The musical force that is Adam is marching full speed ahead. With recent appearances on Drag Race, AI and Glee, he is making his way back into the limelight (not that he ever left it for us here). With a news conference set for Thursday, March 6th at Madison Square Garden, we are sure to find out details of a Queen + AL tour. So get ready to jump on the bus! Oh, and don’t forget that Adam is still appearing on Glee and working on his own music too!

With the special announcement coming it was suggested to use a Q+AL photo for this month’s header. But what about all the other great photos from last month? Oh, the dilemma! Well, I hope this photo is a compromise. Taken at the London show by Mark Gledhill (glemazon), it shows Adam in the shadows about to emerge into the full spotlight. Cross your whatsits so that this tour results in getting this multi-talented performer the respect and recognition that he merits.

    Gosh, where is everyone????? so quiet. I’ll only be able to pop in briefly over the weekend, of to the HK rugby 7’s….normally we go all 3 days, which makes it such a tiring weekend, just going sat and sun this year.

    2 people in the last month or so told me Queen were doing the entertainment this year…I haven’t seen anything to back that up though. Last year it was the Beach Boys, and they were great. It helped that the sun was shining, this year it looks like its going to be foggy, damp and drizzling..

    I hate it when comments say “the band should call it a day” or “retire”. (from the comments on that E article from 5 years ago). What are they gonna do, sell shoes? People want to hear their music and they want to please the people. The show must go on and it is!!!!yay!!!

    Funny – in fact, LOL = somebody wrote Freddy Mercury wasn’t theatrical. That’s a person who doesn’t know what theatrical means or never saw any Queen footage. I hope Adam decides to be Adam and find himself a modern band though I would pay long money to hear him sing Guns and Roses’ “Sweet Child O’ Mine”.

    Hi asif….yes, its my daughter, but I must admit, I actually quite liked the song too. the parts with her were filmed in London….

    Just back from the 7’s….and it wasn’t Queen, but Queen extravaganza with Marc Martel…..he was actually pretty good, but you can tell he’s been watching Freddie videos for the moves..

    Loved seeing your daughter on that video, HK fan. The song is pretty good, too. It will be interesting to see if it takes off. Another reason for tracking the charts.

    The Queen + Adam tickets for July 28th in Toronto are selling at a fine click. After 100 minutes on sale the front floor and the 100 levels are going fairly fast. Interesting to see some of the blue dots disappear in real time when you refresh. It’s going to be a sell-out, too.

    HK, what a beautiful daughter you have! Did anyone get shades of Wake Me Up on the opening few bars of the video?

    Musings on a slow Saturday before dinner here for me: I’ve been trying to find something that was in a twitlonger whose link was posted here. Talking about how Adam is always studying and absorbing all things music, not just as a professionally related hobby, but as a unique gift that’s both intellectual and visceral on a level that is part of his genius. I wonder if it’s like having a sonographic instead of a photographic memory, this vocal and performance related “arsenal” of his.

    With all this purposeful retention, he seems able, even as he’s singing, to delve down and find a phrasing or run or modulation that he wants at that instant to make his performances ever fresh. Of course with his natural talent and the hard work he’s done to maximize it, he makes it all seem effortless.

    Ok, this was seriously paraphrased from the original, but I kind of love this explanation for why he’s so good at so many different singing genres, and so successfully colors his voice from operatic to rock wail to blues, etc.
