adam-tokyo-feb-21
Adam is continuing his “We Are Glamily” mini-tour of Asia as March begins. This tour will proceed to Russia and Eastern Europe later this month, wrapping up in Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Above we see Adam in one of the iconic poses of the tour thus far, at the third Tokyo show on February 21 (photo by @letmelive81). We will see what the rest of the tour holds in store for us this month, and perhaps we will start to get some idea as to Adam’s plans for the upcoming spring and summer as well. Enjoy the chat!

Got a response from my hosting provider, they confirmed everything is configured correctly with the site. There is nothing else they can to do but wait for the DNS change to propagate to all the internet service providers around the world. I can see some incoming traffic still going to the old site server, so unfortunately we are split into two parallel chat threads at the moment. Everyone should be directed here to the new site within 24-48 hours.

If you know folks stuck on the old site at the moment, please email them the DNS flush instructions I posted on the previous page. You can also have them email me directly using the site admin link. That will forward emails to me even if they are still on the old version of the site.

If you posted a comment earlier today that has now mysteriously vanished, that comment was posted on the old server, and your internet connection has since been redirected to the new server. I am unable to retrieve those lost comments from the old server (since I can’t access it anymore except at a administrative level that doesn’t allow direct access to the site content), so you will need to repost your lost comments here.

  8. ultimathule says:

Thanks, eywflyer – and all who have a hand in bringing us this wonderful site to enjoy. Deeply appreciated.

A short tv clip from Russia

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9znkQzCTFw&feature=youtu.be

Have seen several tweets this morning mentioning the voice and Adam Lambert…..Wonder how Adam Levine feels when so many people get hisname wrong.

  10. nkd says:

My devices keep switching between versions of the site!
I posted in the parallel thread about the upgrade.

eta eywflyer I also copied your post from the previous page with your instructions.

  11. ultimathule says:

Well, HK fan, serves Levine right – when a contestant on The Voice sang WWFM, Levine said to him that you probably sang it better than the original vocalist. Apparently he’d never heard Adam’s recording – I think it was Brian Mansfield? who said somebody get Levine a radio. Anyhow, all hell broke loose and Levine got an earful – Adam had to quiet the troops down.

That Russian TV clip is wild – what’s the sandwich doing in the middle of it – lol?

  12. eywflyer says:

Here is a webpage that gives instructions on how to flush DNS for a number of operating systems. Nkd if you still have access to the old site, could you post this link in the March thread over there?

    http://www.whatsmydns.net/flush-dns.html

Once the DNS cache is flushed from your computer, it should query the DNS nameserver to find the IP address (physical server location) of the ALL site. I believe that most nameservers are showing the updated IP address now, so at that point they should be able to access the new site.

  13. cwm says:

Yay – I’m on the new site for both devices. Thanks bunches for everything you do, eywflyer. It is MUCH appreciated!!

  17. nkd says:

I’m sorry eywflyer, by the time I saw your post all of my devices were on the new site. I was actually unable to load the site at all for a while. Hopefully everyone will be switched soon if not already.

  18. LadyNorth says:

Hi everyone (mostly in deep sleep atm)

I’m at home, since yesterday. I am having a WAGlag, like most fans who were at the Helsinki concert. So I keep posting stuff in Helsinki thread – a wonderful recap from atopia! Working on my own recap too.

  19. LadyNorth says:

I see all the eywflyer‘s posts, so I guess I am on the new site… Smile

Promo video for this year’s Life Ball. Adam is so articulate he will probably show up in something similar, with video from prior years. Check out the spokespeople! Big names. Educated guess: Adam will perform not model but I can’t see him not dressing up for this.

A lottery for 3750 tickets. Usual number of applications: 60,000. A set number of tickets at half price for people who are prepared to meet special costume requirements ensures that the event is super exotic and OTT glamorous. The rest of the attendees are black tie. I would love to know what the costume requirements are.

  21. TLKC says:

Hello glamberthaf28! I missed the fact that mils gave you a bracelet source yesterday. I did get an answer from tchrsd so it will pass it on. She gave me the first link. I added another. Maybe you can get a couple of quotes and decide. I seem to remember pricing for minimums of 50/100/500 BY SIZE.

We stuck to S/M/L sizes and the cost was approxumately $1.40 each. Tchrsd set up a PayPal account and we all put the money into it. Might be easier to buy and have people payout at the event but it saves you fronting the cost.

Ticket and costume info for this year’s ball. Yikes! I wonder if Adam will be the international star for the VIP lounge? The VIP ticket owners of seem to be able to by-passs the lottery. Price 3,000 euros. Something tells me Ron would be a contender in the Style Ticket category.

ETA: regular tickets were sold between March 4-14 and are all gone. VIP tickets are side rooms and a new concept. They seem to be designed for people like us. LOL! The price of 3,000 euros buys a sumptuous dining experience for 12 people. Approximately $250 euros each for the experience. Anyone in? Some of us have paid more for concert tickets.

This would involve flights, hotels and major evening-wear investment. Ahhhh if only I could win the lottery. They tell me you have to be a ticket, though.

  23. TLKC says:

Ripped from the Live Ball Site:

    What is the Style Bible?

Every year a new Style Bible is created in order to inspire Life Ball guests’ creativity and to give orientation for the perfect outfit according to the actual motto. On

    http://www.stylebible.org

this theme is made alive in an imaginative and sumptuous way to foster most opulent costumes and styling that make ticket holders not only guests, but active participants of the ball. Furthermore, you can find useful hints for an individual look and a list of providers for fancy make-up, costume and wig rental, textiles and special accessories.

The creation of a stunning costume for the Life Ball should be understood as a signal against narrow-mindedness and conservatism – your appearance is supposed to be spectacular and opulent. Your Life Ball styling then exerts influence on the emotion of viewers and the media and gives a visible sign in the fight against HIV and AIDS.

  24. LadyNorth says:

Adam in Vienna. With some guy Uwe, if the comments are correct he is a singer too… When is he coming (going, from my perspective Wink ) home?

    https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=525533787486056&set=a.185946511444787.35695.182299511809487&type=1&theater

  25. TLKC says:

My bet is Vienna for only a couple of days. Do you think he will stop in the UK for a day? Shoshanna hinted at something and so did Johnny. I don’t think that the Life Ball would be it. Did you notice that Brian May is releasing a single with that Kerry Ellis? It was announced yesterday. He hasn’t ruled out a bigger tour with her, either.

I honestly think that WWRY and Queen Extravaganza schedules preclude any Queenbert concerts for 2013 (not to mention Adam’s recording plans) but I am still bummed by this info.

  26. TLKC says:

Big day today. Case before SCOTUS matters tremendously to the American LGBTQ community. Really, it matters to the country.

    http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2013/03/26/175338847/monumental-gay-marriage-cases-could-set-law-for-centuries

I am going to be hooked to PBS Newshour for the next week. Also, Dan Choi’s case is coming before the courts and should not get lost in the shuffle. I retweet as much as I can of his output. (He actually started following me a few weeks ago.) This morning Dan brought donuts to the people camped out in line for the SCOTUS case.
    This is so YAY!

  27. TLKC says:

For mils and anyone else interested in Adam’s little sweetie, there is a UNICEF donation being made in Sauli’s name on his birthday on March 28th. They are up to 1136 euros. A nice gesture if you are interested.

Off to work now. Have a great day everyone!

  28. luval says:

Adam’s hair in that pic Lady North posted is the highest I’ve ever seen. Love it!

  29. nkd says:

    It is very high luval!
I bet he gets a haircut as soon as he gets home!

So at least we know yes, he is in Vienna.

  30. Calgary says:

Did you read the style guide? That Life Ball is made for Adam!

  31. gammaglam says:

Hello all you fine folk! Jlurksacto, I have a proposal for you (not that kind!) think you have my email address, (knitted hat lady!) please get in touch and I will tell you about it. Also, I spent an hour on ticketmaster yesterday trying to buy tickets to San Diego show in July, and it seems to have problems with Canadian buyers. Does anyone here have 2 good tickets that they want to sell? Thanks!

  32. ultimathule says:

If it’s the same guy I’m looking at on Wiki, that Uwe Kroeger has an impressive resume – sung roles in Les Miz, Phantom, Godspell, Rocky Horror, Cabaret, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ SS, Sound of Music – and he’s gay and in a longish relationship. Born in 1964.

Will let you know in a couple days when my other friend

  36. luval says:

TLKC….that promo video of Vienna is amazing. I want to go!

  37. retjenny says:

It seems to me that Burning Man and Life Ball are somewhat similar! Burning Man – Heat and sand and a whole lot of sass.
Life ball- silk and lace and dripping with class!

  38. ultimathule says:

Not overly disappointed about lack of a Queen gig. Feel he’s done that – proved that he can sing as well as the best of them (better, actually) – see no U.S. advantage for his bringing it here as there’s no big demand that I can see – except for his fans – for it. Would prefer he push forward into newer and more exciting territory. And don’t like the echoes of “frontman” for an old band, as great as it is. Want his unique take on music, not somebody else’s.

  39. luval says:

I see Queen extravaganza is all during August. But what is WWRY that TLKC mentioned?

I still would love to see Adam/Queen…just one show!I think the public is ready for Queen here. He certainly can fit it in somewhere. I think eywflyer is correct when he mentioned no new music for 12-16 months.

Here are 2013 tours that I found:

Foo Fighters Red Hot Chillipeppers Foster The People
    Bruce Springsteen Rammstein AWOLNATION
    Staind Seether Avril Lavigne
    Mumford & Sons Foreigner Kamelot
Avenged Sevenfold Rise Against Kid Rock
Linkin Park Judas Priest Gavin DeGraw
Blink 182 Bryan Adams Rolling Stones
The Black Keys The Darkness Bush
    Nickelback Chevelle Burton Cummings

  40. luval says:

retjenny…Hi..that is very cute…I prefer the silk, lace & class!!

  41. retjenny says:

Me too Luval but Burning Man is all we can afford Frown
Amazing how BB would fit well with either one! He has what you call “Sassy Class”

  42. ultimathule says:

That Live Ball is frightening – everyone’s so spectacularly gorgeous.

  43. luval says:

Blast from the past…have always loved this….

eta: except for the Drake part. Smile

  44. luval says:

lol, ultimathule, I am not afraid! Wink

  45. luval says:

Mention of Adam in the third paragraph.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/26/arts/music/emblem3-at-irving-plaza.html?_r=0

“The closest the genre has come to minting a modern forward-looking pop star (not counting Ms. Clarkson, whose cutting edge has been sharpened by others) is Adam Lambert, though during his time on “Idol” all he wanted to do was sing like Freddie Mercury. “

  46. ultimathule says:

Somebody should send Jon Caramanica a TR CD – he’s up there with Levine.

  47. gammaglam says:

Cher! Thank you! Look forward to hearing from you here. Have to see him live once more!

  48. ultimathule says:
  49. turquoisewaters says:

Wow, I’m jealous. Timberlake sold 968,000 units in the first week.

  50. ultimathule says:

Yes – the appearances of JT all over the place – great push for the album. Still not very good – WSJ and WaPo – waded through it – like Mirrors – but that’s about it. (S&T is one of those tracks immediately zap.) Got a second-rate voice.
