After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

And, then , I had a realization. Adam’s Feeling Good wasn’t just Muse inspired. It was a combination of Nina Simone and Muse and Adam. The arrangement was pure genius. The vocal. Soaring and magnificent.
Adam story for today. I finally got my new RS in the mail today. I swear my mailman tortures me on purpose, and I had it open to Adam’s single review, laying on the table when son #2 came home from school. He glanced at it, and said, “ma-a-a-am, are you trying to torture me or what?” And my response was “yes.” “There is nothing I like better to do.”
And then I followed with, “get ready for more, May is gonna be big for this Glambert.”
He just shook his head, eyeballs rattling and rolling and walked away… me chuckling in the kitchen.
dcglam, I think they said it was something like a 20 hour shoot for BTIKM, could that be right?
And I think IIHY was also a marathon film session (but not that long).
Adrenaline is a wonderful thing…so is youth.
Off to bed now…some really long and hard dsys this week, and I’m not even shooting a video! And the days seem longer when we are waiting for the 15th and for the 25th and for the 27th…!

This might end up a two day shoot. This may be a good thing, and an indication that TPTB are willing to invest more in Adam’s visions.
As long as it’s a great video, who cares?
My fave is still FYE, for artistic merit. It just has so much style and art direction. WWFM was emotional. IIHY was just camp. BTIKM was good, but, IMHO, over-thought.
No going in the closet for me, not with me planning an 8+ hour trip to see him, and then adding another show that cropped up and dragging the grandkids to it too. LOL The daughters are more tolerant than the son. DH just goes with the flow.
I keep my stanning mostly to myself. However, anybody that lives with me knows my “hobby.”
I’m thinking maybe the band part of the video is just getting started. They may have worked with all the extras earlier.
Adam tweeted at 5:30 this morning, his time, hopefully they’ve gotten something done already!

Very glad I don’t have to put up with eye rolls from Gil. Except for the News in french and the BBC, he’s not passionate about anything else on TV. I watch my own programs in my room.
I first introduced Gil to Adam on the finale night of Season 8. I asked if he’d watch the show and he said he would. The only thing I said to him was, “It’s down to the final two. I have a favorite but I’m not going to tell you which one. Let me know who you like”. We didn’t watch the show together. About an hour later at the half way point, I went into the living room and asked, “So, who do you like better?” “Oh … well … of course, the dark haired one. His name is Adam?”
The next thing that I remember showing Gil was the AOL sessions and I remember he was having some yogurt. I’d already watched those performances 38 times so I was mainly side-eyeing him for his reactions. At one point, he was bringing the spoon to his mouth but stopped midway just staring, transfixed at the computer screen for the longest time. I had to tell him that the yogurt was about to drip on his lap.
He was happy to watch the GNT DVD with me but I could tell he was getting kinda restless towards the end and he went into the living room when “Music Again” started. It’s my least favorite song so I thought that was okay. I called him back into my room during the closing credits where it shows Adam’s shoe has broken. That took place in the lobby of the CBC here in Toronto and that’s where Gil worked for nearly 30 years so I thought he’d like to see that.
I’ve shown him many other things too along the way. Yet, still and all, he has the same pat answer when I’ll ask him, “So, what did you think?” “He’s very talented“. Every time, the same response.
I guess I want him to gush, you know?
“Fantastic”. “Best singer I’ve ever heard”. “Great”.
But, I’ll settle for “He’s very talented” because I don’t have to contend with eye rolls when I talk about Adam.

Great story, Ron – I guess with those close to us we have to learn to be discreet – not push it too much – maybe let them guess a little – wonder what’s going on. Seems to be your method of operation (mine, too, actually). Sometimes it’s hard because I’m so excited about a performance or an interview, but I’ve had almost four years of training so I’m gettin’ pretty good.

Many moons ago, a comment at MJ’s by someone (Q3? or something like that) on an Adam thread said the one thing she wished was that Adam were two years younger. There was a comment at MJ’s today about that concern.
It was with regard to what Adam really wants to achieve – what he would be happy with. Does he want to be a POP Star as successful as Gaga, etc., or would something less satisfy him. Then it was mentioned that at 30, it would be difficult to achieve that kind of status anyway. It does seem to be a young person’s genre.
Does anyone here think that not being in his 20’s is a detriment in any way?
Another quote from a poster at MJ’s years ago who was in some kind of advertising/statistical business said Adam’s “brand” was off the charts and they thought initially it might be an anomaly and that she/he would get back to us. Never did to my knowledge – but have been curious ever since.
Personally, I find it very detrimental!!
Here in Toronto, we’ve celebrated Adam’s birthdays as part of a group and I’m of course aware of how old he is but I never think of his age. He looks kind of ageless to me. I think that people that might be just discovering him will be surprised to learn that he’s 30. Mid-20’s, maybe? He looks younger.

Here, I don’t get eye rolls either. My partner liked Adam on AI and couldn’t understand why he did not win. His favorite number was Mad World and still thinks that it was his best performance.
He does not share my passion to follow Adam and his career though. I get the occasional “How is Adam doing?” question at dinner but other than that I do not bring up things Adam related (or do my best not to)!
My partner did sit down and watch the GNT DVD and enjoyed it. He is really critical of performances when it comes to sound, lighting, production, etc. so I was afraid that his watching it would take away from my enjoyment. Like going to a Adam concert with a non-fan. What a relief that he actually liked it. His comment at the end was “He should have won Idol”!
Last week when Adam was to perform on Jimmy Kimmel, I figured I would watch online (which I did) and then watch videos on youtube (which I did and did and did and am still doing..). We were watching some recorded shows on TV and between shows while my partner was having a bathroom break, I switched the channel to see if Jimmy Kimmel was on. He was and Emily Blunt was being interviewed. My partner yells from the bathroom “Why are you watching that crap?” then paused and continued “Oh, is Adam going to be on there performing?” Caught me! I said yes and that he would be on later and then switched back to the recorded shows. But knowing how much I like Adam and his music, my partner suggested that I should record “my boyfriend” and watch the performance later. So thoughtful! No wonder we’re going on 32 years together! And I watched it later that night while he was in the kitchen. He comes in the living room when Adam starts singing and watches with me and at the end says “he should have won…”
Well, he did and so did we!
Sorry for the long post but thought I would share my “eye roller” story. It seems to be the evening to do that!
I think Adam looks much younger than 30 also. But it is what it is, people will either embrace him at 30 or they will miss out on something wonderful. I can’t imagine my life now without his voice and sexiness, and the many laughs everyday from this fandom.
Of course not every music buyer falls in this deep!!!
My fav age was 27 – living at Webb AFB in West Texas with my husband, Ron, and four little girls (two more later – lol). Remember the sun and tanned arms and legs and all that beautiful youth we once possessed. The land flat with thunderheads rolling in. Future endless.
Glad Adam looks so much younger than 30 – must be the kale. And his skin looks so great, too. Krad said she still saw some scarring when we were in D.C., but in pics and vids doesn’t seem as evident. He looks stunning in the last few months.
MJ lowered the boom in the Evening Thread – banned someone for an obnoxious post. Don’t think Adam related – talking about Durbin/Cook/Daughtry and rock stuff (?). Didn’t catch it.

It seems like we have kind of the same thing going on with our partners feelings about Adam. Kinda. Gil likes him, thinks he’s very talented, but there’s a bit of indifference. Take him or leave him, kind of thing. He enjoys him very much … just not to the degree or level that I do.
From my own experience I tend to find that people like to discover someone by themselves and, when one becomes enthusiastic, they will find reasons not to like this someone – especially true of kids/teenagers. Just normal human behavior – probably do it myself – though being aware of it, do try to show an interest (following the Golden Rule here).
Tomorrow is British Week and Songs of the Sixties for the Fab Five on AI – looking forward to it – especially P2 after last week’s “The Stone.”

It was a year or so now but I remember, and was very surprised, when you commented on how we as group came to be a family and referred to me as the pioneer. At first, I didn’t know what you could have meant by that! Me?! What did I do now?
You went on to explain that I encouraged others to use their real photos (something I’d forgotten) instead of avatars (at that time, only Ceddies was using her photo) and that I would bring up personal things not related to Adam and how that opened the door for others to do the same.
I did? If I did do that then … well, I’m glad I did.
With all of the above in mind, I’m going to take it a step further … and regret this for the rest of my life.

I have a new webcam. I’ve never owned one before so “webcam-ing” of any kind is brand new to me. Anyway, it was just yesterday that I made a video (I say that it’s a “movie” –
) to test the quality of the picture and to try and find out how it worked.
This was never, ever, made for public consumption!
