After what has seemed like an eternally long wait since Adam’s Glam Nation/FYE era ended, we have finally arrived at May 2012 – the month that Adam’s new album “Trespassing” will be released! The album will drop in the U.S. & Canada on May 15th. Lucky fans in New Zealand & Japan will get the album a few days earlier on May 11th, Australia & Germany a few days later on May 18th, while some other European countries (U.K., Ireland, France) will have to wait until July. In addition to the album release, we can look forward to three concerts with Adam headlining this month, the KRZ Summer Bash in Wilkes-Barre PA on May 25th, at Six Flags New England on May 26th, and the Freshtival in National Harbor MD on May 27th. We will also see Adam perform on American Idol May 17th, will have the official push of “Never Close Our Eyes” to pop radio beginning on May 29, and may see the music video for NCOE later this month as well!

Our featured photo for this month’s chat comes from Adam’s mini-concert of April 26th on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

It’s going to be an exciting month as we begin the Trespassing era, enjoy the chat!

luval, I haven’t found a link to the liner notes that I can read, even tried two different magnifying glasses. When I tried to control+, the letters became blurred. Do you have a link that is easy to read that you could post for me?

  2. luval says:

Ceddies…I used the link everyone else has but here the 24/7 link. Maybe it’s better.

Just ordered Gloss magazine. Actually ordered 2 if someone wants one. The Magazine is free…you only pay for shipping. It cost total $8.87. Phone to order is 415-864-5888.

Ceddies, I uploaded it to twitpic. See if you can see it here. In upper right corner, click on view full size and it will enlarge it some.

If that’s not large enough, then right click on the image and save it to your pictures. You should then be able to view it and enlarge it on your screen.

  5. nkd says:

That AQD is the largest I’ve seen! Good job luval!

I was a bit surprised to see Michael Sarver missing

    So was I, Mieps

  7. luval says:

Hi nkd…it wouldn’t even fit on my screen!

  8. nkd says:

    Hi luval! It’s def big!

  9. Ceddies says:

Thanks luval & nkd. I just finished reading it. Wow!

  10. riskylady says:

Re the liner notes: Where Adam is thanking the “writers and producers” he worked with, I wouldn’t expect to see Nile. He didn’t write or produce, he himself clarified that somewhere in his blog or an interview – he played on the track, and is rightly listed as being “featured.” I think Adam has given him lots of love and attention, plus the studio pics and videos. And I think he knows that’s how the music biz works.

And Monte….if I’m not mistaken, Adam met Monte in early 2007 while performing at the Zodiac, and he heard that Monte was looking for a vocalist for Citizen Vein. Up to the time of their falling out (spring 2011, I’m guessing, per reports from the Moscow concert) that’s 4 years, 1 of which Adam spent on Idol and the Idol tour which Monte was not involved in. Not what I would call a lifelong friendship – his friendships with Terrance and Brooke and Alisan date from much earlier. I believe Monte was well compensated for his work with Adam, and extras he received from Adam’s fans. But I don’t think he deserves ANY recognition for Adam’s musical vision, which is completely in another direction. Even while in Zodiac, Adam was doing dance/electronica (his Digital Glitter and collabs with others). Going in another direction in deliberate opposition to a “friend’s” wishes to the point of causing that friend legal trouble at a critical moment in his career is a no-no. So, I don’t miss any mention of Monte. Adam has moved on, and so have I.

I thought Michael was involved with Danny in the dissing of Adam during Idol, then tried to backtrack. Am I remembering it wrong?

  13. glambotgram says:

riskylady very well said. ITA although I didn’t read the actual liner notes, I get the gist of them from reading here.

  14. little dutchess says:

Kradamour in your capacity of DC Housing Coordinator(!)extraordinaire; I have left you a message on the Spring/summer concert thread

  15. milwlovesadam says:

Part of me thinks that Michael Sarver did a genuine turn-around about his feelings, and part of me thinks that he is just connecting himself to Adam still for his own publicity. Whatever, I do think Adam should have mentioned all his top 10 Idols.

It’s kind of like the age old mom question. Do you invite the whole class to the kid’s birthday party or just your best friends?

I always invited the whole class.

I’m thinking the ones who weren’t mentioned by Adam would have hurt feelings. Especially after they all, to a person, said how welcoming Adam was to all of them. Even Gokey.

  16. ultimathule says:

Yeah – feel bad about Sarver – follow him. Heard/saw an interview where he spoke how Adam had opened his mind.

  17. milwlovesadam says:

Hhaha kradamour! You saw my banana warning too late! LOL. But, it looks like you are off to a good start. I try to not make hubby fend for himself, but sometimes I just cook him a big batch of something and serve him left-overs for several days. he doesn’t mind.

Ron: did our cool weather make it’s way to you yet? Still cool here.

I broke my juice fast today with some egg whites, spinach and mushrooms. Three pounds in 3 days. and a 4 mile walk almost every day.

I probably gained 5 pounds back by eating my low-fat, high fiber, high protein, low carb dish. Sigh. Such is the metabolism of Mils.

  18. ultimathule says:

Gokey? – remember that “green” pic he asked Adam to sign at a small party? And that blog where one of DG’s relatives said rotten things about him – her father wouldn’t go near him or some such.

  19. dcglam says:

Wonder if Adam thinks Michael isn’t really sincere?

This is my thought EXACTLY, Kradamour.

Adam seems to be a very good judge of character and can easily identify his true blue friends. The theme of “loyalty” keeps coming up on that “thank you” page. My feeling is that the Idol contestants who were worthy of this special page were totally supportive and loyal to Adam throughout his run on the TV show as well as afterwards. Michael, IMO, seemed to become supportive after the show when he realized that Adam’s career looked much better than his own. I always thought it was a way to gain some Glambert fans. Just my thinking here….. I could be wrong.

  20. glambotgram says:

I’m thinking the ones who weren’t mentioned by Adam would have hurt feelings. Especially after they all, to a person, said how welcoming Adam was to all of them. Even Gokey.

I don’t remember reading anything good about Adam coming from Gokey. But I didn’t like him from the beginning, So I tend not to read things about him, or that he says, so I could have missed it. I always had a feeling there was a lot more that went on behind the scenes at Idol after his “pictures” came out, than we were made aware of. Adam was just too classy to say anything.

    I won’t cry and whine

I think if there are two glaring omissions from the top 10, then Adam meant it to be that way, and there is a reason for it. With all the people it seems he thanked, I think he has the right to leave out whomever he wished.

  21. nkd says:

    cwm…you have fanmail.

I think if there are two glaring omissions from the top 10, then Adam meant it to be that way, and there is a reason for it. With all the people it seems he thanked, I think he has the right to leave out whomever he wished.

    EXACTLY!!!

  23. milwlovesadam says:

glambotgram I do agree. I just think that Adam causes controversy whatever he does or says. I do think that by omitting them he makes a statement between the lines.

I’m from Gokey’s hometown, and we had a lot of press here about Gokey that maybe wasn’t seen by some. I do recall him making some blanket statement about Adam being really helpful behind the scenes to everybody. I think it was during rock week, when Dream On was recommended to him, I think by Adam. Gokey had no knowledge of pop/rock music prior to Idol. He was a church singer/choir director. He was so out of his element. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t stand the guy, and after the incident with the picture of Adam and his family, I really couldn’t stomach him at all.

  24. ultimathule says:

Have to agree with you, dcglam – only Adam knows what really went on.

  25. milwlovesadam says:

Hey, I’m sorry. I really didn’t mean to upset anyone. I guess I’m not wording things right. Adam. of course knows his own experiences best, and has the right to thank who he wants to thank. He knows what he’s doing.

On another note, I wonder if he knows that the title for Pop That Lock is missing?

  26. Teri63 says:

I do think Adam should have mentioned all his top 10 Idols.

Didn’t he include them all on the FYE liner notes, though? I really don’t remember exactly, but it seems like he did. Anyway, he really may just not keep in actual, human contact with them all anymore. Or, it may be that since he’s keeping it more real with this album, himself, that he is honoring those who have consistently been real to him. At a certain point of fame, I’d think you really do take stock of those who have legitimately stood by you from day-one, no matter what your image or rate of success, and those who seem to conveniently “see the light” and materialize once you’ve achieved some level of notoriety. I have a difficult time reading Michael, for some reason, so I don’t really, truly know where he falls in here; maybe he really did become enlightened by Adam? Who knows, but it appears Adam doesn’t seem to think so or has just fallen so out of actual touch with the guy that he’s not considered an influence on the new album in any way. As a fan, though, I’ll tell you that I never liked how Gokey on the one hand seemed to look down his nose at Adam’s more liberal image, yet, IMO, blatantly copied him whenever possible, hoping to garner the same awe and respect Adam was getting. He really made me wanna puke, to tell the truth. He was as plain to read as large printed text! For those reasons (and the horrible green picture incident — I’d forgotten about that sad story), I’m GLAD Gokey wasn’t included.

ETA: For my part, I’m not in the least upset by your conjecturing, Mils. I was thinking all the same stuff. It’s just kind of interesting when someone seems to thank most of the human population yet blatantly leaves a few names unmentioned. It’s just kind of fascinating to theorize about.

  27. Ceddies says:

I think if there are two glaring omissions from the top 10, then Adam meant it to be that way, and there is a reason for it. With all the people it seems he thanked, I think he has the right to leave out whomever he wished.

I too agree with this. I prefaced my statement with “LOL”—the statement that Adam may have needed some of his overinvested fans to help him make his list.

I never thought that Sarver was not in Adam’s corner. He seemed sincere to me. But maybe he wasn’t.

This article may help to shed some light on the Lambert/Sarver relationship during the AI season…

    http://quotingkradam.wordpress.com/2009/06/06/michael-sarver-adam-lambert/

  30. milwlovesadam says:

Teri63, yes, Gokey was copying Adam all the time. Even the “scream” at the end of Dream On. Lawdy, that was horrific.

Anyway, an even more obvious omission and statement between the lines was about Monte. Following the thread at HomePlanet is funny too. But, they do make some good points too. So has everyone upthread.

  31. luval says:

    Adam just tweeted this:

Didn’t he include them all on the FYE liner notes, though?

This is of course from memory … Wink

On FYE from Idol, he thanked in this order: Kris, Anoop, Megan, Lil, Matt, Danny, Michael, Scott, Jackie T, Jaz, Kai, Emily and Dominique.

Not familiar with the last five names.

  33. milwlovesadam says:

Ron, I think, I could be wrong though, that the last few are hair, makeup people.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

Like I said before, I’m sorry if I offended anyone. I truly didn’t mean to.

  35. Ceddies says:

Jackie T, Jaz, Kai, Emily and Dominique.

Not familiar with the last five names.

Ron, I think Jaz was Jasmine Murray who went home first at #10. She is from Starkville (my city). Was that the year they had 13 to start the show instead of 10? I remember Kai also. I liked him a lot but think he may have been like eliminated before the Top 10. I remember there was a Jackie somebody that Matt and some of the others were always talking about. Think she wasn’t in the Top 13 or whatever. Don’t remember Dominique or Emily.

Just went back and looked at Top 36 that season. Jackie Tohn was in the top girls, and Kai Kalama was in the top guys. Can’t find Dominique or Emily,

  36. milwlovesadam says:

Adam’s tweet may have been in reference to his prior tweet about Jessica Sanchez and Joshua “wiping the floor” with the other current Idols.

  37. Ron says:

    Hi mils!

You did it!! Wink It’s been a comfortable and cool 57F today and I’m very happy. Thank you! Big Smile

  38. dcglam says:

And this is connecting Sarver with Gokey…

On the prayer group on the “Idol” set: I didn’t have to start it. Those of us who believe in God and are Christians, we definitely just kind of attach to each other and we’re already there. Danny and I, we pray together and we have times where we talk about God and the things of God and we keep it center in our lives.

Yeah, mils, et al, I’m off, too. My husband and I are having our monthly “date” to Sam’s Club (you know you’re in domestic bliss when… LOL!) Catch y’all later this evening, I’m sure.

  41. dcglam says:

Like I said before, I’m sorry if I offended anyone. I truly didn’t mean to.

mils….I am 100% positive that you did not offend anyone!! Being a teacher, I live your policy on a daily basis. If you bring in birthday treats, you must bring one for everyone. If you bring in valentine cards, there must be one for everyone.

I am just trying to help rationalize Adam’s decisions. Of course, I know nothing. Wink

  42. ultimathule says:

lol – was waiting for Adam to have second thoughts about that tweet.

  43. ultimathule says:

He also said that Jessica kicks their butts – then the diplomatic thing. Keep diggin’ BB. So funny. Doncha love the guy.

    Adam Lambert‏@adamlambert
@JSanchezAI11 oh lawd…. I said I liked u best. Phillip and Hollie are terrific singers. I just think you kick their butts

  45. Ellessay says:

Was cleaning out a drawer and ran across some DVDs–one of which was the 2009 season finale of Idol. So I’ve been reliving the past today. I think I enjoyed that finale the best of all the seasons I’ve watched since then–at least until the end of the show. Frown But even that’s not bad anymore since Adam was able to get what he wanted after all.

I love Allison and Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi is such a generous artist, letting Allison have her moment. It was a beautiful performance.

On Monte, et al, not being listed in the Thank You section: I agree, Adam can mention whoever he wants. It’s also interesting to speculate why some were not mentioned. After putting Monte in charge of the GNT, it seems like he should have been, but I’m not surprised that he wasn’t after all that’s happened. When I watched the videos from GN I noticed there were times that Monte seemed disapproving of Adam’s antics, particularly with Tommy Joe. The only time he seemed to enjoy himself was when he played the acoustic guitar for Aftermath. Even Longineau seemed bored or distracted after a while. The dancers were there 100%. You could tell they were old friends and appreciated the national exposure.

Michael Sarver is a more difficult read. I couldn’t even speculate why he was omitted. I’m sure Adam had his reasons.

  46. Ron says:

We might have the chance one day to have all of our questions answered about what happened behind the scenes, everything that’s confidential now, if and when Adam decides to write his memoirs. Unfortunately, I’ll most likely be gone by then, destination unknown, or someone at Shady Pines will have to read it to me. Big Smile

If he was to publish an autobiography today, what should he title it?

    Mad World

What DID You Want From Me?

    For Your Entertainment

    Broken Open

    Underneath

He’s not at a loss right now for book titles and he probably has another 30 years of future song titles to choose from if wants to go with that kind of theme. Maybe he’ll have a list of movie titles that he could pick from too.

Or maybe he should follow Katharine Hepburn’s example and call it what she titled her book: Me. Smile

  47. rs says:

Maybe I am naive, but I believe what Michael Sarver has said about Adam and the way he opened his eyes and had such an influence on the way he sees and thinks about people. I think that it came as a result of the summer tour together more than the show, since Michael was voted off so early on. I think that being near Adam did have a profound effect on the way that he views people who are different from him and made him challange his own preconceived stereotypes and jugdements. I am not sure, though, how much of a real relationship they had, or that Adam felt the mutual friendship with him that he felt with the others he has mentioned. If he had mentioned him, though, the omission of Scott and Danny would have been glaring.

By the way, I just happen to have my signed FYE cover in my desk drawer, and I just looked at it. He mentions a Dusty among the friends, so I guess it isn’t Dusty Madrid. lol

ETA I commented on the Monte omission, but not because I thought he should have been mentioned. I totally support Adam for doing it! Monte is just beginning to feel the effects of his betrayal, and it will only get worse as he sinks back into obscurity without the support of Adam, his friends, and fans. I don’t miss him at all!

  48. ultimathule says:

Loved your post, Ron – you’re right – lotsa titles he could use. Trespassing, too.

  49. luval says:

So Adam thanks Brian London and says “excited to begin buiding a sick-e-ning show with you, your killer instincts and severe talent”. Interesting to see if this will last.

Did anyone ever hear Adam’s name as this?:

    1982
    Adam Mitchel Anselm Lambert arrives.
1990 – Adam Enrolls In The
    Children’s Theatre Network

Was searching around to see who some of the people were that Adam thanked and saw it.

  50. Kradamour says:

So his initials are AMA Lambert?
    Love it.
