After we were showered with Adam goodies in April, let’s see what flowers in May. With recent tweets about new music and GLAAD honoring Adam with the Davidson/Valentini Award, May seems as if it will be a very merry month indeed. And we can’t forget the Life Ball in Vienna later in the month! Let’s hope for more great pics like we had from the CMAs (China not country music), Live Proud PSA and Miami Beach Pride.

I think this is the same kind of thinking and the direction that AI is going in which would bode well for Adam. j/s

Kelly Rowland is a bargain for “The X Factor” compared to Season 2 judge Britney Spears.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rowland will make about $1 million for Season 3 of the Fox singing competition series, compared to Spears, who reportedly made $15 million last year.

A propos of nothing in particular, except that there is a tenuous link between Adam and Gaga via Fever, here is a very interesting video of Gaga when she was still Stefany Germanotta, filmed at NYU.

I’d better draw up one of these for myself!

    Sadly interesting …

Anyone who goes through Justin Bieber’s front door must sign a waiver releasing him of all responsibility for their personal well being … including death?!?

What kind of person feels the need to put something like this in place? Confused

I would bet that the only thing Adam has ever requested is … “R.S.V.P. BYOB” Smile

Justin Bieber – Talk About My Parties, I’ll Sue You for $5 Mil

The document makes it clear … anyone who violates the terms of the waiver will automatically be on the hook for $5 million in damages.

But wait … there’s more. If you dare tweet about the party — $5 mil. If you blog — $5 mil. If you Instagram — $5 mil.

And God knows what goes on inside, but the form warns there might be activities which are “potentially hazardous and you should not participate unless you are medically able and properly trained.”

And there’s more … The risks include “minor injuries to catastrophic injuries, including death.”

New report out this morning that Idol is considering putting alums in the judges seats – possibly all of the seats. Adam mentioned as a possibility. Originally reported by Vulture, now being picked up and discussed elsewhere (including MJs):

    http://www.vulture.com/2013/05/former-contestants-may-judge-next-years-idol.html?mid=twitter_vulture

two people with knowledge of the situation tell Vulture that serious consideration is being given to the idea of filling one, and very possibly all, of the slots on the show’s judging panel with former Idol contestants. These sources say Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have already been approached about the idea, and that the names of Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also under discussion.

Michael Slezak’s take on the idea: http://tvline.com/2013/05/22/american-idol-former-contestants-as-judges-adam-lambert-kelly-clarkson/

Adam apparently celebrated his mom’s birthday with family last night. He posted this on instagram this morning:

Haha both Adam and Neil are apparently in a “make goofy faces for the camera” phase. Also, I think it’s striking how much Neil looks like Adam in this pic.

And so sorry for your health problems Miss Chaos Frown I just hope you get the right diagnosis and help fast, how nice that we have a specialist mils here!

Idol panel with only alums… If that happens and they skip Adam, they are very stupid! Well, they are stupid any way if they skip Adam…

My Adam moments today: At the cloths store I saw a cloth mark named Trespass and then on the bus on my way home they played Trespassing Smile

Has this 720p version of China 80 talk show Pop that lock + interview been posted? There was a lower quality version earlier. Has anyone seen a good version of PTL without interview? Thanks Smile

  14. Ellessay says:

Went to see Paul McCartney in Orlando Sunday night. It’s my second concert (after my first one-Adam’s GN in Melbourne FL). My son-in-law got great seats for us (almost $300 per seat).

    Several observations:
    1. WGWG–Paul mainly stayed at the mic playing guitar most of the time or playing piano on a few songs. No dancers, or back-up singers. The band members sang the harmonies and they were awesome.

    2. Visually–There was a lot of laser activity, which was matched well with the music. There was a screen at the back of center stage that showed random pictures much like Adam’s concert. There were two jumbotron screens to each side of the center screen so we could see closeups of the performances.

    3. Pyro–at a Paul McCartney concert? Yes. Live and Let Die. I think we all jumped out of our seats at the first boom and flash of the flames. Afterwards, he didn’t seem too happy about the noise that accompanied the flames. But it was a very memorable performance. Loved it!

    4. Paul is 70 years old, and when he first came out, I was disappointed in how much older he looked from the twenty-something young man that I had a crush on so many years ago. But by the end of the TWO HOURS & 45 MINUTE concert, the energy of the crowd took at least ten to fifteen years off his appearance. He had amazing energy and sounded just as good at the end of the concert as he did in the beginning–maybe even better. He had three encores.

    5. It’s funny that the crowd didn’t sing along to the songs that were so familiar–we just wanted to hear Paul sing. There were a couple we couldn’t help but sing along to, specifically Hey Jude. The audience was mixed, many of us were older fans, but there were younger ones like my daughter who grew up with their parents listening to Beatles music and being exposed to his later work with Wings.

    6. Crowd behavior–I know (from reading) that it’s expected that people are going to stand and dance to the music. But I think at a seated venue that this is rude behavior. Not that I’m against standing altogether, some songs just call for it. But, at my advanced age of 29+, I am unable to spend a lot of time on my feet. My son-in-law who sprang for the tickets is only 5 feet tall, and was unable to see much of it even with the jumbotron because he was blocked by those standing in front of him. In front of me was a couple of women who had made two foot tall letters spelling out “PAUL” rigged with twinkle lights. They spent much of the concert standing and holding up these letters, blocking my view of the stage, whether standing or sitting. Grrr. And when I tried to watch the jumobtron screens, I couldn’t see them for the woman who was standing to dance with her hands in the air. And I thought we had good seats!

The reason for my last observation is that the same thing happened at Adam’s concert. There were a couple of kids–approximately 10-12 years old in front of me. They couldn’t see over the adults standing and dancing in front of them, so they stood on their seats to see, effectively blocking my view of Adam and the stage.

    Sorry for the long post.

  15. Calgary says:

Hmmm, luval wonder why he goes there. Reviews are pretty poor. Did he use a Groupon? I would think anyone offering those coupon services must not be all that good. My massage therapist is full up and the associated chiro is always busy. No coupons.

  16. Ellessay says:

Adam on Idol: I would love it. Anything that puts him on the television is a good thing.

After the McCartney concert I gave a lot of thought to how artists used to get noticed. We had a lot of shows dedicated to music back then: American Bandstand, Hullabaloo, Shindig, aimed specifically at the younger generation. There were also a lot of variety shows that showcased musical talent-Ed Sullivan, Dean Martin, Sonny & Cher, Donnie & Marie, etc.

I was 10 years old when I first heard the Beatles, and their early songs fit the angst of the pre-teen and teenagers. My kids grew up listening to my record collection, singing along and learning the different artists. Now I cringe to think of my 6 year old granddaughter singing along to the lyrics of some of what’s currently played on the radio. My daughter didn’t buy Trespassing because there were some lyrics she was uncomfortable with her daughter singing along to.

I hope Adam’s next album is more “kid-friendly.” Not that there can’t be angst and yearning, happy celebrations, adult themes, etc. Just more classic so that it can be enjoyed by generations, not just targeting the club crowd. Even my generation sang about things not so “nice,” but they were cloaked in language that the younger kids (or our parents) might not understand. And that’s just a generalization-one can always find exceptions.

  17. Ellessay says:

I apologize for being so wordy today. I’m home from work sick today, and still in the afterglow of the concert.

It’s made me think about whether or not I really want to go to Universal Orlando to see Adam on June 29th. I don’t know that I can stand for that long, and I don’t like crowds. Right now, I’m still planning on going, but it’s going to be a battle with the family. Not sure I’m up for that either.

  18. aely says:

Could Idol really be giving the job to Clay instead of Adam????

As I have said before they better not screw him again…..grrrrr

I know he wants it, I personally don’t care, it was kind of nice not being tied to the tv watching Idol this year. But, after he announced to EVERYONE in that press conference that he would for sure sign on ….just ughhhh Yes, yes, here is the angst. But now I am done. Big Smile

  19. glambotgram says:

Great posts Ellessay Love your impressions of the McCartney concert. I feel the same way about people standing thru the whole concert. Might as well be general admission, why have seats at all.
Ulti A big congrats to your daughter. I remember when you posted about her running, so glad her hard work paid off.

  20. ultimathule says:

I agree, aely – dread that angst – is he or isn’t he – just awful, awful, awful.

  21. ultimathule says:

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words about my daughter. Appreciate them very much.

(For anyone going to Pittsburgh, she’ll be there with me.)

  22. luval says:

    Here we go again.

    http://hiphollywood.com/2013/05/will-jennifer-hudson-be-the-next-american-idol-judge/

Wasn’t Jennifer Hudson the one who thought American Idol should end?

eta: she sure did…here’s the article
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/22/jennifer-hudson-american-idol-end_n_2525471.html

  23. milwlovesadam says:

Yup. Here we go again. There’s a thread over there, a thread at Home Planet, and several news stories already. Most say that JHud is a diva, and that Idol doesn’t need another diva as a judge. Most also say that Kelly wasn’t a good judge on that show she did last year ( I never saw it, have no opinion ), and, most importantly, universally, Clay is being dissed big time.

The jury is out on Adam. Most people seem to favor him, but there are enough dissenters to make a claim against him. Same “too polarizing” meme. UGH.

I would flove to see Melinda Doolittle. Her Idology feedback and snark is just spot-on. Slezak would miss her way too much though.

I also would love to see Kellie Pickler. For so many reasons.

  24. milwlovesadam says:

    ulti: congrats to your daughter!!!

  25. luval says:

Although I love idology & Melinda Doolittle, I don’t find her feedback there interesting. Doesn’t really have anything to say and just agrees with Slezak. IMO of course.

And just NO to another diva…JHud and NO to Clay Aiken (and I love him too). I don’t get why he’s even on the short list. Came out of nowhere. Yes to Kellie Pickler, though!

eta: I remember Kelly Clarkson on the show “Duets” which was cancelled. Horrible show. ok as a mentor but not as a judge.

  26. jlurksacto says:

    Allison Iraheta ‏@AllisonIraheta

Thank you friends for all the well wishes and kind words. And to all the married people out there, congratulations to YOU. I trust we ALL can someday. Love is worth protecting.

  27. aely says:

I like Idology also, even watched a couple this year without watching the show. I like Melinda but she has time to watch the show and prepare her comments, I just don’t know if she has that ability to be off the cuff to make a snap decision and deliver it articulately. That is one of Adam’s major strengths. So few people have that talent.

I agree NO to JHud and Clay. I loved Clay on his season and have a CD of his somewhere but along the way he lost me. Now he just seems annoying, like he lost all of his innocence and became self important. He has a lot thrown at him so I always cut him some slack. Kelly really wasn’t very impressive on that show. I really tried to watch but I was just bored.

  28. ultimathule says:

There’s going to be so much crappy gossip over the new judging panel, think I’ll just avoid the whole thing – don’t want to go through that again. Can say this – if they don’t choose him, that IS the end of Idol for me – my interest has been going downhill anyway these last seasons – won’t pose any difficulty here to ditch it entirely.

  29. HK fan says:

Have been reading a lot of the comments about possible Idol judges…..
I think Adam would make a great judge, for all the reasons everyone has said, articulate, witty, honest, kind, huge musical knowledge, beautiful to look at etc etc….He would make an even better mentor, helping the contestants every week to be the best they can be. The last 3 years have certainly needed someone like that. Do I want him as a judge…mmm, tricky, I want him on my tv each week, and I want non fans to get to know Adam the person, as opposed to Adam the singer, but do I want to read all the hateful comments that are bound to happen each week.although there haven’t been too many with Keith. But I know he would love to do it, so yes.
Kelly Clarkson, love her voice, don’t know much about her personality, but she’s the original Idol and has longevity in the music business, so OK.
JHud, nope. Don’t like her or her voice. She just comes across as having such an attitude.
Clay, nope….again don’t know all that much about him, just don’t like his look, he seems creepy and a bit sleezy to me…
Don’t hink Melinda has enough of a profile or career to make it work.
Daughtry, nope, another one who is so up himself.
Was sick all day in bed yesterday, feeling much better today. Luckily all schools were cancelled yesterday, so I didn’t have to go into work anyway. We had a huge storm tuesday night for a couple of hours, apparently 6704 lightning stikes in our area, compared to 1500 in other parts of HK, and then we had the black rain warning up, landslide warnin as well. Know several people whose houses got flooded…even the cross harbour tunnel was flooded.

Wasnt there a movie made over there call Black Rain with Micheal Douglas? Just made me think of that. Hope you all are ok. this weather around the world is really something. Cloudy Rain Thunder Umbrella

  33. Ceddies says:

My worst nightmare would be that Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert be chosen to judge the same season. My disgust for her MAY just override my passion for Adam. Well…you know what I mean…there would be a struggle inside me. I don’t want to see her on my television every week. I couldn’t make myself watch her duet with Candace on the Finale. I like Nicki Minaj ten times better that JHud.

eta: meant to say my disgust for her, not my disdain

  34. Ceddies says:

Ulti, I want to add my congratulations to you and your family for your daughter’s election. I don’t have it in me to be in the public eye, but I do have admiration for those who do the work to make this a better place for all. Hope she will enjoy her position.

  35. ultimathule says:

Thanks, Ceddies – I’m with you about being in the public eye – but she enjoys dealing with people (like her Dad – who ran here in Maryland for office many years ago.)

  36. Calgary says:

I think there is waaaay too much shizzle dizzle with Idol and judges to make it a worthy vehicle for Adam. Could he resurrect it single-handedly? I don’t think so because of the haters. BUT I do agree with HKfan that he’d make a great mentor for the entire run – he could even sing a little bit to show the contestants things. The producers could give him a solid few minutes and take away some of the ridiculous amount of time the judges have had to blather. So we’d have all the good of Adam and not have to worry about snark over judges.

  37. ultimathule says:

    http://youtu.be/0P7N_vlvU8w

Pretty sure Quadron is the group Adam went to see the other night (song is “Hey Love” – really, really good). And check it out at about 2:40 (maybe a gift?).

  38. ultimathule says:

Who are these haters, Calgary – are there many outside the hard-core Idol bubbleites? Are a few just very vocal? Seems to me, as, I think, mils? said – it’s better of late. (Think some of them are S8 holdovers.)

  39. Calgary says:

ulti I don’t know, but it’s another variable and could be nasty.

  40. Calgary says:

Thanks ulti for the Quadron link; loved the Elmo jacket! Also the song but not the singer.

  41. HK fan says:

Yes, we don’t get many black rain warnings ultimathule, and the landslides are nothing like they were many years ago. The Government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars doing slope works. They basically put drainage pipes in all the slopes by the roads, then cover the whole slope often with concrete, and plants/trees. And all of the shanty towns are gone now with their flimsy houses, so its unusual to hear of any deaths due to the storms nowadays. When I first arrived in HK there was a famous case of a Gweilo boy being swept down a drainage channel and killed, and a Gweilo man that was drowned trying to save a couple of teenagers who got swept into the sea in a typhoon.
Anyways, the kids were happy, they got an extra day off school..

Any news on whether Adam has arrived in Vienna….beautiful city, was there a couple of years ago.
