I thought Adams comments in the interview about Nicki Minaj were very diplomatic….I get the impression he didn’t think it was a good idea to have her as a judge…

I do realize that Botox isn’t surgery, it’s an injection…but…the whole thing is a slippery slope.
There was a pic posted yesterday that showed his acne scars on the right side of his face, I do think they show in certain lights and in certain types of photos.
Funny, in real life you don’t see them at all. For those of us that have met him up close, HA! That’s the absolute last thing you would see. I still have the mental image of his smirk and puckered lips when we met the first time in my head. And those eyes. OMG. Those eyes……

Agree re the slippery slope, mils, and botox. My friends who have gone the botox route have become less satisfied with their looks, rather than more, and all are thinking now that maybe more invasive procedures wouldn’t be such a bad thing.

Yup krads, it can be alluring to many people, but, I have nothing against a tummy tuck, or lipo, however, once you get into facial plastic surgery, the results often don’t make sense. He’s still young. His folks still look great, signs that he’ll age well, no need for anything major. Especially not in the face for him.
I have to admit every now and then I say, okay, maybe it’s time to ease up with my Adam obsession. And I try to listen to other music, get some variety. And then these performances come along and he pulls me right back in. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE.

Can I be just a little hyper-critical and say that I didn’t like his choice of boots? I would have preferred a sleeker boot or a shoe. Those boots were just too casual with that gorgeous jacket. IMHO

Just to add to cwm‘s excellent research, yesterday morning I caught one of the early YouTube’s just before it was taken down, and it had 68 thousand+ views. There were two, I think the other had about 20k. The official Idol one at that time had only a little over 7k, so quite a few views were lost by the takedown.

Also, this one, which is still up, has 62,527 views – it has the entire segment.
I like it, because unlike the official Idol Titanium only, it shows the audience standing ovation and applause. Also, I noted that at the end of JJ’s segment, the applause gets a little louder when Seacrest says Adam’s name as they come out on stage.
OK, now, here’s the conspiracy theory part of my post:
I was reading the more than 1,000 comments over on the “other” and many made a point of saying that the JJ “duet” (really? Just because JJ pointed the mike at Angie and let her sing a few words here and there?) was the highlight of Angie’s segment. I would not be surprised if certain JJ fans and “others” deliberately drove up the viewcount just to keep Adam below hers.
The blogger BARELY mentioned the duet, and out of about 30 performance fotos, there were 3 of Angie with JJ and NONE with Adam. Trying to make like it wasn’t a “moment,” like it didn’t happen.
But, in all the write-ups and press about the show, I didn’t see one that singled out JJ for praise, and some didn’t even mention her. Even the high-and-mighty NYT singled out Adam and Angie, as did almost everyone else. Hmmmmmmmm.

haha turquoisewaters, well yeah it started off casual, taking quick glances at the numbers throughout the day yesterday. And then it got a little more intent and serious last night when I got out the calculator! LOL
If y’all can stand an update, here you go. (I promise not to do this too often, but for some reason, I’m finding these numbers interesting to track. That, plus I’m putting off more important work I should be attending to. LOL)
Current standings are pretty much the same overall, although Candice/JHud took #2 and Mariah moved to #3. Below are current views, and increases over the past 5 hours:
– Angie/JJ: 322,932 (+79,027, a 24.47% increase)
– Candice/JHud: 237,272 (+51,218, a 21.59% increase)
– Mariah: 234,217 (+47,774, a 20.40% increase)
– Angie/Adam: 168,559 (+39,598, a 23.49% increase)
– JLo/Pitbull: 152,394 (+38,367, a 25.18% increase)
– PSY: 110,625 (+33,014, a 29.84% increase)
– Amber/Emilie Sande: 48,673 (+9,533, a 19.59% increase)
– Janelle/The Band Perry: 27,414 (didn’t record last night’s count)
– Kree/Keith: 26,926 (+14,315, a 53.16% increase)
The biggest raw number increase in views was for Angie/JJ, followed by Candice/JHud, then Mariah, then Angie/Adam.
Kree/Keith showed the biggest percentage increase, but they’re so far behind, they’re not really a player in this “race.” Otherwise, the biggest gainers percentage-wise were PSY, followed by JLo/Pitbull, then Angie/JJ, then Angie/Adam.
So there you go. OK, I’ll stop now.
I’m with you mils. I’d rather look old than like some creepy plastic face experiment. Plus it can create such a disconnect between the face and the way someone acts and moves, it becomes very odd and obvious. Age is more than wrinkles. And can’t see for the life of me what’s wrong with looking 50 if you are 50. It seems a bit foolish to chase eternal youth. A losing preposition. On the other hand I can understand how someone wants a particular “problem area” fixed, and I don’t see anything wrong with that either. Live and let live.
LOL. If I had time and money, I’d be first in line for some major lipo and a few other procedures!! Just leery of the face.
As far as Adam is concerned, it’s his body, his face. Maybe he had some Botox, maybe not. Like I said, it is a slippery slope. Once you start, it’s hard to stop.
In other news, Adam’s CI Mad World is beautiful, heartfelt, and perfectly sung. Of course.

Is it at all possible that weight loss plus dermabrasion could have almost eliminated the forehead lines? I know weight loss does affect the face a lot. Cher has a friend who has lost some weight lately, not a whole lot but BOY, hubby and I both noticed the difference in her face at cher‘s party, we almost didn’t recognize her.
cwm, I think the number of official A&A duet vid doesn’t change, it hasn’t for a while no matter how many times I watch… Gosh I have replayed that duet so many times just because it’s so beautiful.
I have a very deep wrinkle between my eye brows, it’s been there since teens. I would love to fill it or whatever they use… But I am afraid something goes wrong – I’ve seen too many horror documents about swallowed and wandering fillings

riskylady – sorry I can’t add in the viewcounts on Angie/Adam vids that were taken down unless I can also add in the viewcounts on others’ performance vids that were also taken down. Wouldn’t be fair – we have to compare apples to apples. And without complete information on the other performers’ vids that were taken down, I can’t selectively pick and choose which performances get “extra credit.”
Lady North – the numbers update only periodically. Maybe every couple of hours or so. So they’ll be stuck on the same number for a while and then suddenly take a huge leap forward. They all update at the same time on the official AI playlist I’m using to grab the numbers from.
asifclueless – if you use one of the looped playlists, each view will count as a separate view because the screen refreshes each time between views and actually moves to a “new” video. If you’re just watching the regular single video, it would also work to refresh your screen at the end of the song to restart it. What doesn’t count as a separate view is if you just pull the “ball” back to the start of the song without refreshing your screen.

Also, I just wanna say that I actually like Jessie J, so I’ve got no ax to grind with her. She’s got a powerful voice and can really sing. I really love her “Price Tag” song, and Domino is alright too. I thought her performance with Angie was fun, upbeat, and full of good, positive energy. And JJ did a nice job interacting with Angie. It wasn’t the exquisite eargasm with perfect vocals, delicate harmonies, and artistry that characterized Adam’s duet with Angie (and I thought she looked a bit horrid with the weird shorts-suit, shaved head, and huge hoop earrings), but it was fun, got people dancing, and obviously made Angie really happy. It’s all good.

Thanks for posting the numbers for the Slinky videos, riskylady. Interesting. And it’s great to see the difference in the likes – the Angie/Adam/JJ video has WAY more likes than any of the others, especially when you account for number of views. Of course, that’s a combined video, so credit goes to both Titanium and Domino.
I think it’s fair to say that, hands down, the most-loved performances of the night, based on video viewcounts and likes, were Angie with both Adam and Jessie J, and Candice with JHud.
Among the big name performers, the least liked were PSY and JLo. And Keith’s performances (solo and with Kree) aren’t generating many views or much interest. Mariah’s performance appears to be the most controversial (that is, generating views but also relatively fewer likes and more dislikes), given the lip synching question/issue.
FYI, the DailyMotion/Slinky videos DO update every time you refresh the screen. The Candace/JHud and Adam/Angie/JJ vids are the only ones really gaining views at a fast pace now.

Well, now I’m seeing stuff on twitter that we should not be using the looped playlists for Titanium, because they are considered “spam” and aren’t counted. Hmmmm. Might be true. I know that some Gaga and Beiber videos (among others) recently had a bunch of views removed because they were considered bogus views. Maybe these looped playlists are seen as contributing to bogus views. I don’t know.

I loved the boots Adam had on at the AI Final, just a little edge, I dont think shoes would have looked so good, he looked dressed up, but not to much.
About the wrinkles on his forehead, when I am watching TV, especially Soaps all the actors mostly the men, young and old have wrinkles on their foreheads and I often wonder why, they all seem to lift their eyebrows up when they talk, maybe for expression, because later the wrinkles go away, it is something that always bug me, as in dont they look in the mirror when they talk, lol.
I had a horrible pain all over in my head all week, felt like a sinus infection, went to the Dr, got some meds, but damn, my one side of my lip is numb, like when you get a shot at the dentist. WTF!

I’m all for WELL-DONE plastic surgery. Like a saggy jawline, frown lines between eyes (think Mrs. Obama had that done), the type that just makes one look refreshed.
My daughter’s mother-in-law will be 100 in July (married late – and just had the one son). Anyhow, about ten years ago she had that “string lift” after losing lots of weight because of diabetes and a new diet. Looked great – all that under-chin sag removed. She was really happy about it – and isn’t that what it’s all really about.
