Another month has arrived, and we are all anxiously awaiting the lead single from Adam’s upcoming new album. Will the new single be released this month? Will Adam perform at the American Music Awards once again? I think that Adam’s recent appearance on the cover of The Advocate signals that things are about to start happening again.

Hopefully our long wait is almost over. Enjoy the chat!

    I should take my own advice and never assume anything. With that, I assumed Adam would be the only performer appearing with Queen if in fact that’s going to be part of the program. If I was on the roster of entertainers and was asked to perform alongside Adam Lambert during a Queen tribute, or worse, have to follow Adam, I would vehemently politely decline! Smile Who would want to compete with Adam? Who would want to appear afterwards when Adam finished his performance?

    Well, who knows how it’s going to play out but I’d like to think that Adam will be the sole performer on stage with Queen.

    ITA. I would love to hear him sing The Show Must Go On, as I think it is very appropriate for Adam’s life as well as his powerful voice. If they go for one of the more well-known, maybe it will be my all-time personal favorites Who Wants To LIve Forever. My other favorites are I Was Born To Love You and Love of My Life, and Too Much Love Will Kill You, but they are not likely choices for the occasion.

    ETA: there is not a Queen/Freddie song that I don’t like.

    ETA2: I also love Bohemian Rhapsody, but we’ve heard him sing that already.

    I’m thinking Adam will sing lead on one or two songs with Queen and the others…GaGa, etc will do the same. I hope Adam doesn’t do We Are The Champions since it would be too similar to the Idol performance.

    I hope that he gets his own part and not doing a duet with anyone(except Bowie) because I want all of his voice, full power. When he sings with others he holds back so as not to overpower the other vocalists.

    ITA! We all witnessed that at the finale show. He really had to hold/pull it back when sharing the Queen performance with Kris. I feel that shows how professional (and quietly confident) Adam really is. I can’t wait for whatever is coming!! I still (and always will) love me some Adam Wink

    One of the artists that doesn’t actually sing that well should take We are the Champions – that song doesn’t really showcase anyone’s voice that well and they will actually NEED his voice on other songs instead, JMHO. I am sooooo excited about this!!!!

    LOS ANGELES (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Adam Lambert has been sued for copyright infringement, LALATE can exclusively reveal. Colwel Platinum Entertainment Inc. has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Adam Lambert, solely. The suit was filed in the California Central District Court, here in Los Angeles, on November 1, 2011.

    Plaintiff Colwel Platinum Entertainment Inc. is suing Adam Lambert for a 504 Copyright infringement case. Yesterday, the Court issued an Standing Order regarding service and discovery.

    In filing suit, Colwell has lodged with the court a “Report on the Filing or Determination of an Action .. .Regarding Copyright”. The document reports that an action (CV-09062-PA-MANX) was filed regarding Copyright Registration No SRu00903661 for the work “Beg For Mercy”.

    The matter has been assigned to Judge Percy Anderson. A twenty-one day summons was issued regarding the complaint (discovery). The complaint (not yet available for public viewing until perhaps Friday) is seeking a jury trial. The copyright registration for Beg for Mercy was lodged in May 2009 and lists the claimant as Wilshire Records Limited “by written agreement”, as employer for hire.

    No parties have yet to comment on the matter.

    Thank you nkd, we are excited, this is our second granbaby but the first boy. Our granddaughter has us already wrapped. lol

    I am so hoping for Bo Rap. It is my all time favorite song and Adam would kill it, the whole song. That is when he captured my heart and soul, when I saw his audition singing that song.

    Adam is doing fabulous things in the UK and is with Queen right now.

    I won’t let this bump bother me.

    YAY! Just checked our TV and we get the channel that will have the EMAs on in Canada! YAY! I don’t post much but I guess I am more of a fan than I thought, because I can’t wait for Sunday!!!!! MY hairdresser is European and she says the EMAs are fabulous.

    Okay, peeps, here is the copyright infringement suit as I see it (with totally no knowledge of the actual suit, which will not be public until tomorrow, according to the article).

    From the U.S. Code, this is what copyright infringement is:

    § 106. Exclusive rights in copyrighted works

    Subject to sections 107 through 122, the owner of copyright under this title has the exclusive rights to do and to authorize any of the following:

    (1) to reproduce the copyrighted work in copies or phonorecords;

    (2) to prepare derivative works based upon the copyrighted work;

    (3) to distribute copies or phonorecords of the copyrighted work to the public by sale or other transfer of ownership, or by rental, lease, or lending;

    (emphasis added by me)
    I think it is interesting that the lawsuit is only against Adam, and not his label. So presumably it is being filed for something that ADAM has done personally.
    My guess is that the lawsuit claims that Adam’s overt rejection of Beg for Mercy AND tweets to fans that made clear his displeasure and desire that we not buy it are in fact an infringement of the plaintiff’s rights to do what they want with the material, that the copyright holder’s rights to market and sell are being interfered with.

    Just a guess, though, and we’ll know more tomorrow when the complaint becomes accessible to the public.

    Section 504 is the section of the copyright law that provides for damages. Statutory damages in a wilful case (i.e. Adam knew what he was doing and did it wilfully) can be as much as $150,000 without proving actual damages.
    Court can also charge costs and atty fees to Adam if plaintiff wins.

    So it’s probably worth it to the plaintiff to at least file the complaint and see what Adam will pay to make it go away. Nothing ventured nothing gained, and the gain might be as much as $150K plus fees.

    Plucking greedy vultures. And idiots. This CD was aimed at Adam fandom, they would make the same money issuing this under “CV featuring Adam Lambert” and everybody would be happy.

    Adam has such an exciting and busy weekend ahead of him right now. I am hoping that this legal issue doesn’t put too much of a damper on things for him. This whole thing may not have come as a surprise to him. Chances are he was probably advised earlier on that this was a possibility.

    dcglam, I doubt that Adam is paying it any attention at all; that is what lawyers are for. In the greater scheme of things, this is a very minor lawsuit (if it is as I described it) and it will probably go away quickly and relatively painlessly.
