Adam enjoyed a quiet April but we still got to see a new photo shoot and magazine feature as well as attend a few parties. But May kicks off with a bang with Adam and Melissa Etheridge opening the GLAAD Media Awards in NY on May 5th performing her hit “I’m The Only One”. And there is “lots more to come” per Shoshanna Stone.

And we’re having an anniversary celebration as ALL turns 7. Thanks to eywflyer for creating this blog so that like-minded fans can hang out and get plenty of Adam-related stuff. He has decided to move on since his work here is done and has left the blog in the capable hands of riskylady. Let’s hope for at least 7 more years of glamberting!

    Just watched the duet from Glaad…I didn’t really like it…Adams mike seemed too low, and i didn’t like Melissa’s voice, (haven’t heard her before) They didn’t blend together that well…….oh well, can’t be a fan of every single thing!

    HK Fan– Your trip through the western US sounds fantastic. I’ve driven all over the West numerous times with my husband and kids and have been to all the places you mentioned. The scenery in the West is interesting, diverse and often very beautiful. I’m glad that you got to experience it. I’m also glad that you’re enjoying your catch up on ALL. The Build interview was excellent. I also have to agree with you on Adam’s Glaad duet. He sounded great by himself but his voice did not blend well with Melissa’s. I find her voice to be too harsh and raspy. It would have sounded better if they had taken turns singing instead (and Adam sang 90% of the time!).

    The Bohemian Rhapsody trailer looks so good! I’m really excited about seeing the movie. Too bad we have to wait until November to see it. But at least some of us will have a chance to get our QAL fix in Las Vegas before then.

    I cannot express how angry this kind of Poop makes me.
    1) I am a fan, and don’t have to accept this kind of arbitrary judgement. The “music industry” is composed of many things, not just US radio, which has become the land where labels pay program directors to play throwaway music – every 15 mins in some cases – by mediocre singers of their choice.
    2) Even Billboard no longer counts radio or actual sales as the definitive arbiter anymore.
    3) in his last live chat, Adam specifically said for fans NOT TO WORRY about numbers, radio play, etc – to just enjoy the music. In a recent interview, he said he’d like to pursue more acting. So is he DELIBERATELY LYING TO US, or have his priorities changed?
    4) I do believe Queen and all the other touring acts are still part of the music industry. Struggle
    5) Obviously, HE decides what to do out of things his management suggests or offers he receives. Even though they manage Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, doesn’t mean he will or wants to be that kind of artist. And actually, some of his “friends” such as Sarah Hudson, others, actually have radio hit cowrites now with the Bebe Rexha, Camila, etc crowd.
    6) Adam DOES get radio outside the tainted US market, and DOES have a worldwide fan base, has toured more countries than any Idol, and has fans where no one knows who Carrie, Kelly are.
    7) So we can whine about him not being Taylor Swift or Troy Sivan (with his incredibly unsubtle, unsexy “bottoms” song), or be fans of the singer/entertainer now widely proclaimed to be the best of his generation, but has no thump-thump current radio background noise.
    IMHO.

    I had 4 twenty-somethings (grandkids’ friends) over on Mother’s Day, all knew of Adam on Idol and with Queen, and deemed Kelly a flop, forgotten, and loved Ghost Town, Lay Me Down and Can’t Go Home. All streamers. Really surprised me.

    The cute young salesman turned out to be a huge music fan.

    He loved Adam when he was in 8th Grade during Season 8, all his friends loved him.

    And he saw QAL in Chicago .

    BOTH times.

    Didn’t talk Adam’s solo career, but will if I need to go back to the store.
