The musical force that is Adam is marching full speed ahead. With recent appearances on Drag Race, AI and Glee, he is making his way back into the limelight (not that he ever left it for us here). With a news conference set for Thursday, March 6th at Madison Square Garden, we are sure to find out details of a Queen + AL tour. So get ready to jump on the bus! Oh, and don’t forget that Adam is still appearing on Glee and working on his own music too!
With the special announcement coming it was suggested to use a Q+AL photo for this month’s header. But what about all the other great photos from last month? Oh, the dilemma! Well, I hope this photo is a compromise. Taken at the London show by Mark Gledhill (glemazon), it shows Adam in the shadows about to emerge into the full spotlight. Cross your whatsits so that this tour results in getting this multi-talented performer the respect and recognition that he merits.

Where is this news coming from? Does anyone know? I hope to goodness it’s accurate. Feels accurate. The last thing Queen wants is for this to slip out today – Oscar will be the entertainment news for the next 2 days and they want it to be a fresh story on Thursday. As much as I want to know the dates, I hope the leakers leave something for Thursday.

Now about the Queenbert tour. It is my dream to have the shows so popular that they’ll have to add additional ones. I think we can pretty much say this is the last tour for Queen. Anyway I googled Billboard’s top grossing tours of 2013…top 25.

I would think non of these acts would tour this year unless they extend into 2014. I know some have 2-3 year tours. Even Iron Maiden (no.25) grossed almost 45,000,000. But someone might take the time to check out gross compared to how many shows they performed (I’m lazy lol). So these top 25 may not seem what they are.
And also, I want Rolling Stone or some other big rag…I mean mag…to say the top tour to see this summer is Adam Lambert & Queen and to have them on the cover!!!!!!!! Asking too much?

They say that J-Lo and Ricky Martin grossed $20 million in their 20-concert tour two summers ago. (They actually cancelled a couple of dates.)
Based on the limited Q + PR box office figures we have, it’s not impossible that a limited tour could gross a million dollars per venue in the US (if they stick to arenas). Perhaps Queen will jet off to Asia from the west coast to do a few dates there and return to the UK by way of Frankfurt, with a few dates in Germany. They are very popular in both places. Aely posted some impressive box office numbers from prior Asian concerts and they have played to stadium-sized venues there.
I just hope the boomers will come out in force to support them. I know a few that have NEVER been to a concert yet love music. Also the young people. To me that’s why it’s important to get advance press & promo to make this the must see tour of the year. People will go whether they know much of Queen or not but sometimes they need a little help!
eta: I should say “I want people of all ages, sizes, shapes, colors, sex, ethnicities, everyone!!!! to support the tour.
Boomers are the backbone of the concert circuit. If you look at the last few years, legacy bands make up a majority of the Billboard Top 10 Box Office Tours and a significant number of the Top 20. Boomers have money and memories. The people who fork out for the Stones/Led Zeppelin etc. are the same people who fork out for team sports. I love Barracuda. I’m so glad that Lea finally got her duet with Adam. Lea never holds back, so I’m happy that Adam really cut loose. His vocals were incredible. I also liked Gloria a lot, although a little more “solo” time for Adam would have been nice.
