    Song is interesting. Don’t love it but like it. I hear vibes of Prince, Eric Clapton (thanks nkd) and even the Bee Gees. I don’t hear Dragon Attack. Not sure it will get radio play and what channel even plays videos anymore. Not MTV. Maybe one of the VH1 channels. There’s enough of them.

    Just getting into the act…been at work all day…so 1st time listen the Duke played the video. Too much to get into what with new sounds, new lyrics. Much better right now with just the audio.     I just love his new single New Eyes! He took the fabulous vibe of the 70’s and gave it a contemporary 2019 twist in the way that only he can do. I’m so glad that he is going in this direction. This song is so sexy and slick, I’ve listened to it over and over. Does anyone know if this song is going to be released to radio? I really hope so, because right now it would be the best song out there! With good air play, this song would be a hit. I cannot wait until he performs this live!!

    I’ve been listening to New Eyes over and over again. I love the song and its sexy, bluesy vibe! I agree that you can appreciate Adam’s vocals and the instrumentals better without the video, so I’ve been listening to it mostly with my eyes shut. But I do like the video too. It’s dreamy and strange, and goes well with the vibe of the song. I can’t wait to see how he sings it live.

    Now Adam’s long hair really makes sense in the context of this new album and his emphasis on the 70’s. He looks absolutely gorgeous with his long hair and beard, dressed in those early 70’s clothes. I especially love the photo of him in the velvet suit. I had my share of velvet dresses and skirts back in the day. I even made a close male friend who was a musician a pair of royal blue velvet jeans for Christmas in 1969.

    And last but not least, RON! It’s so good to hear from you! I’m so glad you escaped from that bear claw. We’ve missed your voice and your humor here. Please stick around!

    No. In fact, some will say there are other songs that are more obvious ‘hits’. But I trusted my gut in wanting to first put out a romantic song that best summed up where i was at this moment in time. Wink in love.

    She does have a point in some ways. Although don’t really see that he’s not including people anymore (except the ones that hate him or criticize him).

    Maybe it’s the drug references I don’t care for, that he’s in love and that’s how he’s written his music. Thought you didn’t have to have a partner to be fulfilled. That’s what “they” keep telling us.

    I like this answer he gave regarding the video:

    The idea is that each of the characters in the video are discovering or rediscovering a passion. Enchanted items are placed in each scene that act as a catalyst.

    Velvet as a whole is def inspired by retro vibes but it’s not limited to one genre or tempo- there will be a strong variety as usual w all my albums. I think I just started listening to way more classic songs and fell back in love w the good old days.

    All in all it’s going to be a wait and see for me. It’s interesting to be in this “private club fandom”
