Ron – Thanks for sharing the Barbra and Il Divo video and the Mother’s Day wishes. HK fan – would love to see where Robert Plant said that. Hubby is a big Robert Plant/Led Zepplin fan and I remember trying to get him to listen to Adam’s version of WLL. This may get him to listen and agree with Robert!

Kiwi, luval, and HK fan, I wasn’t trying to diss Mel B. I really didn’t know her. I didn’t follow the spice girls didn’t know of any of the things that she did afterward. I had just read a little blurb about how she had always stood up for equality. I just wanted to make sure that she was worthy to introduce Adam, and if you say that she is, then that is good enough for me.

You weren’t alone in questioning the significance of Mel B. presenting this award to Adam. But after reading about her many and continued efforts to support the LGBT community, I think she was a very appropriate choice. I thought her speech was excellent!
I do wish though that the audience was more enthusiastic. Perhaps though there were no microphones in place to capture the audience’s true reception of and reactions to the speeches.

Regarding the audience response, or lack of it…seems as though the same thing was apparent at the last GLAAD appearance he was at 3 years ago. Tough crowd I guess. He sang at this one and was really trying to get the crowd excited. Don’t think it worked, though.

The only song they didn’t do was the Hallelujah. But, it was magnificent. And our seats! Just like when I saw Adam. LOL. They just didn’t lay on any stairs. But they did banter and joke and play with fans. Such flirts!
So, last night on our drive home, the late night radio classic rock whole album was The Song Remains the Same, and I turned it on just in time for WLL. The loooong version. I hadn’t heard that in a very long time, and, while listening, I heard so many of the little touches, nuances, guitar licks, vocal tricks, moans, etc that Adam and Monte and Tommy put into the GN performances. They really were “students or schooled” by Plant and Page. I’m so glad to hear that Plant considers Adam’s versions the best cover of all. I wonder which version he saw or heard, because, IMHO, what he did on Idol live and in the CD for Idol simply ain’t nothing in comparison to what he did live. And, when you consider the difference between, for instance, Fantasy Springs and Cologne, it is simply pure artful mastery. I never get tired of hearing or seeing those at all.
And to think that Zep’s version was a cover of a little Delta Blues song from way back in the 20’s or 30’s. Love that.
You know, I think we are going to loose Adam the singer to something way bigger, IE, Ronald Reagan the movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger the movie star, along with other people in the industry that had a calling for something they needed to do. I have always thought this, and I have a feeling that Adam knows that too, saying he just wants to sing, and not be a politician for gay or equal rights.
luval, I tend to agree with your “goofy faces” theory. He changed his avi just after a rather lengthy spontaneous trend on Twitter (I’m guilty, too, I tweeted some of my fave fotos) of “#AdamLambertIsBeautiful” where each tweeter attached a favorite foto. There were tons, I tweeted at least 4. Maybe he saw it – really, how could he miss it???
I also didn’t loooove Leila’s dress, but gotta remember the camara adds 10 lbs. they say, and on a tiny frame like hers it can distort. Probably looked very nice in person. But I do looooove that he probably chose her dress to match his shirt. He’s a sweetie.
Loved his speech! Some may not have loved some of the content, but what he said IMHO they NEED to hear. Still fearless Adam!
I have disliked Frank Ocean since he “came out” but then distanced himself from any association or labeling as gay-bi. Had to rethink that – like Adam said, there is diversity, and he shouldn’t be defined by his orientation either. Still think he is overrated and benefited from the hype.

I can’t tell you how many times I have listened to Adam’s speech. Such a beautiful human being both inside and out. How thoughtful and self-deprecating and inspirational and did I say beautiful??? I have watched so many times that now I find my eyes wandering over to the two models holding the awards. Between their not knowing what to do with their eyes, licking their teeth so that they can continue to smile smoothly, and checking their cleavage, I find it all quite distracting. Thankfully I have the alternative video to watch that luval just posted that is more focused on just Adam.
Miss Chaos, I hope Adam channels his charisma into a larger platform but I’m hoping it is more on the creative end of things (variety show; international singer/actor/super celebrity) versus political. I believe that Adam being Adam is making a huge difference in all parts of the world. All the young fans in Asia and the Middle East. That has to be a positive sign.
Am so excited for this week’s AI finale. I couldn’t imagine myself uttering those words a month ago. Hah!

Hi asif. Yes,Lyndsey Parker is a huge fanbert, always has been. She clearly states that Adam is her favorite Idol contestant ever and mentions him in every Idol recap she does. She even came to London for the Queen shows and went to two of them. And she looks exactly like her mother! By the way, Michael Slezack’s mother loves Adam, too. What’s not to love?

I was sooo much behind, I basically knew what Adam was up to, thanks to occasional hints on Twitter, but had no time to follow any conversations. Every night I was so tired of all that outdoors work that I just fell to bed. The good thing is that I can always listen to Adam’s music, I never get bored of that 
So happy for the new song, can’t wait to hear it all! And that Idol clip, so great
Idol is almost 2 weeks behind here, but I don’t mind reading the results in advance. And I’m sure vids of whatever Adam performs and with whom on finals are in youtube sooner than we say a word

Soooo…I left the ER (a VERY memorable Mothers’ Day…) and am curled up with my iPad and just listened to Adam’s speech. i’d bet money he wrote it alone, and it sounded authentic and classy and sincere.
I think I agree with the post above that says Adam is here for better things than entertainment. No one is given gifts just because god has them lying around and distributes them randomly. Don’t know what Adam is meant to do with his gifts, and I don’t think he knows yet, either.
Gonna be an interesting journey.
