Adam is continuing his “We Are Glamily” mini-tour of Asia as March begins. This tour will proceed to Russia and Eastern Europe later this month, wrapping up in Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Above we see Adam in one of the iconic poses of the tour thus far, at the third Tokyo show on February 21 (photo by @letmelive81). We will see what the rest of the tour holds in store for us this month, and perhaps we will start to get some idea as to Adam’s plans for the upcoming spring and summer as well. Enjoy the chat!

    So I just looked up the recipe for a Singapore sling. It’s been years since I drank hard liquor; I was def a gin girl, there’s pretty much nothing you could make with gin that wouldn’t appeal to me enough to at least try it. Gotta say the Singapore sling sounds prety awesome, the serious one. Lots of shortcut versions on the web with fewer ingredients…a good mixed drink should have layers of flavor that hit in succession, something complex and interesting.

    It was time to overturn DOMA when it was first enacted. It can’t possibly withstand Constitutional scrutiny, which everyone knew even then. They were just buying time and doing what they could to gum up the works.
    IMHO, of course, but I studied and taught DOMA law when I was at the university.

    Haha, cwm, that’s exactly my situation. If I was less squeezed by my family/job obligations, the distance would not stop me. Gay Pride alone would certainly be the source of extra eye-rolling. That alone would be worth it, come to think of it. Wink

    Hate it that Adam is going to be here in Florida and I won’t be able to go. It’s too far away and my car won’t make that trip. Not sure I could get anyone to go with me either, particularly my husband. I can’t imagine him at a gay pride event. If Adam ever comes to Orlando or Jacksonville, I’m there! Might be able to do Tampa too.

    I’m NW of Orlando, so it’s about a five hour drive, I believe. I haven’t been down there since I was a kid.

    We’re still one income (mine) so money is tight. I don’t want to put the extra miles on my old car–trying to make it last as long as possible.

    I’ve got daughters in Orlando and Jacksonville, and a niece in Tampa, so I’ve got a place to stay and transportation to any of those venues. Not sure I can talk them into a trip to Miami for a Gay Pride event. I don’t think any of them have ever been to Miami.

    According to twitter, Adam was talked about tonight on 20/20. Evidently Barbara Walters talked about how even losers succeed on American Idol and mentioned him. I didn’t watch, but maybe someone on the west coast will catch the show.

    luval, tlkc, I posted on the planning thread about the Miami Beach event. If you come you can bunk with me if you don’t mind my clutter. I am a packrat. Evil Grin Just remember it’s Miami Beach, it’s on the beach and it’s hot as heck during the day with thousands of people packed together in a relatively small area. The humidity can be unbearable sometimes. Just preparing you northerners that aren’t used to this weather and it won’t even be summertime!

    The concert starts at 8 PM Jakarta time (9 AM EDT, 6 AM PDT).

    TLKC, yes I was in London McDonalds. But there was so many of us, I had never met anyone so it was a bit chaotic Smile (I wasn’t yet in UK when dinner was, unfortunately). I sat next to riskylady and paulanation was across the table, talked with them mostly. And Cher I met on the venue before the concert Smile

    There will be 50 peeps on the dinner in Helsinki, half is Finnish, half around Europe & US. These get togethers are a big part of the concert fun, I realized my friends don’t understand it’s not only the concert I am going. It gives so much more to get excited about it before, during and after with other fans Smile I love to read all these recaps from the shows, try to do my best later about Helsinki concert! If I am still alive Grin

    AL I installed a “hide your IP” add on, as you call it, as instructed by ron on Firefox, which isn’t my usual server (I use explorer or google chrome). Then when I want to watch something that is blocked here I just copy the url address, open firefox, paste it there, and voila, I can watch! It got too complicated to keep changing the address, so I just keep set for the US. It does really slow down the server, though, which is why I only go there when I want to watch something that was blocked.

I loved the portion aely posted. Jim is a hoot (forgot he was Glambert 6969.) Of course, it’s Adam’s favourite part, lol!

    RE: DOMA. I’m with Kradamour. There was much political talk at the time about Clinton cravenly courting the middle by signing something that by rights he should have led on AND that he knew would not stand up in court. He’s been out of office for 12 years and it has taken him far too long to say so, imho. Maybe he just hated to admit that he was wrong. (Note: fellow Toronto Glamberts will tell you that this didn’t stop me from asking him for a hug when we bumped into him at the Ritz on the day of the first Hammersmith concert so, what can I say? He doesn’t tarnish easily, though goodness he should.)

    HK Fan, Ron sent me a photo of you and hubby yesterday to help prod my memory and all I can say is woot! your hubby is hot!!!!! I bet we said hi to each other but my memory is a fog beyond Cher and the Ste-Agathers. I am sure we will meet at some point. My nephew may be teaching English in Korea in the next year and I can see an Asian trip timed to an Adam tour (if our Rock God so ordains.)

    Had dinner with Sleepwalker1877 last night and she recalls the Ste-Agathe moment with Kradamour because it appeared on the jumbotron but doesn’t know if there is a photo out there. I will check with the other FAB5-ers. We are not sure if our tiny perfect traveller milkywayfairy is home from Asia yet but she is a big pic taker so possibly.

    Oh, Miami. Too far. Too tempting. Too expensive. No time off from work. But, if their Pride Fest is anything like ours, all sorts of people go. Gay, straight, whatever flavor you are. There’s good entertainment. It’s very inclusive. And super OTT.

    Five whole days till his next concert (how spoiled we have become) so with nothing else to do, lol, it seems to be time to reminisce. That is just what I did today. When I am in the car I only listen to Adam, and since last summer I have basically had Trespassing and the Queen/Adam concert on repeat play, but before I left for Malta I took the CD out of the player and since coming home I just had the radio on. So today, I pulled out my “Adam Sampler” a compilation CD I made while waiting for Trespassing to come out with samples of my favorite early, Idol, postIdol, and GNT songs. I didn’t even remember exactly what was on it, or the order, so I revelled all over again in hearing Dust in the Wind, Come to Me Bend to Me, Crazy, Tracks of My tears, etc, all the songs that made me fall in love with him in the first place. I got home before it was over but I know that I will hear some of my favorite acoustic songs, including Fantasy Springs WLL and Broken Open from Osaka which I haven’t heard in ages. I can’t wait to get into the car again. I love Trespassing and his concert vids, but when he hits and holds that note in Come to me Bend to Me I stop breathing and my insides turn to mush.
