
Adam is a grown man, who is very intelligent. He works tirelessly for us, his fans. Whether you agree with him or not, I’m certain he is making all the right decisions for him and his career…(back up singers, change in drummers, hiring Brian London). I’m dismayed that your “faith” in Adam sometimes seems to have conditions. He doesn’t have conditions for us, he can only HOPE that we can be kind and grateful fans that won’t impact him in a negative way.
There’s no doubt that last nights concert was brief and “free-form” (to put it candidly). However, as the phrase goes: shit happens. I would like to believe in instances like these that we could simply take a beat and move on, all the while feeling grateful for the many times we’ve seen him either in person or in the thousands of videos that lovely people have posted on the web.
He is doing the best he can, busting his ass 24/7 to be successful, and I for one will continue to support him “sans speculation”. I think he’s earned that respect.
I realize it’s late, and I may be rambling a bit, so I will apologize if I’ve offended any of you, it was not my intention. Was just hoping for a little enlightenment.

Reese – thank you for your thoughtful and well-articulated post. I agree that it’s important that all of us always stay aware of the tenor of this site and to think about the impact of what we say before we post a negative opinion. That said, I do think that people should be free to speak their minds honestly here, as long as we do so thoughtfully, respectfully, and supportively – of Adam and of each other – and avoid tossing off negative remarks glibly. And I think that Adam would respect an honest opinion, even if not positive, as long as it’s respectfully, constructively, and supportively stated. We do owe Adam that respect and support because he is clearly doing his best to bust his butt for his fans and for his music. I think the vast majority of time this site is positive and supportive like that, with just occasional and temporary forays into mild disappointment or frustration.
I, for one, really love his current band. I love Brian and the energy, musicality, and funk that he’s brought to the table, Ashley is a great fit, and I really like the breadth of sound that the divas bring as well. I do hope that Isaac’s departure was only temporary, because I really like him a lot, but I guess we’ll see what happens with that. I think we’re in a temporary rotating phase right now with the drummer, but someone will settle into a permanent seat and then once permanent, they’ll settle into the music more solidly.
Everyone and everything sounded fantastic to my ears in Phoenix last week.

And Reese, thanks for your post. And I agree with some of what you’ve written, I often dislike the negativity, which is why I don’t post on 24/7 so much anymore, there’s a few people on there that always spout real negative, shitty comments. But on the whole I find the people on here very articulate, polite and respectful when they are giving negative repsonses to something. And while I know we are all mad fans of Adams, I don’t agree that we have to love every decision he ever makes, or to love every band member. And to be honest, I wouldn’t mind if he looked at the comments on here, I think all the posters here are wonderful examples of his fandom, and maybe it would be good for him to see what good, honest fans are thinking. Afterall, it all comes from a place of love, we all just want him to have the best band/singers etc possible beacuse he is so amazing and deserves it.

So glad the storms are abating. I have an image of mmm222 sitting at the hospital waiting for the lights to go back on at home and am hoping that the predictions of up to a week of power restoration are stating the worst possibility and not the best. Also a bit worried about glambotgram. Doesn’t she live in one of the NYC boroughs? We haven’t heard from her in two days.
On a lighter note, I hope that Isaac will return; not only because of the drumming quality – I just like him.
I also have a picture of Ron sitting at home, all dressed up and nowhere to go; wish I could go out with you, my dear, but this is the busiest work week of the year for me. Next year, my event is November 8th and I look forward to a full blast Hallowe’en. (God willing…)

HK fan….agree with your post. I too hope Adam peruses this blog. I don’t like some decisions he’s made, clothes he’s worn, etc but we can say that of anyone in life and others can say that about me. I think Adam would agree and accept that. I’m sure most entertainers who have fan sites like this discuss the same issues. It’s not personal just opinions and I think that’s what sites like this are for. Opinions and discussions…good or bad.
TLKC… I believe that glambotgram has children and grandchildren living in the DC area. I certainly hope that all is okay with her family.
