As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.
After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. I was talking with my friends about possibility of Queenbert in US and they ALL were hoping for concert to be in Radio City Music Hall (NYC) that has capacity similar to London venue and has an excellent acoustics and visibility. When I mentioned MSG their reaction was “yuck”!

I completely agree with riskylady – despite obvious challenges, I don’t think there’s cause for doom and gloom re: Adam’s management and RCA support. RCA is supporting the release of Trespassing with the release of a loaded EP. They wouldn’t do that if they didn’t believe in him and it. Don’t know when we’ll get the music video, but Adam has promised it, so I assume it’s coming. Adam’s management has scored him a role on PLL next week, the cover of yet another UK fashion magazine, RoveLA for the Australian TV audience, The Voice of China for the Chinese TV audience, gigs all over the world, etc. No, he’s not on US TV at this very moment, but he will be next week, and who knows, maybe an Ellen appearance is forthcoming. Adam played the radio promo game all spring and summer, and look how many spins it got him. I think RCA and his management are trying a broad-based approach that includes an end-run around US radio in case it doesn’t embrace Trespassing (which it may not). So, they are getting him played in stores, on airplane playlists, in movie theater lobbies, in dance clubs, getting live gigs, etc. I would like to see him on TV here more, though, that’s for sure (Ellen, SNL, late night shows).
I couldn’t help but notice when Adam was interviewed on the Chinese 80s Talkshow about how to become a superstar, he spoke again about how different the music and radio worlds are from the TV world, and that he feels like he’s doing a lot of guessing a lot of the time. He’s so dang honest – even to a Chinese talk show audience, he’s telling it like it is.

Oh, and I think it’s important that NBC for example mentioned Adam on the Today show (they have totally ignored him for ages), CBSNews has been having mentions, his Ring of Fire being used for promo on NBC, his name brought up in multiple articles about the DC Equality concert – just good publicity happening. The AMAs have been tweeting about Adam. I guess we have to be patient, but I expect good things to keep happening.

Dear Ron, I loved your story about Streisand, was not aware of her struggles. I always liked (still like) her looks – she’s uniquely attractive. But then, what do I know?
Oh, yes. Struggles. Many doors slammed in her face. Comparatively speaking, it wasn’t that difficult a road for Barbra, although at the time it must have seemed that way to her. It took almost 4 years from when she started singing (which she was LOATHE to do) in Bars in Greenwich Village to starring on Broadway in “Funny Girl”.
More to the point, Barbra’s first three singles were total flops!
The second of them is this one (a rare live recording when she was 21 years old) and it’s my ALL TIME favorite that made me first fall in love with Barbra Streisand.

Hi everyone! I haven’t posted in awhile, but I lurk everyday.
Just wanted to thank riskylady for sharing her knowledge of the “biz” – although I wish I could hear Adam on my local radio station, I know in my gut that he is building a career, carefully and methodically, both here and abroad. When he first came off Idol, I envisioned so much for him – product endorsements, stadium tours, etc. But I realize now that I was naiive – there is more than just one definition for “success”. I think Adam has achieved success.
I went to the gym today and listened to the “Adam Channel” on Pandora… the “other” artists on his channel were Pink, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, One Republic, Maroon 5… made me realize that there really isn’t anyone like Adam! I wanted to skip all of them. And also noticed that Pandora doesn’t play anything from Trespassing – I’ve only gotten songs from FYE (but they’re good!).

Last week Kenny Rogers was on Q. He said it took him 20 years in the biz to get his first big hit…I know times have changed, but Adam will be okay. He is already an international star, even if not in his homeland. Now I’m gonna go order my EP

Yes, he’s out of the country for the radio ADD but he will probably be home by Sunday night and ready to do promo on the Trespassing EP for the 16th. Plus, he is probably doing a bunch of Jingle Balls.

If I can add my two cents, I also believe that promo for Trespassing and the EP will start once he returns from Australia leading up to and centered around his PLL appearance.
I would love it if Glee would put one of his songs in the show, Pop That Lock maybe. As much as I don’t really need to hear it sung by others it would be such a boost. Look at the fun. song they did last year. Had any of you heard of fun. before then? We Are Young has gone multi-platinum and their album is selling very well. I like a few of the songs but it is nowhere near Trespassing as an album.
Someone asked Ryan Murphy on twitter about using an Adam song or having him on and he answered, I love Adam, but offered nothing else.
BTW, Adam started following Adam Shankman recently. He produced, directed, and choreographed Rock of Ages. Interesting.

I have to be honest & say I’ve never liked the vampire teeth look on Adam. All the makeup, lipstick (I think)…don’t care for it. Yet I loved Glam Nation look. Someday hopefully we’ll see him on the small or big screen underneath all that stuff. He’s been looking so fine lately.

And…well…gotta say that from the clip, it looks almost like he might be sort of coming on to her? (shakes head) That was just uncomfortable for me. And yes, I know that Rock Hudson played leading men. Exclusively.
I think the difference for me is that we are only now finally being able to be open about sexuality, and at THIS point in time it seems a bit regressive to have Adam coming on to a chick. If in fact that is what the script calls for. I could be totally premature in my prissy condemnation. Heck, I’m just beyond thrilled to see him on the screen (except that I will see him on youtube) doing anything at all!
So never mind.
I can totally understand a viewer coming away from that scene with the “he’s hitting on her” vibe. However, I believe we heard somewhere that Adam is actually playing himself in this episode. This then leads me to believe that he is just being his charming, sweet self chatting with a girl — pretty much like he would do with any of his female friends. Very innocent to me in this light.
ETA: It is also very hard to interpret when these clips are taken out of context.
We’ll probably need to wait until the episode airs before fully comprehending Adam’s role in all of this, other than singing of course.

If he is coming on to her it doesn’t bother me. It’s just acting. Shouldn’t he be able to ‘act’ any part? Look at Neil Patrick Harris in How I met Your Mother. He cracks me up, I totally buy his character, even though I know he’s gay in real life.
Oh, I know. And intellectually, I agree. But…it would seem unfair to me for his first TV performance to be untrue to who he is in such a fundamental way.
But I am thinking that dcglam is right about the role.

I don’t know about this episode but Adam should be able to play a straight man as easily as a straight man can play a gay man. It is acting, and people play all sorts of things that they are not.
She is a pretty girl sitting alone at a table during a party. He could just be being nice and attentive, and then encourages her to go see him sing his next song instead of sitting there alone.

Information from folks on Twitter and Adamtopia who have been contacting radio stations indicates that Trespassing has not officially gone for adds, at least to this point. Given that Adam clearly stated this week as the add date, I think we have to conclude that this single does not have support from RCA. If there’s going to be a music video I’d guess that Adam will have to pay for it from his own pocket.
Unsurprisingly given the situation and track record of the previous two singles, Trespassing did not receive any U.S. HAC adds this week. There were a couple of Canadian adds (CKBT Kitchener – Top 40, and CISS Ottawa – HAC). With 98 of 157 stations reporting, the song has not received any U.S. Top 40 adds this week.
All told to date, the song has 6 U.S. HAC adds, 3 Canadian HAC adds, and 3 Canadian Top 40 adds. It has not yet charted on the U.S. or Canadian HAC or Top 40 Mediabase charts (top 50 in each format).
Considering all of the above, it’s somewhat confusing to me that RCA IS supporting the EP release. If they are going to release an EP, why not go ahead and support the single too? I don’t get it.
I guess it’s also possible that Trespassing will officially go for adds at some later date, but I doubt Adam would have gotten that info wrong. Perhaps they are hoping for an organic buildup from requests and countdown shows, since going the official add route hasn’t worked too well for the last two singles.
The fangs seem to make his smile unnatural and awkward, or the script was awkward.
He is to be playing himself so maybe it’s his party and he wants his guest to have “fun”. We know that’s of great concern to him. How many times has he asked, “are you having fun?”
I can’t wait to see him on my TV, and hear two songs played!

I would think there would have to be some lip syncing for a tv show set in a train car, but I think the video clip may not be properly in sync. Adam would not be off by that much.
