Adam is continuing his “We Are Glamily” mini-tour of Asia as March begins. This tour will proceed to Russia and Eastern Europe later this month, wrapping up in Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Above we see Adam in one of the iconic poses of the tour thus far, at the third Tokyo show on February 21 (photo by @letmelive81). We will see what the rest of the tour holds in store for us this month, and perhaps we will start to get some idea as to Adam’s plans for the upcoming spring and summer as well. Enjoy the chat!

    Yes, even though we didn’t get a tour, those little informal radio events were special. So glad that I was able to share one with adamized and dcglam and ulti, and that so many of us did take advantage of those opportunities. I remember you agonizing a little bit over the one in Chicago, mils, and it was early days and we were still expecting a tour and your choice to not go made a lot of sense in that context.

    I wonder if Adam will even bother with the little radio events next time, or perhaps only a few in the markets that have shown him a return on that investment. It was clearly work for him, but he had on his game face and gave it his best as he always does.

    Still catching up…just saw that cher caught the flu at her party?!? Is there no justice in the world?!? How crappy is that?!?!
    Sending all good thoughts to all of my fellows who have been struck down with whatever…thank goodness we have Adam to entertain us and keep our spirits up, and that he is out and about and not sequestered away working on his new album, so that cwm can find all the pretty for us! (Damn, girl, 495 tabs? How big is your monitor???)

    HK Fan – you must be jumping out of your skin by now! SOOO excited for you!

    Last time we were together was in London at Queenbert. I’m so happy that you get to go to a WAG show – you are our first WAG attendee from ALL! I know that you’ll represent us well! Shout out a few screams, wooots, and hollers for me if you don’t mind. Big Smile

    Axxxel, asifclueless, LadyNorth, aely, and riskylady (and anyone else I missed)… I’m also so excited for all of you that you get to see this show over the next couple of weeks. What a thrill for you! The show is amazing and just keeps getting better and better. It’s gonna be exhilarating.

    (But I’m not gonna lie, I’m also feeling very jealous! Sigh. Good thing I went to the Phoenix show. It was awesome, we had a blast, and it will have to hold me over. Big Smile)

    Haha Kradamour – my modus operandi is to open links as they come up in my twitter feed, a bunch at a time, then leave them open until I can go back and decide what to do with them (save them or not, post them here or not). There was such an avalanche of the pretty coming out of Japan and China that it was all I could do to keep up with twitter and I never had the time to go through all of my tabs. Finally yesterday I realized that I had 495 tabs open across 4 windows (215 windows in one tab alone! OOF!)! (Re: my monitor size, only one page shows on the monitor at a time, but the tabs for each of the links runs across the top of my browser.)

    Speaking of the pretty, I posted more pretty (and I mean REALLY PRETTY!) on the Oksana and Nagoya threads last night. Be sure to check them out, too, everyone!

    About those radio events, Krad – tried to add them up on that list (think by lambosessed) – but gave up. There were a lot. Were they a waste of his time? As far as radio play, guess they were, but he did meet some influential people, I would expect.

    Can’t see him doing that again when the third album emerges. Hope he’ll be in a position in the future when they’ll be calling him.

    The turtle made it to Iowa. Thanks Jlurks. It had to use a sled I’m sure as we have about 10 inches of snow on the ground yet and more on the way tonight and tomorrow. I think we need to have a serious talk with Mother Nature. I am also glad that I decided to go to shows in Des Moines and then Phoenix. I’d love to see the new improved show he’s doing now in Asia. I’m optomistic that we’ll see him this year sometime here in the states. And if Queen and Adam comes to the US or Canada this little older than 29 lady will find a way to attend. Yes

    That Nagoya audience was phenomenal – they bounced all the way through most of the intro! Adam looked especially happy that night, and Stay/Underneath was knee-weakening. Had to make my third MP3 of it LOL.

    Adam is 2,500 people away from 1.9 million Twitter followers, and his Weibo followers went up over 2,000 in the past few days and is now at more than 198k.

    China is not a market for music sales due to rampant piracy, that’s not how the artists make their living or fortunes there: corporate gigs, commercial performances and endorsements are the main revenue streams (Adam’s RIFT endorsement value easily exceeds any of his corp gigs or concerts).

    Sony Music is doing just fine in China, and there’re ways for record companies to make money in China, in addition to those meager CD sales. For instance, those major music sites do pay an one-time fee to the labels for the rights of the songs, and you can’t illegally download any ringtones from China Mobile (“As of November 2012, China Mobile is the world’s largest mobile phone operator by subscribers with about 703 million”), and reportedly its annual ringtone (彩铃) sales are well over a billion (Sony has sold lots and lots of Adam’s ringtones, especially the night of the Voice of China performance and after…).

    I am sorry but I have to say these lady contestants on Idol are not entertaining me. There is absolutely no excitement in these people. Some nice voices but they leave me flat. It is one big bore-fest.

    luval, they have cleansed anyone interesting from the show yet again. They got rid of the best guys and gals last week. I honestly don’t think they hear what we hear. Slezak and Cantiello as well as Lyndsey Parker all said this this week. I just don’t like anyone well enough to have any anticipation for their performances.

    I swear, I think Adam really did kill Idol. At least for me.

    mils, it’s ok for you to post a link if you like. I doubt that I will ever post anything on MJs again, for one thing I may be permanently banned after the twitter fight last summer, and for another I just don’t feel like posting there again. I also think that MJ might feel I am promo-ing my own site there if I posted a link.

    Thanks Ron! I am a bad fan for not knowing that. I often find myself spending much more time on the mechanics of running the site updating threads etc and don’t take a lot of time to actually watch performances.

    I was interested in Idol but, after tonight, I’m losing interest fast.

    I agree with luval. A few nice voices but nothing very exciting.

    Then again, with experience comes confidence and those going forward will likely improve.

    I’m going to keep watching for another couple of weeks and take it from there.

    It’s odd but I’m not a big fan of those AOL Session videos for Trespassing. I watched them once and didn’t go back to them. I guess I’m the bad fan here.

    The AOL Sessions for FYE? I downloaded them and played them many, many times. I still play them occasionally. I wore out “Strut”. Big Smile

    Maybe I should watch the Trespassing AOL Session’s again and see if I can appreciate them more than I did the first time.

    eywflyer, Ron, Adam’s AOL sessions are now on VEVO and form part of the videos that he can derive income from by getting views. It’s a shame that people copy them on Youtube because those views take away from the official ones that earn money (and Billboard counts). It’s like a new kind of pirating. There are so many copies of Adam’s videos on fan channels, as well as just the tracks off his albums.

    ulti – the reference riskylady made to “someone in Singapore has a better viewpoint of Adam” is in response to the articles about the complaint by the church association that a venue owned by a church hosting a concert by a openly gay man. The concert in Singapore hasn’t happened yet.

    Does anyone know if the youku vids from China have been converted to you-tube? I have a hard time watching them, they are very slow, and I can’t always download them to realplayer. The 85 minute concert just downloads six minutes. Thanks
