After we were showered with Adam goodies in April, let’s see what flowers in May. With recent tweets about new music and GLAAD honoring Adam with the Davidson/Valentini Award, May seems as if it will be a very merry month indeed. And we can’t forget the Life Ball in Vienna later in the month! Let’s hope for more great pics like we had from the CMAs (China not country music), Live Proud PSA and Miami Beach Pride.
Above are just a few of your favorite photos. You don’t need to be satisfied with just one main photo. Just click on the thumbnail to open your full-sized fave(s) and Drool away!

More info on the concert site. Looks like all general admission.

    https://www.universalorlando.com/Shows/Live-Shows.aspx

  2. Kradamour says:

Glad to see another performance for this summer (even though I want him in the studio making new music!).
It’s good for him and good for us.

  4. ultimathule says:

Replica of Hollywood Bowl – looks like a great stage. Apparently gets crowded early.

  5. Kradamour says:

    From the site:

How does concert seating work? How far in advance should I get there?
There is no concert seating. It is all general seating — or really, general standing. The Universal Music Plaza is an open field, so to speak, so you get to watch the concert from wherever it is that you’re standing when they start playing music. There is no VIP area to upgrade to, and no special viewing area for guests with Express Passes or guests staying at Universal’s on-site hotels.
So, how early do you need to get there? If you want to be somewhat close to the stage, you need to get to the Universal Music Plaza at least three to six hours before the concert starts — the more popular the band, the earlier you need to get there. Saying that the Universal Music Plaza gets very crowded is a bit of an understatement. If there is a band playing and you want to be close, plan on getting there early.
Front Row Alert: Want to see your favorite artist from the front row at the Universal Music Plaza? There are no special requirements for this other than a willingness on your behalf to line up at the morning for an evening concert. These Austin Mahone fans were lined up before 10:00am to see their favorite artist up close:

I just read the info. Free concert with admission to the park. General admission, standing only. No VIP areas. Recommend that if peeps are fans and want to be anywhere close to the stage to get there between 3 and 6 hours early. Outdoors in the late June Florida heat. I don’t think that I could take it. I would have collapsed hours before Adam came on. I am glad I am going to San Diego and have a nice 6th row reserved seat with plans to share the experience with my good friends.

I guess there was a kiss and tell about Sauli in a Finnish rag. Sauli says t is not true and the guy is a friend, well ex friend now. But he also says he has been single for several months now. I wonder when they really broke up. Not that it is any of my business Big Smile
Poor Sauli, he is wondering if he can trust anyone now.

    That really made me laugh.

  13. JOJOSIE says:

So sad that the Orlando show is general admission. There is no way this gal who hates hot weather and standing could do this one. The thing that made me happy at first it is very easy access for me. Non stop air flight. Oh well something else will show up. I’ll do like Krad and use positive thinking.

  14. Kradamour says:

I have always liked Sauli’s wry humor…but there is an undercurrent of real anger and hurt that comes out in his blog post.
He is a decent guy trying to make his way in the world. I am grateful to him for easing Adam into and out of a long term committed relationship, in the way that I am grateful to my sons’ friends and girlfriends for helping to shape them into the men they will ultimately become.

It is a miracle that Adam has not had to face this, and all of my whatsits are crossed that he never will.

  15. Ellessay says:

An ORLANDO show!!!! I will be there! Of course, they’ve scheduled it on my oldest son’s birthday. He’s turning 40 this year, so it’s a bit of a milestone. Too bad Mama’s going to be busy. I’ve already talked to my daughter in Orlando to make sure she was up for it. I’m used to the Florida heat and humidity, so I think I can do it. The only problem will be standing for that long. If I sit on the ground, it would take three people to get me back up again.

  16. glambotgram says:

“Why don’t you go and buy yourself a bicycle or something with the reward money.”

    That really made me laugh.

I know Ulti, me too, it is just so random.

  17. ultimathule says:

Krad – what is it that you’re grateful for that Adam did not have to experience? Not sure exactly what you meant – something about relationships, I guess? Thanks.

  18. luval says:

ulti, I’m not speaking for Kradamour but I’m thinking that Adam hasn’t had a friend (either older or current) who had lied that he had a relationship with Adam.

  19. Kradamour says:

    Yup, luval read my mind.
And even the real relationships/flings have not sold their stories. It got a little bit close on the GN tour when pink shirt guy posted pics, but they were harmless ones.

  20. luval says:

I apologize if this has been posted. I always try to read back a couple of pages. From Adamtopia. First the photo:

    http://ww1.sinaimg.cn/large/624c582bgw1e49rhty0d7j217n1mb1ky.jpg

    And the translation

    Translation from sk_PF:

OK, I’m not a good translator. But since it’s such a slow day, I’ll try to translate what’s printed next to this picture.

Adam in the eyes of a reporter
Interviewed Adam in his suite at his hotel, first thing he asked the hotel staff to do is open the window, because he feels stuffy.
A Chinese staff told the reporter Adam only gave the magazine photographer 30 seconds to shoot, because he’s not happy with his own look. (The staff) also said Adam refused earlier to shoot for a male magazine. Our photographer asked Adam to sit down and took some pictures. Adam asked ” Want to stand up?” We all thought he meant he wants to take some picture standing up. Actually what he meant is for the photographer. ” Can you take my pictures standing up, so I won’t look too fat.”
After taking the pictures, Adam went in the room, then came out again still in all black, but with a different vest. He purposely lowered his voice and said “hello” into the reporter’s recording, totally like a naughty big boy.
During our interview, we are very much distracted by his black eyeliner and nail polish.

    That’s wonderful Ellessay.

    I’m very happy for you!

In Ste.-Agathe I sat on the ground and it took two people to help me to stand back up!

If I can do it, you can do it. Wink

You’re going to have a wonderful time!

  22. Ron says:

    luval,

I had a FANTASTIC time tonight!

No need to comment. I’ll tell you all about it on Sunday.

  23. ultimathule says:

Yes, luval, thanks – and Krad, too – see now that’s what you meant.

  24. ultimathule says:

Wasn’t there another slightly different translation up earlier which was less flattering to him?

Wonder what “look” he didn’t like – and he felt fat? Still? Well, his appearance is very important to him – he likes to look “pretty.”

  25. aely says:

That is the first article I have ever read that paints him in a slightly negative way. I have to question though, the pictures in the article are of him sitting not standing. Sounds like they may have had more of an issue with his look.

  26. nkd says:

You have to remember that his words have been translated from English to Chinese back to English, so something may have been lost there.
He had to have been really tired though, and probably felt like he didn’t look his best.
I read that he wanted the photographer to stand to take the picture of him seated. A more flattering angle perhaps.
But that’s a knockout photo! mmm!

  27. ultimathule says:

Do like that “totally like a naughty big boy.” Can visualize his doing a real deep-voiced “hello” just to be funny.

Congrats on Florida fans getting another show.

  32. ultimathule says:

Yeah, Idol screwed up royally trying to create publicity for the show. Serves ’em right for stringing Adam along. Can’t say I give a flyin’ patootie if it get canned (but it won’t – it’s still pulling in a decent audience and there’s nothing to replace it – also Ryan’s there for another season.)

  38. luval says:

I just re-read the translated article I posted last night and I don’t see it showing him in a negative way at all. As to him refusing to pose for a male magazine, maybe it was never planned for him to do that anyway and they might have just been trying to “throw that in”.

I do feel bad for him that he still feels he looks fat. That may stay with him for the rest of his life. And I can hear that voice saying hello.

Adam’s performance in Orlando on June 29 is the day before we leave for San Diego.BUT, have been checking things out and the Duke and I are leaning towards changing our flight to leave from Orlando(Southwest doesn’t charge change fees!).That way we can go to Universal for a couple of days and see Adam the night before we leave. We won’t be in the front row(s) nor anywhere we have to stand for 3+ hours. But it’s another chance to see Adam and in Florida no less.

Thanks! This diabetic Floridian knows about water. I always carry. I would love to get a close spot, but I don’t know if those going with me would want to stay in one place for hours. I’m not much for walking around, so I don’t care. Can you believe in 25 years of living near Orlando, I have never been to any of the theme parks?

  49. Ellessay says:

I was listening to “Stay” on the radio and it occurred to me that when we heard Adam’s magnificent version, that perhaps it was so heartfelt because he and Sauli were contemplating the breakup at that time.

I’ve always thought it would be inevitable, not because they didn’t love each other enough to sustain it, but because it is very hard to be part of a relationship with their career choices right now.

Plus it is very difficult with each partner being from another country. The U.S. doesn’t make it easy for heterosexual couples to be together (my father married a woman from another country), and I can’t imagine the difficulty for a homosexual couple who want to be together.

Once the first blush of love settled down and they looked at the reality of the situation, they had to decide if it would be worth all of the problems to try to make it work long term. Or maybe it would be better to cut loose and follow their career paths to another time when they would be ready to make that kind of commitment.

Someone mentioned a while back about Adam clubbing with teenagers. I remember thinking at the time that teens can’t club–they have to be over 21 to drink. I don’t particularly enjoy seeing pictures of him out trying to have a good time. That’s too much of an invasion of his privacy. Yes, he’s out in public, but there’s way too much of “gotcha” journalism out there, and he has enough problems getting good press in the US. I love the happy and positive Adam. Not sure I want to see “Party” Adam with his choice of companion for the evening. I’m just in it for the music.

firstimerob, GLAAD has that info on their site but it’s not easy to find. It was under their “Press Release” tab. It seems that they have yet to award the Music Artist Award from reading press releases from the two previous awards shows.
