As October begins, Adam has just announced the official radio add date (October 8) for Trespassing, which is the title track and the third U.S. single from his album of the same name. A Trespassing EP with a radio edit and album remixes will also be available on October 16. After limited success for the first two singles from Trespassing, Adam likely needs this third single to be a hit in order to continue onward with the Trespassing era, at least here in the United States.
After an October 13th concert date in Australia, Adam will return to the U.S. for a pair of dates during the second half of the month, on October 17th at the Arizona State Fair in Phoenix, and on October 29th at the Texas Tango radio concert in Grand Prarie. I remember when Adam covered Starlight on tour, I have always loved Muse, and that song especially. Anyway, when looking at You Tube, on the Muse versions there would be comments about Adam . On the Adam versions there would be comments about Matt Bellamy.
There are Muse crays just like Queen crays. Matt Bellamy is widely considered one of the best vocalists out there. I agree.
But. WE know that he’s gone nuthin’ on our boy. I still love Muse though.

I read a review of Muse’s new album that basically said they were channeling/copying Queen, Bowie, etc. and also the one in EW (C+ lol) saying it’s full of Queen-isms. That bass at the beginning of Panic Station is pure Trespassing IMHO.
I love the double-standard though in the comments section: If Gaga copies Madonna, OMG! If Muse channels Queen, oh, well, everybody copies everybody.
I loved Muse’s prior work, but not loving this. If I want to hear Queen, I want to hear QUEEN.
Re Brian May’s Twitter: Right after he did his first tweet, he was asked why a personal twitter, and replied that he wanted to be able to get the word out more about his issues, especially the badger cull.
The govm’t in Britain has authorized farmers to start shooting badgers, on the premise that they help spread Bovine TB among cattle. This is easier than trapping and vaccinating them.
Brian wants them vaccinated. The badgers of course were infected with the Bovine TB BY THE CATTLE. But they are more mobile going from pasture to pasture. He thinks it’s inhumane to kill them off, plus they are part of the ecology.
He’s very passionate about this, has been on radio, TV, town halls, etc. etc. all over Britain.
Similar issue with hedgehogs, I believe, but not Bovine TB.

I watched Joseph’s video a few times a couple of days ago and was very upset by it, especially since I spent my childhood in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the same place where he is from. It always seemed to be the ideal place to grow up, a combination of Northern liberalism (most of the families were imported from all over the country to work in the national laboratories) and southern hospitality and warmth. It was like a little safe enclave in the midst of the turmoil and hatred at the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement. I was certainly pointed out and noticed for being in a minority (one of 100 Jewish families in the town) but not bullied. I know that times have changed and this is a different fight, but it is sad for me to think that things like this happen in my childhood home.
rs sorry that Joseph’s story hit so close to home for you. I’m not sure that any place is free from bullying of one type or another. I grew up in a small town in Ohio where I too was one of about 100 Jewish families. I wasn’t bullied for being Jewish but certainly felt very out of place at times. For many of my classmates I was the only non-Christian they ever met. It isn’t easy being different when you are young. I love that Adam has been an inspiration to young people who feel like they don’t fit in.
I loved Joseph’s video when I saw it the other day, and I was so hoping that Adam would see it and respond with a retweet or a comment! Joseph is so articulate and honest and self-aware. His video is going to be a beacon of light for a lot of kids, I am thinking.
As a teacher in a high school, I am constantly confronted with the cruelty of my students to each other and what I can do. It is such a fine line…too much protection and there is backlash or escalation. (shakes head) In the best circumstances, other kids, peers, will stand up and stand together, but that requires a level of bravery that most teens haven’t developed yet.

The best I can hope for sometimes is just to be a safe harbor for a hug or a word of encouragement when needed. Even though it isn’t enough, I have seen it mean the world to a child to be embraced (figuratively or actually) by a trusted and admired adult.

I just can’t even imagine what Joseph must be feeling knowing that Adam has not only seen his video, but has tweeted it out.
I also wonder if someday, Adam would plan to meet with kids he has helped along the way, without even trying, just by being who he is, and by putting his message out there, and by being such a positive role model.
I also remember, as do all of us, that when he first came out of Idol, he was so outspoken about not wanting to be political or a role model. As a mom and fan, I am so proud of his personal growth. I just hope he feels that pride coming from us fans.

Ron Thinking back to how my mum cooked sweet potatoes before the days of microwave – she put them in whole or maybe cut in half in a pot of water and boiled ’em til done – then slid the skins off and mashed them. You have done it the hard way! Think of all the energy you have expended though, the hard work you’ve done – it will make every bite that much tastier, and give you better reason to take a break and do some ALL research!
Adam, as in the rehearsal vid, just about always moves his body to the music – have noted this from his early days. Even when the people around him may not be moving, he usually is. Musical to the core.
