After we were showered with Adam goodies in April, let’s see what flowers in May. With recent tweets about new music and GLAAD honoring Adam with the Davidson/Valentini Award, May seems as if it will be a very merry month indeed. And we can’t forget the Life Ball in Vienna later in the month! Let’s hope for more great pics like we had from the CMAs (China not country music), Live Proud PSA and Miami Beach Pride.

    asif– Yes, we are going to Salzburg, in addition to Prague, Brataslava, and Budapest. Since I’ll be in Vienna the night of the Live Ball, I’m hoping to watch it live on TV. In any case, the whole city of Vienna will have a special aura over it for me, knowing that Adam is there in his harem pants contributing to this spectacular performance. I’m so happy for him.

    oh mmm222, you are going to Prague! Such a beautiful city. I have been there twice and loved it. We stopped in Bratislava for the afternoon on the way from Prague to Budapest and I don’t remember much except for some fun full sized sculptures of people sitting on the public benches. I loved Budapest but remember thinking that she was like a grand old dame in need of a face lift. If you get a chance go to the Gellert Baths. It is a magnificent Art Nuveau building with incredible decorations inside and the baths are so much fun. Here is a YouTube that someone made of a visit to the Baths. The funny thing is that he shows the men’s thermal baths but doesn’t mention that there is a women only section, too, where the women are free to relax in the hot baths , with or without bathing suits! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKcL4V-GOfU ) We stayed at the hotel that adjoins the spa so we had free access.

    I was in Vienna just for a day and I have to say that my favorite part of it was seeing Klimpt’s The Kiss ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kiss_(Klimt)) in real life. It was so much more fabulous than all the photos and posters. If you like art and have time, try and go to see it.

    (p.s. you can see from this where my interests lie, aside from Adam, of course)

    Prague, Brataslava, and Budapest are on my bucket list. Always fascinate with those places and dream to visit there.

    Thanks for posting that Sutan vid, asif. I love him and love Raja. It was great watching him create the look (I was our school’s theater make-up expert in high school a million years ago!), and I love Josephine Baker. She was such a brave woman and a real trail blazer. As a woman of Color she had to go to France to be able to make a name for herself as a performer in those days. I saw a documentary about her and it was fascinating.

    So I guess we should all power vote for Angie tonight. I totally forgot she did a duet of Stay with Candice. I hated the arrangement but they got a standing ovation from the judges. So I doubt if there would be another duet of Stay with Adam. Here’s the Idol video for those who missed it.

    I was in Salzburg (long time ago) and on the Sound of Music Tour which included visitting the Gazebo of the Von Trapps. The American Express company got to move the gazebo to the front for the tourists. We danced around in the gazebo singing “We are 16 going on 17 ..”

    Fun time.

    Here is a modern duet that I could imagine Adam and Angie doing. Mostly I just wanted to see if I could bring something here to share. Another of my personal goals. If it doesn’t work, back to the drawing board and a consult with 20 year old son.

    rs: You brought back memories with the video you posted. I was in the Gellert baths many moons ago, visited Budapest and Prague in my twenties. Went by train when I still lived in Germany, split a room with a girl from Sydney, I loved the whole thing. So much history and culture.

    Thank you for posting that Sutan vid.
    I’ll admit that I have never liked him; have always seen him as a dark influence in Adam’s life, very negative, and couldn’t understand why he is such a close friend of Adam.
    Watching this vid, I totally get it. He is natural, intelligent, well-spoken, and positive. None of the inner anger that I have seen on the stage as Raja. I still see Raja as a very dark character, but this is the first time that I have really seen that Sutan is not Raja.

    (I know that no one really cares one way or the other what I think of Adam’s friends – certainly not Adam! – but just wanted to point out my change of opinion thanks to the posting of the vid; it resolved an issue for me.)

    (And Lee Cherry is so talented, it is incredible.)
