Well, fall has arrived and it’s time for our October chat thread. This is the sixth monthly chat we’ve had on the site. Thought about using a Burning Man photo for this month, but decided to continue with the Adam getting awards theme with this photo of Adam and Leila at the 2nd annual PFLAG National LA Event.

Still hoping for a new single sometime soon, but maybe not this month. Enjoy the chat!

Well now I need a throw knitted or crocheted out of Adam Lambert yarn. Then when I get cold I can wrap Adam Lambert around me!
Or go to sleep with Adam Lambert on me! Wink
I could become a “Linus” with my blankie!
Dang now I need to learn to knit! Smile

  2. cwm says:

I think I’m gonna hafta buy me some Adam Lambert yarn and knit a scarf! Smile Perfect fall knitting project!

Welcome back cwm. So glad to see your post again. Missed you and your goodies.

Thanks for the twitter info. All new to me. I saved the links you gave me already.
I’ll start lurking. Eventually, I’ll sign in as cher had given me instructions.

Love Adam’s freckles too. Sometimes, I have a wicked mind, thinking of A & S are counting each other’s freckles for fun.

cwm..I love your post at 12:25, your opinion of BFM and TBS albums. I feel exactly like you.

Right now they are really agressively pushing out these albums in full force. They got their website, to Amazon links US and international for presales, to advertise at radio stations, and press releases. Some media are picking it up now.

RCA will have to do something to protect their interest. You ask for the link, I guess it’s this one, just the adamofficial.com one.

Ha!!! You guys can wear scarves made from WWFM yarn to the new concert. Grin

10/14/10 – the Glam Nation Tour wraps up its Asian leg at Putra Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia:

    http://www.adamlambertlive.org/2011/gnt-kuala-lumpur-malaysia-101410

Adam toned things back a bit for this show in order to comply with Malaysia’s strict laws regarding foreign performers and homosexuality. There were some protests outside by members of a conservative Islamic political party, but no problems in the show itself. After this show, the tour headed to New Zealand and enjoyed a couple of days off.

  5. nkd says:

The Malaysia concert. I remember how concerned we all were, but the concert was great vocally, if I recall correctly. It should have been recorded as a “family friendly” alternative to GNL!
But once he left there, GN was turned up a notch on the naughtiness factor! Woah, fun times! Grin

AQD had a pic of Adam in the blue shirt – scrumptious – whatta gorgeous color on him. Looking spectacular.

    Press release has gone out:

Ew, just got a super-sketchy press release from that scummy label that’s putting out @adamlambert’s unauthorized pre-Idol tunes. #MarkAsSpam

    thefilmqueen Amaryllis
@jambajim @lyndseyparker Just wondering…did the press release say it was “pre-Idol” or Adam’s “new album” or did you even read that far?

    @jambajim jim cantiello
@thefilmqueen “Pre-Idol” but also said “Adam Lambert presents…” What?! Also referred to “Adam Lambert’s band” later on. Sketch aplenty.

kradamour— even though RCA can’t stop the release, do they have any grounds for a ceast and desist on the misrepresentation of the album(s) as “Adam Lambert presents…”?

Thanks for the AO link re: BFM (and your kind words!), asifclueless. From reading the posts there, it looks like Q102, Z100, and all Clear Channel stations have Beg For Mercy posted on their websites as Adam’s new album. RCA is apparently now on it and hopefully letting those stations know.

    Q102 has gotten the message:

    Q102Philly Q102 Philly
Thanks for all the tweets about @adamlambert. We are aware that it is not Adam. Now go vote for him as ur fav Hot Boy. Smile

@frasku We were trying 2 figure that 1 out. Think it’s a corporate feed that auto loads on our web site!! Thnx 4 the heads up #glambertsrock

  8. Kradamour says:

cwm, thank you for the hint to see that photo full size…yum. all the imperfections just make him more perfect. Love made up camouflaged Adam, but also love human freckled little-facial-scars Adam.

Maybe I am reading too much into it, but Adam’s necklace is thrown over his back – to protect baby? Very thoughtful if done for that reason. Or perhaps just to protect the necklace lol…but most of his pendants have points.

  9. Kradamour says:

kradamour– even though RCA can’t stop the release, do they have any grounds for a cease and desist on the misrepresentation of the album(s) as “Adam Lambert presents…”?

Ummmm….I would say not. But if they were to put out press releases or publicity with outright falsehoods, i.e.: Adam Lambert is hoping that everyone will purchase this CD! Adam Lambert is so proud to introduce his new music to his fans! New music from Adam Lambert! or some such, that could be different. IMO, but the beauty of the law is that there are always two arguments to be made. At least. Rolls Eyes

  10. nkd says:

This underhanded sleazeball marketing push representing this stuff as Adam’s new album is what ticks me off!
This is where honesty could have paid off for this “producer”, but instead he decided to use deceit to push these releases and in the process angered an entire fanbase. Frown

  11. Kradamour says:

ITA, nekkid. And I also agree with the poster above (cwm?) who made the point that the producer could have marketed it totally differently, as archived/historical/missing link material, truthfully identifying it as Citizen Vein – perhaps even with Adam’s blessing – or at least not scorn – and likely sold many more copies. This is a perfect example of legal vs. ethical. I still defend his right to do it, but !!!! Frown

We haven’t seen Ron for quite a while. Does anyone know anything? I hope that he is well and just busy.

  12. cwm says:

Yes, krad and nekkid, that was my post and yes, those are my feelings exactly. Such a shame, such a missed opportunity to do well by doing right. Frown

  13. Kradamour says:

Anyone have any idea how much royalty Adam sees for each copy of FYE sold? Wondering how many albums he has to sell to cover the cost of that $735 shirt….

  14. nkd says:

I tweeted with Ron a few days ago. He says he’s fine and will post soon.
    We’re waiting on you Ron!

I also just got a text from TexasWannaHoldEm. She’s been delayed in an airport for hours in adamized area!

For anyone voting in the MTV on-line music competition MTVOMA, the Must Follow On Twitter contest ends tonight at midnight. We got Adam a write-in candidacy, it would be awsome if he also won – I think the award would be presented on TV. http://blog.omusicawards.com/2011/10/categories-closing/

  18. wyked_whyspers says:

Hi again! Thanks so much for all the welcomes and reasonable, rational responses. I agree that it’s okay that we don’t all agree.

In case I rambled too much and wasn’t really clear, I’m not upset with Adam for not supporting the album or the music. I was just very unhappy with the way Monte was being treated by so much of the fandom over something he had no control over and because he chose to be proud of and support his past endeavors even if Adam didn’t. Monte is allowed to be his own person, and his business decisions cannot always be about Adam, they have to be about what’s best for Monte and his family. Believing in his own artistic endeavor is not going to harm Adam in any way, Adam might not appreciate it, but in the long run it’s more an annoyance for him than anything else.

I completely agree about the producer not being ethical and taking huge advantage of Adams new release, but I’m not suprised, he did the same thing last time. Adam’s advertising campaign has got itself a parasite attached to it. But once it’s drawn it’s blood it will fall off and go away with no long term side effects.

Like Monte said, If you like the music buy it, if you don’t then don’t buy it. And if you chose not to because of Adam’s feelings even though you’d would have liked to, that is a perfectly valid choice also. My point being everyone should be able to make their own choices without two tons of garbage being thrown their way.

Okay, this has been fun, but I already have a tendancy to spend way too much time just reading the blogs. If I became a regular poster I am afraid I would never get anything done. This year I have beading projects to get done for Christmas and I plan to participate in the National Novel writing month in November. So my beading has to mostly be done this month and then finished in December. Maybe in the new year I will not feel so squeezed for time and can post a little now and again. In the meantime I will continue to lurk and enjoy this site and all those who post here.

By the way, was very jealous of all those who got to go to Canada, I wanted to so very badly but just couldn’t so even though it hurt it was great to live the experience through those of you that went. Thanks so much for all the wonderful recaps and videos. If I am ever in a position to attend one of those big one-off concerts I will definitely be on here to hook up with a few others.

One last thing, whoever said english was their second language and it took them an hour to respond to my post totally cracked me up. Just so you know, english is my only language and it took me twice as long to write it. Signing off now. Love, light, and peace to all.

whoa! Thought I might knit some things for peeps from the Adam Lambert yarn..that stuff is $30 per skein!!! Rolls Eyes

wyked_whyspers, you def sound like the rest of the posters here in the sandbox: rational, articulate, well-rounded, intelligent, open minded. Sounds like you would have fit perfectly with the Ste Agathe crowd and I am sorry that you could not join us. I totally love this blog and its peeps and now I will include you in my thoughts as I post, knowing you are out there! Smile And LOVE your nom de plume!

Oh. But I think it already has!!!

  29. nkd says:

If Adam showed up on Halloween dressed as an eggplant, I would literally fall out of my chair and may not be able to get up to get back in it! I think I could laugh until next Halloween on that one! Grin
I think he said prob not to a vampire for this year, so what oh what could he be?

  30. nkd says:

I’m still hoping the poncho got lost at Burning Man.

    “(but I mind)”

I mind too. The albums have Adam’s name, Adam’s voice, are coat-tailing Adam’s fame, and Adam is the one with a very important sophomore album coming out. They are even being marketed in Germany (a VERY important market for Adam) and written about in other foreign countries. He has a lot at stake here.
I don’t think Monte has anything at stake. It could be anyone playing background on those albums and I don’t think anyone is buying them because of Monte. And I don’t think either of them gets any royalties, because they gave up rights to the songs. I haven’t seen them registered anywhere, has anyone? In any case, it would be very little money.
Since when has singing “demos” in a style dictated to you “recording an album”? Even the CV songs – if they were recorded supposedly for an album, which I doubt, I think they are the club date recordings – a person recording an album has some say about style, arrangements, final sound. None of this happened here.
So, I totally understand why Adam is pissed, and I agree with him. I am a fan of HIS.
I also understand that Monte likes the songs that he cowrote (but doesn’t sing) and don’t begrudge him that. I DON’T understand why Monte doesn’t at least affirm what Adam has at stake and why Adam is not happy about the timing, etc. Unless, of course, he is between a rock and a hard place regarding his relationship with the record producer.
Monte has certainly benefitted from playing with Adam, I think more than for Madonna. Adam introduced him BY NAME every single night all over the world, and if Monte has a following I think it came from that, not from playing with Madonna. And probably most of the $50,000 raised for his album came from Adam’s fans, who are also a lot of the buyers of the album. Plus, Xena and Juneau helped with promotion. I also bought it, to support Monte.
Still, if people want to buy these, well, that’s their prerogative. I have already downloaded the CV videos when good ones surfaced about a year ago, and made MP3’s. And Crawl through Fire? Really? Can anything surpass the actual performance at the Zodiac?
The Take One songs aren’t even in Adam’s style – not interested. But they are all on YouTube also.
    So yes, I mind too.

  38. nkd says:

    And this.

    JEROMEBELLSINGS Jerome Bell
Just got a call to go into the studio and do a song for @adamlambert Pray for my vocal cords LOL!!!

Jerome Bell was on AI10. He auditioned in Milwaukee. I haven’t looked up any more on him, such as how far he went in the competition.

  39. nkd says:

I think we all mind. I really don’t think that anyone’s post here have said otherwise. At least that’s how I read them.
I personally won’t be buying either of these albums. I also will not judge anyone that chooses to purchase one or both.

  40. milwlovesadam says:

I remember him, just looked at you tube. He was in, yes, my hometown, was just at that spot by the lake today, but I digress, he made it to top 40, got cut in Hollywood it seems.

He was a cutie, and could wail. I remember liking him.

  41. milwlovesadam says:

Okay, so I am soooo sick of the “Not my CD, not my album” controversy. I’m sorry , but, I’m just not that worked up about it.

    Here’s why:

Adam has put it out there that he does not endorse them.

Monte has put it out there that he does. With clear reasons.

Neither of them stands to profit from them.

Monte may actually get musical praise as both writer and guitarist.

RCA has put out disclaimers to top radio stations, and press.

As a result, those “bastard” CD’s most likely will not get airplay, reviews in respectable press, or support from anybody that matters. At least in the US.

Anybody who buys or orders from overseas will be fooled by this, most likely.

Hopefully, the fan clubs overseas will get wind of this, and the “fan army” will not support these CD’s.

Time will tell. But, seriously, I’m not getting my undies in a bundle over this.

And, hey, doesn’t Adam have access to a good entertainment attorney? Wonder if he has any legal recourse at all?

  42. nkd says:

That’s great of Adam to have this little known singer with him in the studio. This Jerome has a great soulful voice. A little paying it forward! So proud!

  43. milwlovesadam says:

I wonder if Jerome Bell got some connections going after AI. He got cut early, but made a good impression, apparently.

Oh. And Hey!! Haley’s in the studio!!! Yay! Loved her.

  44. nkd says:

I loved Haley! I’m excited to hear what she puts on her album.

  45. ultimathule says:

The “(but I mind)” was Adam’s tweet – along with “F****ck” – without the asterisks, of course.

    If Adam minds, I mind.

I’ll wait to hear that he doesn’t mind.

  46. turquoisewaters says:

I checked out the “discussion” under amazon.de for the “Paramount Sessions” – seems like the German fans are quite aware of what is going on here. (And to make sure, I added my own little comments. Finally I can put my German to some good use.)
