CWM, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. My best to you and your family during this sad time.
I am distressed because DH decided to change our DirectTv satellite plan and upgrade the Tivo box without telling me first and the technician is coming on Monday morning. All my 6 years of Adam programs since Idol Season 9 will be leaving with the old Tivo box and cannot be transferred. DH does not understand why I am distressed. Sheesh.
So miffed about it.

From what I remember the only publicity for QAL was the GMA interview & the Madison Square Garden interview. Other than that it was only word of mouth from the US fans that saw the show. But that was too late since the group moved on to other venues. Yup, you had to be a Glambert to follow their journey.
So fingers crossed here too. So far, the publicity for TOH is Billboard. Nobody I know has ever heard of Billboard except my musician friends. It has to open big on release day. Tuesday? Friday?
And like you said SNL (although their season is ending not that long from now), Jimmy Fallon…I’m hoping that when Neil Patrick Harris starts his variety show (fall I believe), that he can have Adam on his show.
BTW, in regards to Classic Rock magazine (a UK mag). Barnes & Noble finally got in 10 issues (about a month ago). That’s all they order I’m told. I bought one then went back a couple of days later curious to see how many were left. There were none! Who bought these?

Aw cher, I understand completely about the TiVo box! It has happened to me three times when cable TV wasn’t working well and the technicians who came just took the box and gave me a new one. I kept asking for the old one back, but no luck. I lost so much…AI, every time Adam was on E!, or something that was broadcast here, like the EMAs, that CNN interview from Asia, and more. The only consolation is that most of it is on YouTube, you just have to go searching. Now I want to upgrade to HD, but I don’t want to lose last year’s Idol mentoring and this year’s UK X-factor.
Calgary, luval, I debated bringing the subject up in response to LadyNorth’s comment, but decided that while it hurt him in the short run in the US (the timing was perfect for a big jump), it probably helped him in the rest of the world, and in the long run, it will be remembered as a huge step toward equality from the first person to be brave enough to tackle the subject head-on, even if that wasn’t his intention. So I didn’t say anything.

Hi cher, you should check on that. My provider upgraded my recorder here and put in a new unit and the shows were still there (because I still had the same provider). If you are still on TIVO then upgrading the box won’t necessarily mean losing the saved shows, will it?

At work yesterday, one of my workberts and I were looking at the Instagram of Ghost Town at lunch and Berting a bit, when one of my co-workers walked by, and said “WHO is that?” We both said kinda empahtically, ” Adam Lambert.” And the other gal’s response was “Oh, I can’t stand all his makeup and he’s just too much.” So we instantly asked, unh-hunh, where’s the makeup in this picture?” And she just said, “Oh, there isn’t any. Guess he’s moved on to something else.” And then, he is pretty good looking. My friend and I just rolled our eyes and laughed.
I truly hope that WBR gets on the stick and amps up the PR stateside. In PRINT media. Online is so specific , you have to be looking for it.
Oh, and rs, my thoughts exactly about Dig and Jerusalem. Old City, East Jerusalem, back streets, and not even sure how they could film all that they have without locals thinking some of it was for real. I do love the show though. And Jason Isaacs is a great actor, I’m a fan. Has anybody seen Friends with Money? He was such an a-hole in it, but great acting. And, of course, Harry Potter, Lucius Malfoy, blond wig and all. Oh, and The Patriot. He does play a bad guy so well.

Adam is a hot topic in the UK because of New Years Eve concert, which was seen by so many people. It is much easier for him to get profiles and front covers there. He is also well-placed in Europe because of the recent QAL tour.
US exposure is harder to get because he hasn’t been in the public eye recently and he won’t get coveted TV spots like SNL until he is a guaranteed draw for them (not the other way around.) Best guess, he will get Idol, Ellen and other afternoon talk show appearances when the song breaks. After that, it will depend on how the song does. #REALLIFE and #FINGERSCROSSED
Adam’s management and label are very committed to him and will probably do a bang-up job but, personally, I think the best strategy would be to send mils on tour and have her work her one-on-one magic across the US for the next month.

ITA, luval– he will really blow up because he was very, very high profile in 2009 and everybody remembers him, even if he isn’t front of mind at the moment.
The interviewers will have a treasure chest of past moments to pull up. Also, he makes good copy and is an easy interview, which will lead to more attention and appearances.
TLKC what you said 9:55am sounds realistic. Fingers and toes crossed for radio play! Martin/Shellback connection certainly doesn’t do harm. Do I remember right that paying for radio stations/companies sometimes happens too? And streaming/shazam thing matters too to charts.
I’ve been to rabbit hole, found a QAL concert vid set that I love. Mark Bowles Multicams from Manchester. It was amazing show, sound is great and the clips he has used show best angles and most action on stage. I watched the whole show and felt like being there again (even thought I wasn’t in Manchester). I wanted to find the full show from same “shooter”. Imo Manch and Wembley were best UK shows.

……most of other pictures have colors which are harsh to me. I mean I think it was purposely done that way but it makes his stache a little too dark. The hair was incredible in all the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much, rs. Even though the shazaming and streaming matters, radio is still important.
The thing is, Adam’s team seems to be doing all the right things at the moment, in terms of building online traffic around his new song that suggests to radio that he has buzz.
We can do a lot to help there. The most prolific Glambert tweeters are pointing out that we should be re-tweeting every site that features him. Also we should be posting the direct links, not embedding them on our own sites to build traffic for ourselves. (Most Glambert sites do this but a few fans are not above using Adam to enhance their own online profiles.)
The more clicks sites get for featuring Adam, the more interested they will be in doing follow-ups.
Sales matter the most.
Maybe the US will come around to Adam once he becomes a star in the UK. Stranger things have happened.

It all depends on the music and radio play is still very important.
It’s early yet to be fretting about TV appearances. It will come closer to single drop time, and they are probably set up already. If you go on too early people will forget before it’s available.

What happened to GaGa. She had the breakthrough song on radio “Just Dance”. Of course there was no streaming or Spotify (whatever that is). You tube was around but that’s about all. Only 5 years ago. Today is her birthday. She is 29.
She recorded that hit with RedOne. Remember Adam worked with him for a bit but it “didn’t work out”. I have always wondered if the label shot that collab down.

On facebook there was a discussion about the newly turned Queenberts or Glamberts and their expectation in the new music. Would they ( like me i.e. ) turn away if the new album is too much pop and not enough rock? Would they/we be disappointed expecting a more Queen-like sound?
Got me thinking, reflecting what Adams pull and hold on me was exactly after that first concert all those weeks ago. I think there may be some new fans who are going to be disappointed in the new Album as sad as it sounds. You cant make anyone happy and Adam already said that it isnt going to sound like Queen.
Max Martin and Shellback are one of THE pop-producers out there atm. So I dont think there arent going to be much of rock-influences.
Its going to be interested how the old and new fans are going to react in the next few weeks

But, that is Queen and this is Adam. Unless he does something new with Queen or finally does that classic rock covers album, Adam is pop.
Gosh, he can sing many different styles/genres so beautifully but he seems to want to be a pop star! At least for now.
I’m excited to hear this new “deeper lyrics” album! I hope the new fans found with the QAL tour will appreciate Adam being Adam. It’s not going to sound like Queen, only Queen sounds like Queen.

I have wondered many times the term pop and genres commonly speaking. So many different kind of music goes under pop I think. Not all pop is dancy – isn’t Adele and Sam Smith pop too? On FYE there was a lot of “glam rock pop” and also some songs on TP had rock beat, like Chokehold, Runnin, Take back.
Maybe some Queenbert fans are very rock oriented and don’t care about pop music, but maybe Adam will be found by other audience who listens to more pop type of music, not specifically Queen? Anyway I think many people have checked his previous solo music. In UK/Europe I mean.
And it was a cuddle, nkd! Peeps were saying he kissed the dog but that didn’t look like it to me. The cute sweet dog could have bitten his face. Yipes. He’s gotta be watchful and take care of the face!
