So…my newspaper had a prominent article this morning about the CMAs.
Nothing at all was in the paper about the Classic Rock awards, which is admittedly of much less general interest.
Still, I thought at least a line in the entertainment pages might be a possibility.

Well, the thing about 5S is that it, unlike 1D, was actually a real band before becoming famous. Both groups have listenable music – I should know – I hear it often enough – lol.
kradamour, I understand your frustration about the little coverage of the awards show. That damn CMA just takes over everything! For the heck of it I was taking a count of every site that covered the Rock Awards. It’s almost 30 now. As usual they are these blogs that not many people will read but there were some important ones. Variety, MSN, ABC music radio, ET Canada, Billboard. Then the usual ones we see here: justjared, socialite.com, unreality tv, press party, etc.
So it had press but not like the other award shows.
Thanks for that info, luval – was hoping someone would come up with those stats. The five blogs you named are pretty prominent ones – so that’s good.

Hi ALL! Funny little story – ALL was up on the computer when my teen daughter came in wanting me to order something online. She saw sistakrads‘ comment “I do not ship Saulbert” and asked what ship meant. When I tried to explain she said “oh I know what it means. I’m just surprised you do.” I told that one of the fringe benefits of being on this site. She came in a few minutes later and the top pic of Adam in a hat was on the screen. “Who’s that?” she exclaimed and I just gave her a look. “That’s Adam? He looks so different!” So I showed her the Classic Rock Awards photo. She’s always agreed that Adam is good-looking, but her appreciation seemed to be at a new level!! Proud Mama moment!!

And I’m also very happy for getting to see them on stage in January (London, twice) and in February (Prague). So great to spend time in Prague with old and new friends from ALL 
It’s been a very hectic fall with all the travel plans making and other real life issues & problems, but it will be rewarded early next year. Thought of it keeps me going during this dark wet miserable season (though a huge amount of snow came last night, first of this fall).
Stay well all, rs my future room mate especially, it sounds dangerous there, keep yourself safe!

@Kradamour: the Classic Rock Awards may not draw as much press as the CMA but it is a nice item to mention during the promotion of the European leg of QAL.
This whole QAL journey has been an indirect promotion of American Idol as well. Then again… The fact that the mirror website mentions Adam as the winner can be compared with the “ommission of brown M&Ms test” in the safety clause of the contract used by rock group “Van Halen” towards the people of the concert venue….If the brown M&M’s were still present in the requested candybowl in the venue, it means that the safetyclause may not be read that carefully. If they mention Adam as the winner of Idol, it means that others part of the article may not be that accurate as well… (Btw I don’t know if this Van Halen story is true but it is a fun trivia.
