The musical force that is Adam is marching full speed ahead. With recent appearances on Drag Race, AI and Glee, he is making his way back into the limelight (not that he ever left it for us here). With a news conference set for Thursday, March 6th at Madison Square Garden, we are sure to find out details of a Queen + AL tour. So get ready to jump on the bus! Oh, and don’t forget that Adam is still appearing on Glee and working on his own music too!
With the special announcement coming it was suggested to use a Q+AL photo for this month’s header. But what about all the other great photos from last month? Oh, the dilemma! Well, I hope this photo is a compromise. Taken at the London show by Mark Gledhill (glemazon), it shows Adam in the shadows about to emerge into the full spotlight. Cross your whatsits so that this tour results in getting this multi-talented performer the respect and recognition that he merits.

The confessional was as cute as I remembered. Loved how he made sure to include other contestants even though it was his moment to shine. Just one of his outstanding qualities.
I thinks these confessionals are amazing. Did the general public have any access to them at the time? Don’t think so. Just shows his dedication to his craft. He’s so articulate, rarely says “like”. He really lived a whole entertainment life before American Idol. And he never got to talk about the cruise ship, traveling in Europe with Hair, Wicked…Debbie Does Dallas, lol He’s been in the biz for 23 years!
I think the extent of the contestants experience on the current Idol show is something like “I’ve been playing at some bars for a couple of years”. They know nothing about music history and the contribution the past singers have given us.

I knew nothing of the confessionals at the time. I think they may have been available either online or with an app and iphone. I was pretty low tech at the time, just anticipated and enjoyed each performance, bought performances from itunes and lingered in them each week!
It was just the beginning of so much more!

mils, IMHO Tyler Green has “new music” “coming out.” That’s it in a nutshell. Had to get himself back in the public eye, as they’ve been out of it for a while. Cynical and dishonest, IMHO. (Or, maybe I’m cynical….)
AL, luval, I looove that Stockholm pic too – after all, he’s been there almost 2 months now, album 3 is probably mostly coming out of there, and on the whole they’ve done a pretty good job of keeping things undercover. Also, love the last one, the screenshot from his last Glee show (this season, at least – hope for more!).

Guys, LOVED those group numbers, I had only seen one of them, or the confessionals either. So adorable! And the myth he has propagated that he can’t do choreographed numbers = a myth. Not SYTYCD material, but a song or two, hell yes! And boy, next to those others, you can tell he is a pretty big guy. Not easy to move all those 6 feet gracefully, but he sure does.
OK, I just listened to the George Michael version of STL, the one certain folks call the “definitive” one. It’s nice, plus nice to have a huge crowd plus a choir with you, but – sorry, Adam took that song to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL, especially the one on day 3 in London. And, his rarely used falsetto has no equal!!
Risky, totally agree regarding Neon Trees. Funny how he “came out” when he has something to sell. IMHO.

Ha mils, I bet you a 4-course dinner with drinks that your state will achieve marriage equality sooner than you think. The SSM fight is pretty much a court matter now. Before the end of June, the 10th Circuit will probably have made it legal in Utah, Kansas, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado and Oklahoma (it’s already legal in New Mexico.) Utah is expected to obtain a stay and appeal to SCOTUS.
SCOTUS may decline to hear Utah on appeal but other cases are in process and only the 5th Circuit is thought to be so conservative that it might ignore the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. I have no idea if there is a case pending in your state but, if there is, then it will go to the 7th Circuit and your state would be on it’s way.
IMHO, SCOTUS might delay for 2014/15 but they will be facing so many circuit court appeals by 2015/16 that they will have a hard time ignoring them.
It will be national by June 2016 at the latest.

I love Petulia Clark. We actually saw her in concert at the CNE 3 years ago and sang along to all the songs. If you have ever seen the play Shirley Valentine, you will know that it is punctuated throughout with Petulia Clark songs – that’s when I fell in love with her music.

The game is 2048. My daughter just showed it to me today.
The gist as far as I understand is:
The pictures are in reality tiles with number 2,4,8,16,… up to 2048. Every time you combine two identical numbers, you get a tile with twice that value. You need to maximize the points on your tiles. The game ends when your board is full and you can’t make a move any more.
I must admit, it’s kinda funny how when you match up sleepy wakey uppy Adam , and he bumps into himself, his eyes open.

Thanks cwm for finding that, well, essay on Adam’s voice. It was so well written, and I loved reading it, but it’s not the one I was thinking of. The one I remember had more to do with Adam’s huge store of musical knowledge (he really does study it!), and whenever he needs something to enhance a song or a performance, he has the talent to just pluck it off the shelf and employ it. Of course, it was a whole bunch better described than I just have, but for some reason the idea intrigued me. I’m reasonably, pretty much sure, almost without a doubt, probably know for a fact that I didn’t make the whole thing up. Nope. It’s somewhere!

Mils I’ve noticed Toronto and Chicago both have a high number of ALL members planning to attend. I wish I could be a part of it. When I was having trouble getting tickets for Las Vegas I actually considered spending a Saturday in Detroit so we almost ended up in the same neighborhood again. (It will happen again.) That Labor Day trip to Des Moines, Rockford and Peoria still remains one of my best memories ever. Great company and I got to meet Adam.

I enjoyed watching Adam’s Season 8 confessionals again. The confessionals were all posted on YouTube during Season 8. I was barely computer literate back then, but YouTube became my best friend. I found the confessionals during my (extensive) search of the internet for all of Adam’s previous recorded performances. Adam was so sincere and articulate in them. As if I needed any more excuses to fall madly in love with him during Season 8. Hmmm…not much has changed in the past 5 years except that he just keeps getting better and better.
