Well, fall has arrived and it’s time for our October chat thread. This is the sixth monthly chat we’ve had on the site. Thought about using a Burning Man photo for this month, but decided to continue with the Adam getting awards theme with this photo of Adam and Leila at the 2nd annual PFLAG National LA Event.

Still hoping for a new single sometime soon, but maybe not this month. Enjoy the chat!

I know we spoke about this before, but in regards to Grammy talk, he’s probably too late for 2012 even if the single came out next week, so it would be 2013 right?

Oh, luval, please don’t tell me that. 2013? I think I know that eligable nominations begin in February but I don’t remember the cut off date. I thought Adam would be included in the next Grammy Awards show.

Luval, yes I’m checking the count from my phone.

    Hi eywflyer!!

Is this about the 1,000th post? Does that poster get, yet again, another toaster oven? Grin

I think everyone else should just back off on this one LOL LOL because, guess who, guess who was the very first person to register on this blog? I’ll give you a cryptic clue. His name is Ron. LOL

So, in all fairness, this belongs to me and I could use a new toaster oven.

    Thank you. Wink

A bit of a milestone is coming up for the site, it looks like comment number 10,000 (overall in all threads combined) will be posted sometime in the next few days.

    dot!

ETA removed link since eywflyer is still counting…

  5. luval says:

aww Ron, sorry I ruined your night. Don’t worry, 2013 is right around the corner! Smile

  6. eywflyer says:

AL, that’s interesting – the dashboard doesn’t show 10000 comments quite yet. There may be a discrepancy due to deleted comments. I’m going to call the race to 10000 still open for the moment! Smile

Ron‘s very eloquent post earlier sums up my feelings as well. I want to see Adam have such huge success that the naysayers are stomped into the ground and silenced. I am anxious that time is running short – i hope Adam & RCA realize they need to move a single soon.

  7. AL says:

How can anyone be bored waiting for new Adam music when we have so many interesting people here to entertain us?! We came here for Adam but stayed due to the company! Grin

  8. Teri63 says:

I’m sure … aren’t you? … that Adam will be nominated for a Grammy. I hope this CD receives multiple nominations and several wins!

I certainly hope so, Ron. He deserves to win many awards! I was never a huge fan of that Bruno Mars song that beat WWFM. I know less than nothing about music, just what I like and don’t like, but that song didn’t seem particularly vocally challenging to me and was just kind of a boring, anemic little tune. Every time I hear it on the radio, I get annoyed. One of the multitudinous things I adore about Adam is how he embellishes even the simpler tunes with his rich vocals and dynamic range. I think he should have won that Grammy, and I really hope you’re right, Ron, that he wins some in the future!

On another topic, I know we can’t believe all (or much) that we read on Twitter, but there’s some Adam fan claiming to have met Nile Rodgers today and is intimating that Nile said he’s working with Adam tomorrow. It’s a little unclear because she doesn’t come right out to say Nile said that, but she sets the statement off with quotation marks, implying that Nile said it. That would be pretty cool if it’s true!

  9. AL says:

AL, that’s interesting – the dashboard doesn’t show 10000 comments quite yet. There may be a discrepancy due to deleted comments. I’m going to call the race to 10000 still open for the moment! Smile

Should I dot my post then until you determine the winner? Looks like we’re all still in the running. If I win, I’ll give the toaster oven to Ron!

  10. Kradamour says:

This may be just my gut feeling, but I think that Adam is not improving of what he had on his album, something tells me that at some point he decided to start from scratch…

I think you are right, Oksana, at least partly. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since GN, and a wild variety in the music that Adam has tweeted/mentioned in interviews as being inspiring over the course of that long period. Another risk when the production of an album takes too long. Tastes change, including the taste of the recording artist.

  11. Kradamour says:

teri63, I always love long posts! and saved yours to go back and read. Very thoughtful and appreciated.
I do agree that for most of the people on the planet, the timing makes no nevermind at all. They aren’t waiting.
And honestly, for someone who didn’t like FYE, was offended by the AMAs, or otherwise wasn’t a fan, more time is probably better to that peeps may think that he is worth a second look after all this time.
    (shrugs) Hard to say.

  12. milwlovesadam says:

Ron and Calgary I loved your well thought out posts, and I gotta say. I’m just not too worried. Those of us who cling to every thing the man does probably over-evaluate everything anyway.

What I wonder is, how do people like Katy Perry and Gaga and Brittany put out so many singles, before their CD? Is this what they plan for Adam? I actually hope so. Gaga put out two singles before her new CD came out, and one or two more after.

I just hope that Adam does do the AMA’s. And presents his new single. Then that another single will drop, then the CD. Then the tour.

As far as the whole “perfect” debate goes. I think it’s just a word. It has different meanings to different people. I think he just wants what he wants. I hope he’s not over-cooking the songs in the process.

Every time I hear Adele or Gaga on the radio, all I can think of is Adam. They let their voices carry the song. Adam has said that what he learned from Adele is to let the voice come through. Adam’s mom said that there are songs that let him showcase the soft beauty of his voice ( or some such words to the effect). I hope so.

BTW. How much do we LOVE mombert? That video of her out today is proof of where Adam comes from. I was dazzled by her. And had to wipe a tear from my eye.

  13. milwlovesadam says:

Kradamour, your post above reminds me of something I wrote about, about a month ago or so. I had just heard WWFM on the radio during prime drive time on my way to work, for the first time in a while.

When it was over, the female DJ said “What do I want from you Adam Lambert? Another hit song is what I want from you. God, I love Adam Lambert.” Then, I swear, she kind of sighed. It was a true Glambert moment.

I have never heard that DJ, or really any other, ever, say that about any artist.

So, what do I take away from this? That the radio world and the listener is ready for more Lambert. And maybe, the wait, the anticipation, will all be worth it.

All of this waiting is either the best foreplay ever leading up to one climactic new CD and Lambert experience, or, ….. I can’t even think of the alternative.

All I know is I’m not bored. I’m not in a lull. Sure, there are slow times, but, holy cow, he always has something going on to keep us entertained. I mean really, judging a Drag Show in NY? Come on. That picture of him cracking up is worth it all.

  14. ultimathule says:

Listened to the Foxwoods WLL four times in a row tonight (iPod on docking station) – yesterday on the car audio – last night with earbuds on my iPod. Just listening – not looking – completely different experience. Concentrating on the vocals only, I realize what an extraordinary performance that was. And his voice – OMG.

The chuckle at the end . . .

  15. milwlovesadam says:

Jojosie, if you are there, just wondering if you are reminiscing about where you were a year ago? You and goatie sent me a pic of a mai tai….

  16. glambotgram says:

My son in law asks me the where is? or what happened to? question but more to tease me about my Adam obsession cause he thinks he is a music authority! I happily inform him of everything I know! LOL

I will never lose interest, just biding my time here waiting for new music and in the meantime there is always something happening in Adam world and lots of videos to revisit.

  17. JOJOSIE says:

I remembered to wear purple today, hope you all did too. I loved Adam’s Mom’s video too but feel Dadbert should also get credit as I think a father might have a harder time with the issue than a mom. That’s another thing Adam and Sauli have in common is a supportive family. Sauli has worked in his father’s business at times and I heard they are close. Since Adam isn’t giving us news, I’m an Idol fan and am interested in how others are doing. Scotty is really selling well. His 3rd week they are predicting 65K and that he’ll be gold by the holidays. James record co. is releasing two singles to radio. One to pop and one to rock. I like the rock one and it’s going to be played on the jumbotron at all the NFL games. Saw a picture of his band and 4 young very cute guys. I think they are aiming at the young audience. Paul got married to Nikki Sunday. Dress looked fabulous and pictures will be in US magazine. He may not have won Idol but certainly was a winner in another area. Pia has a Christmas song I believe and not much info on Hallie or the rest of the season 10 gang. We are getting some pictures of Adam now and a few tidbits, so I’ll patiently optimistically wait.

  18. Ron says:

I mean really, judging a Drag Show in NY? Come on.

Well, mils, there’s no where to go but up from there! Adam can now aspire to cutting ribbons at the opening of supermarkets in San Diego.

    LOL Kidding, folks! Kidding! LOL

In spite of everything, I am optimistic. I’m not Donald Downer. Smile

  22. JOJOSIE says:

Mils, yes I remember, it was like a dream come true for me. Having not flown in 25yrs (claustrophobic)then meeting goatie and you and deciding to fly all the way to Hawaii. Thank God for Valium and having goatie next to me most of the time. She arranged to have us met at the airport with the most beautiful lei’s and a car. Walking the beach, snorkeling for the first time and seeing Adam from the 5th and 6th rows and again at the fences, meeting so many great fans even some from Japan. Finally eating pineapple with a special person. Mils I still think of you every time I have fresh pineapple. A perfect week I’d never have had without Adam and his wonderful fans.

My, my, we are Nervous Nellies tonight.
People, please refresh my memory: Did Adam really SAY “perfect” over and over, or did he only tweet it once and maybe say it once or twice, and it got REPORTED over and over, and since we read/listen to everything about him, we heard it over and over?
Anyway, we all know he is a perfectionist. This is not a news flash. Remember IIHY video? Acoustic EP? GNL DVD? He’s doing a lot of recording with a lot of different people, last thing he said was 30 to 35 songs, and that was before a few of the latest tweets. Maybe he’ll be able to tweak an album and a couple of EPs out of all this.
I have faith. This guy was able to pick the FYE songs – while touring and traveling back and forth to record. I wasn’t crazy about all the production on the album, but the SONGS for the most part I have grown to love, and so have tons of others worldwide.
Some artists take a lot longer, some take a lot less time. Only Adam has the special pressures unique to him. I think he is hoping we will bear with him – I think we have given him that hope. Impatient, yes, but also eager.

  26. ultimathule says:

Love the Drag video – Adam was having such a great time. Good to see him enjoying himself while involved in the crucial decision of which single to release. Perhaps his problem is just a wealth of riches to choose from – think I’ll go with that – lol.

Hello Lovies, not much to add to the conversation other than the old adage “a watched pot never boils”. I often pledge to myself at the beginning of the day that I will not Google Adam, I will not check twitter, I will not look at blogs….

My pledge never lasts beyond half way through my morning coffee. My impatience stems from my over the top crazy infatuation with Adam and my desire for his ongoing success. Part selfishness on my part for needing a new “fix” and part Jewish Mother, always worrying that he will stumble and hurt himself.

What else to we have to do while we are waiting, right? I come here for companionship in my guilty pleasure, but I really don’t fret (much) about release dates, the why of the length of time it has taken (I don’t even look at it as a delay really). An album to me is like making a cake…take it out of the oven before it’s done and……..If the end result will gain him additional fans and I sincerely believe it will, then I’m happy to hang in there. I am on the edge of my seat, don’t get me wrong;this IS a full-blown obsession we are dealing with here, lol, but I have faith that it will be great in the end. So glad to have all of you to share the experience and the ride with. Smile

    Adam has been working hard.

How much time are you spending in the recording studio?

It’s a tedious process, it’s really time consuming. It takes time to get it right. I don’t know how other artist do it, but for this project I’m kind of adopting the mentality of just keep writing and keep recording as much as possible, and then when we know that we’re ready to decide which tracks are going to be on the album, we’ll look at everything and narrow it down, and when I say we, it’s myself, my A&R for my label, and my manager.

    About Sauli

    When did you meet?
In Finland in Helsinki in a bar after a show I did there.

He is a reality TV personality in Big Brother — so he’s famous.
Which is great because he understands some of the things I go through. It was an instant connection, but I didn’t know [that he was famous] until after we met. I approached him. There was physical attraction but also a great energy, like a glow. There was something very connected about the eye contact, the communication just flowed very easily.

And you went on a date from there?
    That’s all I’ll say. [Laughs]

How long have you been seeing each other?
    That was in November.

    And he lives…?
That’s all I’m going to say. I’ve only been in one major long-term relationship prior to this, and I’m really, really happy. It’s done a lot for me, and it’s grounded me, and it has inspired me as a writer, as a performer, and I just think everybody wants that connection, and I’m really happy to have found it.

He’s inspired a lot. I’m writing about love and relationships. Before meeting Saul —which is a great positive healthy exciting relationship — I had some not so healthy situations. Heartache is great for songwriting.
