I’m glad that my original post didn’t upset everyone. It wasn’t meant to be a lecture, but I guess I’m a little more blunt(read honest) than some are comfortable with. I don’t post often because I don’t feel I can add to a lot of the conversation. Of course we are all different, but I’m not a worrier. What will be, will be and I don’t angst over things I cannot change, such as Adam’s song choices, hair style, tattoos etc. I don’t say it to be critical…those just don’t bother me personally.
I love your site for the info I get from it and it is laid out brilliantly. It’s so easy to find everything really quickly. Thanks for all the work put in.

Hi Ron, Really no need to apologise. No offense taken. Obviously what I said hit a raw nerve, but it wasn’t meant that way at all. I just wished everyone would stop feeling blue and enjoy the totally amazing performance we witnessed. Thank goodness we are living in this age of technology. I guess if we weren’t, we wouldn’t know what we were missing anyway.How sad that would be!

Hi, kiwi! I don’t want to beat a dead horse here, but I am one who was troubled by your post last night and so very glad that you can recognize the distress caused to some by your choice of words.
Last night meant a lot to and for Adam, and some of us have very strong Mama or Papa Bear reactions where Adam is concerned. For us, it isn’t just the career, it is his personal happiness that we want. The career had all kinds of ‘win’ last night, but that didn’t lesson the fact that we felt we needed to leap to his aid and defense when he may have felt shut out by the girls’ lovefest.
So, we expressed our distress and angst for that, notwithstanding that the performance was…well, otherworldly and bound to be recognized by all – which it has been.
And your post, meant to be cheery and positive, just seemed to dismiss these other concerns and feelings as silly.
I have had the pleasure of a personal interaction with you, but for most of us you are not as ‘filled in’, and your post stood in the harsh light of the computer screen without a personal context.
So I hope that you will post more so that we ‘regulars’ and regular lurkers will have the chance to get to know you better!
Hi Kradamour, I guess the difference is that I just don’t feel a personal, family type of connection to Adam as you obviously do. I am totally passionate about his music and follow (and collect)everything he does. I don’t judge anyone else for their approach, I just hated seeing anyone feeling down after such an amazing performance! Nuff said…horse is now officially dead.

Hi everyone, I’ve been away since posting last night right after the show and am just now catching up.
Oh my.
So. ( Takes a deep breath and attacks keyboard )
-So glad at the outpouring of love for Adam and Angie all over the webz and news.
-Have watched the performance a gazillion times, and just flove it.
-I apologize for my initial angst at what I perceived to be a fluffing over of him.
It’s funny. While on my long drive to and from work today, I thought about this more than I care to admit. I came to several conclusions that were posted here by others already. He wasn’t announced because it was an honor. It was a moment of greatness. It was assumed that the Idol audience at home would know who he was. The vocals were spot-on excellent. He had a package last week. The cameras were right on him. Angie loved him. Jessie looked awful and didn’t duet as well and hogged the screen.
-He had great screen time with Cantiello. That was all kinds of adorable. He had red carpet time. He was the first Idol on camera in the audience at the start of the show. He is in a select small group of former Idols who have performed on the finale.
-I’m so sorry to see hurt feelings here. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, and I’m sorry if I fanned any flames with my enthusiasm before the show and my reaction afterward.
-That being said. I have absolutely no intention of changing the way I post. I write with humor, and snark, and tend to exaggerate at times. I LOVE to dissect hair, fashion, makeup, trends, songs, friends, and bulges. I LOVE to speculate, instigate, spur on discussion.
– Do I/we go overboard at times? Yup. You betcha. It’s what keeps me coming back. Love it.
-Besides. Somebody needs to keep the corner in shape.

After watching the duet and the red carpet interview a few more times, has anyone else noted how smooth his skin appeared, even in the harsh sun of the red carpet interview? And it looked like no foundation or almost none or one that looks very natural. I a sure he had mascara and a little liner on smudged up, but it was also minimal (wonder if he can get his eyelashes died when he does his eyebrows?)
I do think our boy has had some botox though. He used to have some fairly deep lines in his forehead and he doesn’t have them anymore. In the interview there were times where he sort of raised his eyebrows expressively with what he was saying and there were no forehead creases. He also used to have a crease at the base of his neck and that was invisible in the interview too.
What does everyone else think?
My gang here all wants to go together, mils, but five of my gals will be out of town till next week. May have to go alone. Actually, funny as it may seem, I don’t mind going alone
Mils, hubby and I are serious Trek fans and can’t wait to see the new flick. However, this weekend is travel to the Twin Cities (from Duluth, MN – 2.5 hours away) for a wedding Saturday and then doing a grad open house down there on Sunday for our high school grad son and our college grad son – combo open house. We are doing it in the “Cities” because all of our large family lives there. We were the ones that moved to Duluth for work.
So a funny Trek related thing… In preparation for this grad open house thing, I was editing family videos (age zero to 2 years old for each boy) to have playing at the open house. First of all, you would think we would turn off the darn TV when filming a baby/toddler doing stuff, but nope – back then we had the TV always going in the background. About 75% of the time the TV was on Star Trek in these videos. Now I can’t wait to see if anyone else notices this and comments!
I’m with the botox – especially in the forehead – soccermom- those old ridges have disappeared as far as I can tell. Skin looks wonderful – lots of stuff can help that, I guess. And, do they dye eyelashes? Thought that was dangerous. Not familiar with the crease at the base of his neck. Anyone got a pic of that?
When I say base of neck, I mean in the front, where the top of a t-shirt would hit, or if wearing a choker type necklace – where it would lay. I just watched the Lyndsey Parker interview and I did see a hint of it in that lighting. I would normally think it has disappeared from weight loss, but since he has been skinnier, I have still noticed it, until recently. So I am thinking botox there too unless the good eating habits and juicing has just gotten rid of the bloating that maybe made it visible even when skinny?
I am actually really glad he did the botox or whatever, because those deep forehead furrows were aging him more than his actual age. Although those kinds of creases are mostly genetic. I mean, I am “29” and don’t have any in my forehead (eyes are another story), but hubby has the deep furrows and has had since late 20s. With my sons, it is every other kid. Oldest is Adam’s age and has the furrows a little. Nothing in next kid, but college grad already has deep furrows (earlier than his Dad did), but he has a face sort of like Jim Carrey where he can move it all kinds of different ways and can lift up one eyebrow alone, instead of both – and he can do this with either eyebrow. Since this fascinates people, he does it alot. But I think he just has my hubby’s skin.
Whose skin do we think Adam has? Mom’s or Dad’s?

I was out when I got that twitter alert to the Yahoo story. Funny, with 2 other friends and we passed around my phone and headphones so we could listen to the interview, then played another round of “pass that phone” so we could watch the duet again. I think the waiter thinks we were nuts. He kept trying to look at my phone without us noticing. I finally said Adam Lambert. He smiled and said oh, Idol last night? Big tip for him.

soccermom – here are a few good pics from last night that show Adam’s face really clearly. He had very little makeup on last night; I detect some mascara and only the barest bit of eyeliner, and probably some light foundation. I still see the line at his neck – although it’s still there, but I think maybe it’s less prominent since he’s lost weight? And I agree about his forehead – the lines there used to be much more prominent than they are now.

Anyone remember Michael Sarver from Season 8? He was the oil rigger who’s stereotyped opinions were totally turned upside down by Adam. At first he and Danny Gokey were close friends but then he became one of Adam’s staunchest supporters. When at the end of the tour they were all asked to say who their biggest influences were, expecting that they would name singers, he said, Adam Lambert. Interesting, throughout the day on Friday, the Mariah video was way out in front of the rest, followed by Candice/JHud, and Angie/JJ and Angie/Adam were fairly close together at 3rd and 4th, with Angie/JJ just slightly ahead. Then, for some reason, the Angie/JJ video started to pull ahead in large paces, eventually passing both Candice/JHud and Mariah’s vids by a large margin. The Candice/JHud vid has now also caught up to Mariah.
I wondered if some of these top videos might be gathering attention because of some level of controversy or drama about them, so, just for kicks and late-night musings I compared their likes/dislikes/comments as well:
Angie/Jessie J: 243,905 views, 2887 likes (1.18%), 86 dislikes (.035%), 766 comments (.32%)
Mariah Carey: 186,443 views, 2839 likes (1.52%), 167 dislikes (.09%), 1662 comments (.89%)

So, this is interesting. Of the top 7 viewed performances, the Angie/Adam performance is the most actively “liked” by a substantial margin and least actively “disliked,” and it is also generating a high percentage of comments. This is great!!
Although the Angie/JJ video has the most views, it is also the performance least actively “liked”, and it is also generating the lowest percentage of comments. The most actively “disliked” performance is PSY, followed by JLo/Pitbull (JLo/Pitbull also comes in second for least actively “liked”).
(As the objective researcher that I am, I should say that, in fairness to Angie/JJ, percentages can be tricky to compare when the denominator is very large or very small, so the higher the viewcount goes, the rate of “likes,” “dislikes,” and comments won’t always keep pace and the percentages may drop off.)
So all of this analysis was interesting, but it didn’t really explain why the Angie/JJ video is outpacing all the rest of the performances. I did see in the comments section for the Angie/JJ vid lots of comments about JJ’s shaved head and about how Angie should have won, as well as a fair number of compliments about the performance itself.
The great majority of the comments on the Candice/JHud video are very complimentary about the performance, although some of them complain that JHud oversang Candice.
The comments in the Adam/Angie video are almost entirely focused on how beautiful the performance was, how great Adam is, and how wonderful they were together.
Funnily enough, the Mariah and JLo videos’ comments have lots of sniping back and forth between Mariah and JLo fans about who was really singing and who was lip-synching.

Re the shaved head…yes to both suggestions, Sinead and Susan P…but then I realized that the image I had in mind was a store mannequin that I had in my office when I was a buyer. All are sort of interchangeable.
Re skin, botox, etc…I have thought for a while that Adam’s skin was getting better. That was money well-invested. Dermabrasion, peels, whatever seem to have really diminished the acne scarring that used to be quite prominent in some lights.
Not sure I feel the same way about botox/filler if it happened. That can be the beginning of a long road of seeing and wanting to ‘fix’ ‘imperfections’. Those furrows are gonna come. Lines gonna come. Add character to a face, IMHO.
And finally, that photo of the two moms with Angie and Adam was eerie…Leila looked more like Angie’s mom and Angie’s mom looked like she matched Adam better. Leila is very attractive (I’d kill for her hair!) and that heavy makeup really ages her. She doesn’t need it and I would like to see her use a lighter hand. Totally none of my business tho!
I notice on the Adam/Angie duet posted above the count is now 161,203.

The more I think about it, the more perfect the choice of Titanium was for Adam. What must he have been thinking as he sang it? We know that he always chose songs that had meaning for him. Angie chose this, but clearly it was resonating for him, too.

I hope RCA will take note of the duet and strike while the iron is hot!. I can see problems with Stay because that’s a current song, but Titanium is a year old. Wouldn’t think it would be that hard to get rights, whatever, etc. But as usual they will miss the boat.
BTW I love that Adam doesn’t talk much about new music. I didn’t care to listen to every single detail about Trespassing’s songs, collabs, song titles and of course releasing the album on-line the day before actual release!! Just don’t understand that. Gives illegal downloaders a treat and people that may only listen once and not give it a chance, time to dismiss it. I want to be surprised!! I do hope, however, there will be a third album or EP.
