As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.
After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. My station still has WWFM and IIHY on their request lists. They haven’t played WWFM much anymore. They used to play it every 50-75 songs for months and months.
And, they have Elvis Duran on in the morning now. Seems like they got rid of the annoying local female DJ. She was awful, but she liked Adam.
I have a question.
So I notice that our guy is traveling again out of the country on an important release date. I don’t understand the timing of these things.
He was in London I think for the CD. He was in Europe for BTIKM. He was in some country for NCOE. ( Somebody here knows, I’m sure).
Why was today chosen for a release date when he’s on a frigging plane to OZ or NZ?
Why isn’t he here in the states on several TV shows and radio interview shows??
Could somebody please explain this to me like I’m a fifth grader?
Hate to say this but I have no idea where that picture was taken. I have always been a fan and went to 3 Glam Nation concerts but did not follow him closely until last year after the Queen EMA’s. I forgot how much I loved watching him perform live and Queen is my all time favorite group,found this site. Couldn’t stand that other site anymore and remembered the thread from Dec 16,2010 that had thousands of comments. I remembered because that is my BDay and looked up the thread and then found you all. Hooked ever since.
I just assume that I will never hear Adam on my local radio, censored or not. (kicks toe in the ground, thoughtfully) Hmmm…it is rainy and dark here today, it couldn’t be made much worse by another confirmation that Adam isn’t on the playlist. Maybe I’ll go see…

BTW, I haven’t seen a political ad on TV at all since the primaries.
My daughter always requests the green bean casserole, although I prefer a fresher version. The youngest likes the marshmallows on goop. My favorite sweet potatoes are simple baked ones. mils, your recipe for sweet potatoes sounds wonderful.

Does Adam have A Manager or is it a team of people looking after him who are supposed to have his best interest at heart?!?? I’ve never been clear about this.
My eyebrows went up to my hairline with the release of “Better Than I Know Myself” questioning how, of all the songs on the CD, THIS was the first choice that Management thought would be the best thing to do.
I’ve had any number of question marks along the way and do wonder who he is being handled by and making decisions for him.
IMO, whomever he/she is (or they are), they’re not doing a very good job.
If you knew the story behind Barbra Streisand’s manager Marty Erlichman … NO one …NO ONE … wanted to hire her after some initial success and acclaim at a couple of Greenwich Village bars in the early 60’s. It had nothing to do with her talent but everything to do with her appearance. He pounded the pavements for her, phoned and phoned and phoned, wrote letters … did everything he could to promote her. Barbra couldn’t get a record label to sign her because of her appearance. But Erlichman pushed and pushed and pushed. As they say, the rest is history.
I don’t see … of course I can’t see … I mean to say that I just don’t sense this kind of energy and determination being directed at Adam.
And.it’s.frustrating.

I was thinking about Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson who became really popular in Europe first, and then they shoot to stardom in US.
Maybe this is a path for Adam. I have that uneasy feeling that even if Adam started his TS era with “Grenade” and “Rolling in the Deep” the US radio would not play him just because…

Re: why he is not on every show promoting “Trespassing”? I really don’t know what budget RCA has for his third single. He worked his ass off with BTIKM and NCOE and it didn’t help.Maybe this time TPTB decided that situation in US woould be the same and they are concentrating on Intenational Adam.
To be frank I’m surprised that there is third single. Maybe this is “I’m sorry” from his label for making cowardly and WRONG decisions regarding his first two singles? He should’ve start with TS followed with summer songs like Cuckoo or Naked Love.
And Running sould’ve been included in the regular album. But this was unfortunately Adam’s decision and he admits that he was wrong using it as a bonus track.

I wonder if “Trespassing” fan video contest was a kind of promotion practically for free. It was also a way to find out more about his fanbase. To contrary of popular belief his fanbase is not made exclusively of fat middle-age fraus.
I can’t help but make parallels between Barbra’s early career (and the bias she faced) and Adam’s still early career … and for a number of reasons.
This is one of them and it might be a bit controversial but I’ll substitute this word for that word in my earlier post and I come out with this …
It (not being on talk shows or played on the radio) has nothing to do with his talent but everything to do with his being gay.
In spite of big steps forward, it still comes back to this.
I wish I was wrong but I think I’m right.
For the record, I LOVE escargot in garlic butter and it will be my first choice for an appetizer when dining out!

The EP date on iTunes/Amazon, etc. is Oct. 16th – Adam will be back in the US because he has Phoenix on the 17th. Then, 12 days free (except for PLL on the 23rd on TV) until Texas on the 29th. Could be some TV in between, but honestly, he just did a whole series of radio shows & concerts in September crisscrossing the country that included Trespassing, so I don’t know…..
It does seem that the label is definitely heading in the int’l direction, and if my Google searches are any indication, he is becoming very well known in many countries, some he hasn’t visited at all. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, in fact, he seems very much loved, with fansites springing up like mushrooms. Still, I’m not worried. Performing live is his pot of gold, and he still puts asses in the seats, with his reputation as a great live singer. There was an article in the recent EW about a) dance music taking over radio (Adam’s EP is right there) and b) how touring is the money-maker now. I think he’s making money, that’s all I care about. Don’t care about the charts. IMHO.
I think the single decisions rest mostly with the label, not his management. His management is keeping him busy and performing, in magazines and visible in other ways like RoveLA, PLL, interviews. Surely RCA would not come out with an EP (and such a nice, loaded one!) if they didn’t believe in Adam. They must be doing jumping jacks of joy in Sony/RCA after that China success!!!!
Btw, Trespassing dropped out of iTunes Pop 200 for 3 days, then popped back in on Friday at #192, Saturday at #184, yesterday at #172 and today at #171. Slow, steady….

I feel down in the dumps with all of you, and I agree with what is being said re mistakes that were made, but also re the pink elephant in the room. Nevertheless Adam has already accomplished a lot, and even if he will always exist “over there” and not get that superstar status that we dream of, I’ll always cherish him as a really special singer and person. That’s my line for right now. I’ll buy all the EPs I can, I go to every show I can, and I’ll just have to see where it goes. Ultimately, as long as he is happy, it’s all good. And there is certainly more than one way to be happy.
