! My days are full of all kinds of planning and preparing for it. Many people have got themselves black/yellow outfits or something else fancy. No yellow for me…
I promised mils some update of the situation re concert in Finland. So this is my pre-pre recap
Advertising: There are no billboards, only the posters fans have spread around. But there has been paper ads in some free daily newspapers and magazines lately. Also all the main radio stations have talked about Adam’s concert and organized contests for winning M&Gs. I wasn’t lucky, but I know “online” most of the people who won.
5×2 M&Gs were given in a competition (1×2 every week day). They had google translated Adam’s songs into Finnish and they read some sentences, 2 people had to guess which song it was. You had to call there first, and they picked up two people to compete every day. Another competition was just a lottery, and then the third one was to find two best writings about being Adam’s fan and why she/he should be the one who wins the M&G. Hundreds of writings, some of them were very touching personal stories how much Adam has changed their lives, given them strength to be themselves and helped through difficult times.
She is one who won M&G – probably one of most 29 years old fan in Finland

About the happening itself: There is a pre-party on Thursday, first dinner (50 people including me, riskylady & aely) and after that nightclubbing in the gay bar. Some crazy young peeps begin the line outside the venue on Thu evening, they’ll stay over night there. And it will be almost -15 of Celsius during the night, they are nuts!! On Friday those of us who have the VIP tix are served fixed seats/tables buffet before the concert. I’m organizing an international glambert table there. And after the concert itself is the official after party at the nightclub, by the organizer. They are giving hints maybe Adam & Sauli could be there too. So there’s a lot to recap… To be continued

I know some of you have been asking about me so I figured I would pop in and update you!
I’m feeling much better. Thankfully, phase 1 of my treatment, which involved 19 weeks of infusions is now behind me. I am now in phase 2, which entails infusions every 3 weeks till September. It is much more manageable.
Basically, breast cancer sucks on every level. I do not recommend it!!!!!
Onto much better subjects…Adam. I must confess that I have been somewhat remiss in reading all the threads from his world tour. I have been checking in periodically, and watching some of the vids and loving his performances. Just when you think he cannot get better…he does!
If I can work out some logistical issues, I am hoping to go to San Diego. It will be a year from London, and those AMAZING Queen concerts. After this year, I will really need an Adam fix!!

This is my FIRST Adam concert (his own) and I could say I have prepared myself for this for months with other Finnish fans and a big handful of people all over Europe and some further away countries. I’m so glad I found the Finnish fandom before the concert, because flailing and waiting together is so much fun as you all well know
There are many people who haven’t seen Adam before, because his Glam Nation concert sold out in minutes. Younger ones can’t afford traveling abroad for concert. But there’s a bunch of fans over thirties (to sixties), who are very active organizing things and traveled to Poland see Queenbert. Active fandom also organizes events for glamberts between concerts – there have been parties like Halloween party and Trespassing album party, cruise etc. And they socialize in Twitter, but it’s too fast&short for me, I’d prefer this kind of sand box 
I’m 29 and slow, lol.
I won’t let anything to spoil my experience. Past two weeks have been difficult, because my long time guy told me he wants to end our relationship
After crying my eyes out for days I’ve been trying to concentrate on happier mood for Helsinki adventure. This is sad and it will hit me hard after the concert, but right now it’s good to have something else to think about. I’m sure being in Arena with nearly 12000 other people and that great show will make me flail crazy. And I’m so looking forward meeting aely and riskylady and keep them informed about everything 
Riskyhubby and Aely’s dad are kindly guided to some nice pub while we flail on dinner with 50 other ladies

LadyNorth , so sorry to hear about your newest set of troubles, but “this too shall pass” and what better to occupy your thoughts than an epic Adam concert and all those great Glamberts around to wrap you up in lots of warmth and love. I don’t know aely personally (she is an ALLer, so she has to be fine, right?), but no one does it better than riskylady and her lovely riskyhubby. You will be in good hands. And you are our conduit to the concert so you have all of our thoughts, love, and flailing, to carry you through, so what could be a better support than that?

I guess I will have use for all the shoulders, Adam’s included (in a metaphoric way I guess) in the future… I haven’t told my family yet, it’d be too exhausting to go through all the details now and handle my mom’s reaction – she likes him very much, we have spent a lot of time together in the summer house. I’ll tell my mom on Sunday, after we have enjoyed our Il Divo concert. Yes, my Helsinki “fun” package includes Il Divo concert too! Same Arena, two days after Adam.

When I run out of words riskylady and aely can continue… But I can give a larger sight what it’s like in a tight foreign fandom – maybe there’s similarities to fandoms in Asia we have heard about (not China though 
). I really hope there will be press in the concert – they always write about his popularity here, but not about the reasons why! It’s time for them to see and hear Adam performing. I don’t want to be ashamed of our press after all those great articles from Asia. But I don’t remember seeing many concert reviews in press about any artist – they are usually short articles about someone performing and amount of audience and how the audience reacted. We’ll see!

Lady North – I want to echo what rs said. I’m so sorry to hear about your troubles with your guy. I remember well meeting both of you in London. Be kind to yourself and let the changes unfold at a pace that works for you. I’m glad that you have the joy of an Adam concert with all of your new-found friends to lift you and carry you forward through these coming days. Know that we are with you (and riskylady and aely and agathe.hb) in spirit all this week and we are sending an express package of love to Finland.

Yes, LadyNorth, I am going to San Diego. I have a family wedding in New York on July 6th and I was hoping that maybe Adam would be performing somewhere in North America while I would be on that side of the pond. So when I saw that he would be in San Diego just a few days before I needed to be in New York, I jumped on the opportunity, and before the evening was over cher had gotten me tickets. I mean what is a hop to Cali from New York if I am already on the continent, right?
Who knows, maybe there will be another show on the East Coast before my trip is over?
rs – I am so excited that the timing and geography worked out for you and that you are able to come to San Diego! How great is that??! It will be so wonderful to see you again.
It’s amazing to me that within one 24-hour period, this huge group of us from all over the place went from having no particular plans in early July to (a) commitments made to get to San Diego come hell or high water, (b) concert tickets purchased, (c) hotel rooms reserved, (d) flights reserved/checked, and (e) party plans underway. Something like that would never come together so rapidly in any other part of my life, and our collective passion and dedication never ceases to amaze and delight me. Love you all!
glambotgram – that “best performances” list was organized on twitter, by @islandgirljams I think. She took nominations over twitter from fans; maybe there was also a vote, but I don’t remember for sure. I know that it was done well before the WAG tour began though – maybe back in December. Looks like when @Spindleshay updated the playlist, she added a couple of WAG tour videos to it (Stay/Underneath and Chokehold).
cwm, are you staying with your brother or at a hotel? I don’t have my flight or hotel arranged yet. Too many other things are still up in the air. Thoe only two definite things are the concert and the wedding. Oh and getting to Toronto after the wedding, so I will definitely meet ron!

Northern Spirit and I just realized yesterday that we are leaving for San Diego on June 29th, EXACTLY the same day we left for London last year. It’s turning into an annual pilgrimage.

Yo! Post Ho! Where are you going? You bring so much lovely info, cwm, that no one will never worry about how much you post.
I would like to know where everyone is staying before we pick a hotel. Right now we are leaning towards the Hilton Del Mar, which is only a 6-minute walk from the park. The room rate is $158 per night for two queen beds. Traffic and parking at state fairs can be a nightmare and there are two of us to share the bill. I heard through the grapevine that riskylady has chosen this hotel but we will have to wait until she completes the all-important Helsinki concert trip to find out for sure.
Would like to be in the same hotel as the majority, though. Those late night patio convos can’t be beat.

Well, I went looking and I found the pic you were talking about glambotgram. In the pic you showed, Johnny is eying the camera and Adam knows it. In this pic they are taking it to the max for the camera, imho. Their relationship is like the one he has with Terrence. Terrance said it would be like kissing his brother. I won’t post it if you don’t like it but I don’t think it’s anything to worry about.
