Well, fall has arrived and it’s time for our October chat thread. This is the sixth monthly chat we’ve had on the site. Thought about using a Burning Man photo for this month, but decided to continue with the Adam getting awards theme with this photo of Adam and Leila at the 2nd annual PFLAG National LA Event.

Still hoping for a new single sometime soon, but maybe not this month. Enjoy the chat!

Agree with riskylady about a female collab with Adam. His frequently mentioned choice – Aguilera – IMO is not right for him now – he needs a younger, fresher voice – not someone who’s been around as long and is probably more on a decline than an ascent. And singing with her – or even P!ink – would detract from him as a new and upcoming artist – not dependent on more established ones to establish his reputation. Adam must be the focus – and, with his brilliance – it’s only appropriate.

I hope Adam at least sells as much or nearly as much as FYE so that he can beat the dreaded ‘sophomore slump’ for Idol contestants.
I just want everyone to see Adam the way we do. And I do think the tide is turning, most articles about him are far more positive nowadays than they used to be, as are the comments on the whole, there are still some that make me cringe, especially on certain sites (looking at you Perez!), but I just don’t bother looking at them anymore.
Talking of articles, there’s a new one at Flecking Records (always very supportive of Adam), about his charity money. One of the comments has a link to the breakdown of all the charity donations.

10/3/10 – after enjoying a well deserved six day break, the international Glam Nation Tour kicked off a string of five dates in Japan at the sold out Bottom Line in Nagoya:

FYE was added to the opening medley beginning with this show, appearing between Voodoo and DTRH.

Okay, okay…that’s enough depressing convo about our BB. We can’t have it both ways people. We all wanted him to find his Viking and be happy, right? So, he did and he is and we should be so thrilled for him. IF, it has taken him a little longer to release his second album because of it, oh well, and I say that’s OKAY since I know he is more inspired because he is in love and fulfilled (I just smile when I think of it…so happy for him.)

Also,we cannot loose sight of the big difference between Adam and so many artists today. He has the voice of a generation, unequaled really and yes “balls of steel”. (sorry, forgot who said that). Those two things are a great combo to success in this industry. Keep in mind, although we all loved FYE and the GNT, it was the result of the best that was available to him at the time to launch his music career…it was not what he would have chosen for himself if he had the ability to take his time and record what he really wanted to say to us and the world. He puts a good spin on the first album and again I loved it and the tour, but I look at the situation with the second album this way….if FYE and GNT could of and would have been better if he had had more time to write his own stuff, collaborate more with artists he could chose, just think how good this second album will be.

For me personally, I am not worried, his audience will be different this time around and that’s a good thing. I just want to hear him sing anything, but this time, he will totally own his music and that will be a beautiful thing to witness…I can’t wait. I really think we are in for a treat. I mean seriously, Adam does not disappoint.

He will be on the big shows again when he has released something and they will be glad to have him…why wouldn’t they, he is so lovable, adorable, gorgeous, sexy, articulate, and oh yeah, FREAKIN’ TALENTED!!!!!!!

I am in this for the long haul with Adam and I know there are great things to come for him and his fans. So, be patient, those things worth having are certainly worth waiting for.

Just popping in from lurkdom to say that I’m going to buy the second album the minute it’s available ( actually I’ll probably buy a bunch to give to friends, too) and I’m hoping all his fans around the world do the same without waiting to hear how good the songs are – if that’s the case, then he should sell a million…

I got my Monte’s cd in the mail today. Had totally forgotten I had contributed to his Kickstarter program. It’s autographed and sounds pretty good, mellow. Now if Adam would just hurry up and release his already. Can’t wait!!

Ever since Adam’s “claim to fame”, he has been the subject of numerous online voting polls. As far as I know, he has never done or said anything to encourage peeps to vote for him. However, he seems like a man possessed by the latest MTV — Fan Army Award. This is really an award for us, guys! He keeps encouraging us to vote because he feels so strongly that we are the VERY BEST FANS OUT THERE!!!! I’ve even heard rumors that he wants to be there to accept the award on our behalf!

Btw, did I happen to mention how much I LOVE Adam Lambert?!?!

So one year ago Nagoya, Japan as eywflyer said FYE was introduced after Voodoo! We all missed GN because there wasn’t a show since 9/26. And we were happy for a few minutes of sound from a DH from the other side of the world.

Claude Kelly song, has the lyrics “all along I pretended it was alright to be alone” (think I got it right)

I don’t think this has been posted here yet — an interview with Cam at Autostraddle. It’s a good interview. Among other things, she talks about touring with Adam and a song (Dreamer) that she wrote and gave to him. These are the Adam parts:

What’s the craziest thing you witnessed on the Glam Nation Tour with Adam Lambert?

Oh my god. Do you have two weeks? What didn’t I see?! We’d be in a different city in the US and Europe every day and we just had so much fun. I’m working with him now on his new record – I wrote one song and I’m producing another. I just love him – he’s like a brother to me, really.

Well, I wrote this song I love called “Dreamer” a few years ago and had been looking for a huge, powerful voice to sing it. Originally Christina Aguilera was supposed to sing it, but that didn’t happen so when I started thinking of songs for Adam it was just like “of course!” It’s perfect for him. I co-produced it with Brad Thomas Ackley who worked on Black & Blue and Nocturnes with us and and, even if it doesn’t make his final album I’m just like, oh my god! To have someone with that caliber voice and hear them do little tricks on on a song you wrote.. I REALLY hope it makes his album, it just sounds so amazing. He’s working with these big, huge producers like Pharrell, and then it’s like… us [laughing].

Funny thing about the Claude Kelly song….. I can totally picture Adam singing this.
I like it and feel that Adam would kill it with his vocals. Hmmmm, very anxious now to hear whether or not it is part of his album.

Just listened to “Dreamer”…..
Wow, Cam does have a beautiful voice. Pretty song, too!
I get a little tiny bit of the “dark vibe” in it like what I get from “Sleepwalker”.
Ha…. I suppose dreams and sleepwalking can sort of be related.

Yeah, I can hear Adam in that other song…but I still don’t like it. To me it sounds like any song out there. Like Loaded Smile on FYE, never liked it. But I know some of us really did!

Here’s my theory on the hair. He is starting fresh and letting it take a bit of a breather with the goal of growing it into a thick luxurious new “do” for his upcoming promos. I for one wouldn’t mind having a variation of the emo look but a bit updated. I loved his look on PR and for the Grammy’s as well.
