Well for someone to sing with a contestant, Adam singing with Candice would be kinda perfect, shes not my favorite (well no one is) but she has a great voice, and I think it would work with Adam, no to anyone else.
But yes to singing Shady with Nile, all kinds of awesome. Hey maybe they can ask Kiss back, and we can hear and see him sing BETH again!!!!!!!!!!!

He already did WWFM on Idol, yes? so I would think it would have to be something new. Mad World is ancient, BUT he did sing it recently kinda out of the blue. It would be a crowd pleaser for sure and remind everyone how incredible he is and maybe bring back the warm pre-AMA feelings in middle america.
I’d love to see/hear him do something bright and poppy, though.
AND the article said that CHER was also under consideration????

Idol has been so dull this season the finale needs to blow people out of their seats & minds. Has to be tons of surprises, lots and lots of energy, way off the charts performances. I could see Cuckoo with Adam & dancers (if he can keep Johnny in check and do the choreo). Bet people wouldn’t be expecting a performance like that and would be shocked to see Adam dancing!!
The talk is that if Cher does a duet it’s going to be with Lazaro. They follow each other on twitter and Cher is a big fan. Lazaro in interviews has implied they will sing together.
I would think if it is the finale he would sing one of his songs with a contestant, isn’t that how it always is?
So WWFM, FYE, IIHY, TFM, or Trespassing, BTIKM, or NCOE, those are all of his singles, right? Seems like the contestant usually starts alone and the song is familiar enough that you know who will be singing with them before they come out.
But I vote for Shady.
Maybe he is being asked to promote the ATT and Trevor Project? Ohh this gives us something to speculate about
I hope they change it up as far as duets with contestants. But if so I’m really not sure which voice would be good with any of Adam’s songs as a duet!!

Given that only WWFM was a huge hit.
FYE seems dated now, so does IIHY. BTIKM wouldn’t be a good duet, IMHO. And WWFM has been done on the show.
TFM wasn’t really “his”, and did he do Trespassing on the show? I kinda think he did (getting old, mind is going).
That leaves NCOE, not a good choice IMHO, another sleepy song.
So maybe there is something NEW coming!
And maybe (gotta dream, guys) Cher will sing TWO songs, one of them with Adam!
Or (more likely) they will chat and decide that they want to do a collab or a duet in another context.

I think Adam said he probably wouldn’t be on Idol this season because he didn’t have anything to promote. They probably hadn’t asked at that point. But I don’t see Adam ever turning down Idol, especially the finale.
Hi, nkd! Forgot about Pop That Lock! Would prefer that over Cuckoo and Shady. But again like glambotgram said it may be duets with the contestants and none of his songs except WWFM or MW would work I think. But you never know…..if he’s going to be on. LOL!
And yes, Adam rarely turns down anything. Remember him showing up at red carpets alone just because he was asked?

After watching this trainwreck of S12, can’t say I’m nuts about his trying to resurrect the Finale. Who watches Idol now? – older people and the South? – not the audience he needs or would be interested in his music anyway. Have the guest performers gotten bumps out of their appearances this Season? Can’t remember. Idol’s not his style anymore – he’s too sophisticated on stage for a show that’s lost its mojo.
Just my first reaction – I’ll give it more thought and maybe change my mind – but I don’t get good vibes from it.
I think that any TV exposure for Adam is a good thing. The show’s ratings are the lowest ever but it’s still watched by millions and millions of people.
He and Jennifer Hudson can sing “The Prayer”.
There are still a couple of 30 something average people I work with who watch Idol so I do have “water cooler” discussions the next day. But I am the only one who thinks it’s sooooo boring this season! They like the girls. Between Idol and Dancing with the Stars (whose ratings have also slipped), people are still watching.
All the comments on mj’s are positive about Adam possibly being in the finale. Even a couple say they are glad to see Adam in any way on tv. I agree with this.
I think if Adam is offered he will take it.
Idol was opposite The Voice last night and Idol won the ratings night. But The Voice was just a compilation of previous shows. I still prefer Idol over The Voice.
eta: So The Hollywood Reporter and Unrealtytv.com.uk picked up the Adam/Idol/finale story. Will be interesting to see if anyone else does.
Will be interested to see if David Cook gets a bump from his performance tonight.

Thank G-d for the DVR. I only watched David Cook ( Loved. Him. Tonight.) and the elimination. That’s it. 12 minutes of Idol. And then I watched the best TV of the night. Big Bang Theory. Bob Newhart guest starred. It was just terrific, and topped off with a rendition of Soft Kitty.

Finally went on twitter to “inform” him. What a schmuck – commenting on Adam and obviously knowing practically nothing about him.
I have read so many comments about singers not appearing on TV because they have nothing to promote. What has this world come to? Do we understand that TV has just become a shill for the music industry? Shows used to have singers on because they could sing! Or because they were hot. Guess I’m older than 29.
