Adam is continuing his “We Are Glamily” mini-tour of Asia as March begins. This tour will proceed to Russia and Eastern Europe later this month, wrapping up in Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Above we see Adam in one of the iconic poses of the tour thus far, at the third Tokyo show on February 21 (photo by @letmelive81). We will see what the rest of the tour holds in store for us this month, and perhaps we will start to get some idea as to Adam’s plans for the upcoming spring and summer as well. Enjoy the chat!

This is so so cute. Adam is adorable with kids. This is at the Shanghai airport I think. There’s another pic where he gave her a high-five but I don’t have that link unfortunately.

The list of “Upcoming Shows” in the top right is getting shorter Frown

I am still holding out some hope for a LA show to close out the Trespassing era in April or May, as he did in December 2010 with the FYE era. And of course hope springs eternal for North American Queen + Adam dates. We might get a couple of one-offs this summer in any case. Adam did do the Moscow gig in May 2011 and Ste. Agathe in July 2011 during a hiatus period. I would expect he will be busy writing and in the studio for the most part though, RCA will likely want this next album out as soon as possible.

eywflyer, Ron, Adam’s AOL sessions are now on VEVO and form part of the videos that he can derive income from by getting views.

Thanks for bringing this up riskylady. I keep forgetting that! I think I can “force” myself to sit through a few Trespassing AOL Session’s today. Wink

In non-Adam news, I’m really shocked and saddened to learn this morning that Valerie Harper has a rare form of terminal brain cancer with a prognosis of less than 3 months to live. She’s 73 years old.

I’m also shocked and saddened to realize that Perez Hilton has just become a father!! What?! Poor baby … literally, the poor baby!

Let’s hope fatherhood will mellow him and that this child will have a decent upbringing.

  9. TLKC says:

OMG, I just read this and I’m tearing up at the sweetness. Why can’t Adam’s fans write fan fics like this:

    http://ca.shine.yahoo.com/blogs/parenting/one-ny-couple-found-son-subway-family-made-193600740.html

Well that’s a bit too sentimental, I guess, but this article made my day.

  10. TLKC says:

Oh, Ron. Poor Valerie Harper. She was a favourite of mine. I hope that the baby isn’t living with Perez. It would be better off with the mother, whoever she is. OTOH, how responsble can she be bringing a baby into the world who will be influenced so deeply by him. Yikes!

  11. TLKC says:

My thoughts, too, eywfler. Adam will get concert invitations from various promoters. Bet he takes a few. Lets start putting away our pennies so that we can have a real, physical group hug somewhere on this god-forsaken continent in the next 6 months (the forsaking god being Adam.)

    rs asked…
Does anyone know if the youku vids from China have been converted to you-tube? I have a hard time watching them, they are very slow, and I can’t always download them to realplayer. The 85 minute concert just downloads six minutes. Thanks

rs, yes there are youtubes of some videos from Shanghai but not the full concert. I will put the links to the youtubes in the Shanghai thread in the comments.

  20. luval says:

So I am at work and the AMA’s are brought up. Was talking to someone about Adam and another person overheard us and said something like “Yeah, great guy…what else is he going to do on stage. I remember that awards show. It was disgusting.” So the only thing I could do was tell him to look up Pink, Madonna & Gaga’s videos and he’d see women doing the same thing. The old double standard. He seemed surprised.
It will never go away. Frown

  21. rs says:

    Thanks AL

  22. adamized says:

well luval I predict that eventually it will go away or morph. Either Adam will always be somewhat of a niche performer in this country and eventually most folks won’t be interested in what he did so many years ago or he will become a superstar here and folks will see what he did as being ground-breaking and inspired. People are fairly fickle and easily swayed by group opinions.

I for one, am sorry that the AMAs turned out the way they did since it has made the road for our fellow more difficult than it had to be. OTOH he has been able to follow his own path and let loose in a way that may have been difficult if the AMAs hadn’t happened.

  23. luval says:

Thanks for your post, adamized. I am not going to let people like this get me down. I continue to shout the praises of our boy and how proud I am to be connected with all of you. And they are all jealous!!!! I know it!!! Smile Yes

  24. Calgary says:

luval I’m with you. Adam had always been headstrong. I can think of the AMA’s, the cover of FYE, the almost two years to put out an album, and who knows who chose the singles. It all goes back to the flaming headdress, but Lee Cherry isn’t there with a firm upper hand and a cooler head. I think Adam has made some marketing decisions that have prevented him from having a mega-career, at least to begin with, but he has done it all his way and perhaps that gives him greater peace than having the PTBs force him on a path of their choosing that might have brought greater fame and fortune. Especially if the money story is like that one that AL or someone else posted here the other day. He love is to perform, and he is doing lots of that, even if it’s not on NA soil. When you hear how many stars took a number of years to really hit the big time, his trajectory looks pretty good. He just better put out a new album soon. Grin

  25. adamized says:

Thanks luval. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the boy does something in the US or in Canada or somewhere in Europe we all want to visit……

Let’s all keep up that visualization.

  26. HK fan says:

    Whose Valerie Harper??

I was standing next to a lady at the HK concert, who was there on her own. She was just in HK for a week, and saw an advert that morning, and was really excited as she’s a big fan. She lives in Belfast, but didn’t have an Irish accent. I said to her, you don’t sound Irish, and she said she’s actually from South America, so I said, I thought you sounded Argentinian, she was very impressed and said that she was from Argentina…
Anyways, she loved the show. I’m often see messages on twitter from South American fans asking for a concert, so I think maybe Adam will announce a couple of shows there, like he did in South Africa, It seems the only place he still needs to go.

  27. milwlovesadam says:

South America, yes, he needs to go.

Valerie Harper was a co-star on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and then had a spin-off called Rhoda. Both shows were immensely popular here in the late 70’s and early eighties. They were seen as one of the first shows that advanced women’s rights/roles/issues. And super funny too. Both shows are pretty iconic.

Who here remembers the opening sequence of MTM where she tosses her hat up in the air? I think they made a statue of that in Minneapolis and it is near the Nicollet Mall. Also, in that sequence she is walking near a lake and tossing bread crumbs at the ducks. That was supposed to be at Lake of The Isles, which was about 1000 feet from my apartment building, when I lived there. Local lore has it that nobody could ever figure out exactly where on the lake she filmed that sequence.

That was such a beautiful place to live and work. Uptown Minneapolis, Lake and Hennepin, my corner was Lagoon and Humboldt. Does anybody here know the area?

And, it does make me sad to hear about Valerie Harper.

  28. Ron says:

  32. hello ladies, i’m just jumping in here to ask a quick question. i’ve been seeing a term, SPG, can someone tell me what it means???

  33. nkd says:
  34. nkd says:

    Hello glamberthaf28! It’s been a while!
mils coined the term SPG for some of the always front row, most every concert of GNT, and somewhat entitled and rude fans. It stands for seriously professional glamberts.
Someone correct me if I got any of this wrong.

  35. nkd thanks! have just seen that term kinda going thru my fb and twitter feed didn’t know what it meant. most of the abbreviations i see it takes me a minute to get or i have to ask lol. Thanks!

Remember some of the MTM shows, mils – particularly the clown’s funeral where she tried to suppress giggles. Liked Ed Asner, too – when he looked at MTM and said “I hate perky.” Withya, Ed.

Sad about Valerie Harper. Such a riot. Awesome story tlkc. Hkfan thanks for your concert recap and cwm you can postho all you want with all those fab pics anytime. luval that wasn’t a potential album buyer anyway so who cares about his/her opinion? We love Adam and he’s doing fine. He’s touring and another album is yet to come. We have faith. Grin

  39. dcglam says:

Ah… I have such fond memories of the Mary Tyler Moore Show — never missed an episode. The cast of characters could not be beat. I believe this is also where Betty White got her big start on TV. Valerie Harper’s character of Rhoda Morgenstern was my favorite. Yes, she will be missed.

  40. Ellessay says:

Did anyone watch A.I. tonight? They are guaranteeing a female win this year with a totally uninspiring group of guys. Couldn’t help but think of Adam–one contestant sang Rhianna’s “Stay” and another sang “Feeling Good.” I just can’t hear anyone else sing those songs but Adam. No one else comes close.

  42. aely says:

My TiVo decided to record Idol tonight and I had read some positive things so I thought I would give it a go. It is awful! What the heck, those “boys” are the best they can find. And seriously, the judges? Nicki really drives me crazy. She is annoying and in her own way almost as slimy as Steven. Just yuck. They had that one poor kid that looked like a scared chihuahua, shaking and a little nuts. Then, to have to listen to Stay and Feeling Good like I am on a bad cruise ship then forced to go to church and listen to 2 people try to out scream and out run each other. All just my opinion, I just used to so love this show. As you all have said Adam broke it. But still, you would think they could at least get some better talent. Really hope the girls are better but I am not going to find out. Kind of glad Adam isn’t on it. Jeez.

  43. Miss Chaos says:

If Adam was on the show as a judge he would have gotten blamed for every sorry singer on there. He is so lucky he didnt get the job, Thank God. Not one good or interesting person on there. How am I going to make it thru the show. But Paul Jolly is really cute, he confuses me tho, if you know what I mean Grin , but I hope I dont upset anyone I do love Nicki on the show, I couldnt stand her before the show, but she is entertaining. Keith is starting to go to the Stephen Tyler route I am afraid. But crap, do some of the guys need stylin!!!!

  44. ultimathule says:

The show is a drag – no sense of fun at all – just grim. Barely watched it tonight – probably won’t tomorrow – have no real interest in any of the contestants.

  45. luval says:

Idol was pathetic last night and the night before IMO. No one with showmanship, no one with excitement. I’ll probably keep watching, though. Might as well torture myself. I wish Vote for the Worst had influence. We’d have Jonette and Charlie going through. And don’t get me started on the judges. What happened to Keith? Standing ovation by all the judges for the “think I can fly” guy?? Now I feel better starting my day with a good rant!

  46. Kradamour says:

On another thread HKFan (I think) posted that she was nervous before the concert, including for Adam’s sake, wanting him to do well.

Got me to thinking. I am nervous at every Adam concert/radio thingy that I attend. I don’t and haven’t attended many concerts in my life except for classical/baroque/renaissance music – I do love me some harpsichord! – but I know that I have never been nervous in any way prior to any of them.

Adam concerts are entirely different. I always feel when I am there that the concert is an obligation as well as a gift; that Adam gives 125% but that he is looking to us for the energy that he will need. Especially during the Glamnation tour, there were some audiences that didn’t really come through – not a lot, but we noticed them and talked about it and even sometimes blamed them.

Someone somewhere posted (sorry, the concert threads are running together!) that she wondered if other performers cared so much about their fans. I think GaGa does, but she’s nuts (IMHO). I’ll just never forget Adam at Ste Agathe sitting on the edge of the stage leaning out into the audience so obviously so delighted to be with his fans again for the first time in quite a while. He had missed us! Not just missed performing, but had missed US. And when the concert was over, and when we were soaked in the rain, he did that bizarre but adorable parental thing that he does, told us to leave in an orderly manner, go home, get warm, and that he loved us. As trite as that could have been, Adam was totally sincere and caring. Watching the DVD, I was struck again by Adam’s tone of voice when he told us that he loved us; it was the tone of voice one uses when speaking to an individual, not to a crowd.

This is getting long and rambly so I’ll stop, but when I dress for an Adam concert I am dressing for a date with Adam, not in a creepy way, but in the sense that we (and a few hundred/thousand friends lol) are going out together for a shared and fairly intimate evening, and that there is a standard to be met. I know that I have never felt that way for anyone else’s performance.

And of course there are also the nerves from wanting our boy to do good, and that is something that I have not felt for other performers, either. I do want them to put on a great show, but that is a selfish interest: I want to attend a great show and get value for my ticket price. But I want Adam to put on a great show because I want him to be proud of it, and I want all the haters to be blown away.
    Bomb

  47. milwlovesadam says:

Krdas, you are a natural writer. I love your post so much. I just popped in before work, and this made me feel good.

Idol stinks this year, and yes, I’m also glad he’s not connected to it.

I’m not liking that “SPG” is a viral term. I don’t want to be associated with any negativity.

Shoot. I guess that’s the risk of posting anywhere.

  48. HK fan says:

It was me Kradamour that said about being nervous for myself and for Adam.
I agree with all you just said, I have been to quite a few concerts over the years, (Muse, Beiber, Kylie, Scissor sisters, Human League just in the last couple of years or so)and I have never been even the tiniest bit nervous to go to them….
    Its definitely an Adam thing!
