Adam is continuing his “We Are Glamily” mini-tour of Asia as March begins. This tour will proceed to Russia and Eastern Europe later this month, wrapping up in Helsinki, Finland on March 22. Above we see Adam in one of the iconic poses of the tour thus far, at the third Tokyo show on February 21 (photo by @letmelive81). We will see what the rest of the tour holds in store for us this month, and perhaps we will start to get some idea as to Adam’s plans for the upcoming spring and summer as well. Enjoy the chat!

    Hi!

I want to say how thrilled I am for everyone who will be going to Del Mar! Four months may sound like a long time to wait but, before you know it, the next thing you’ll all be on your way!

Loved the seating map that showed the exact view of where you’ll be standing for the whole show sitting. All venues should provide the same thing. If I was able to go, I thought Terrace B was the perfect spot.

I’m going to do something and I wonder if others might want to follow suit.

Even though I’m not able to be there, I’m going to buy a ticket. The back of the arena seats selling for $21.00 isn’t going to set me back too much. I want the ticket sales for this concert to go through the roof! I want other North American venues to take notice and realize that Adam Lambert is a huge draw. It’s all about money so I’m going to make this gesture to try to help, and hopefully ensure, that this concert turns out to be a big monetary success and more venues will want to hire him! Here! Closer to “home”.

Grrrrrrrr! Stupid, blockheaded old fart Queen fans. Prejudice is alive and well in Kiev.

NO ONE can tell me that Adam is more flamboyant than Freddie Mercury! And another mistake, Freddie never got a chance to sing TSMGO live. Stupid f*cks.

  13. jlurksacto says:

    Okay, watch the blood pressure

Grrrrrrrr! Stupid, blockheaded old fart Queen fans

Want to see you in July!

  14. loveroftalent says:

@risktlady…I could add a few more adjectives to describe those old farts…I wasn;t going to read it, but I did, because this is the crap that Adam has to deal with on a daily basis. It is so unfair to such a big-hearted non-judgemental guy…It actually hurt to read what they said.

On the other hand, he has us that love him so much, and he knows that…

  15. aely says:

Really, it is not Queen fans, it is Kiev and their rampant homophobia. Many gay pride events were canceled last year due to violence. That is why they are eager to say Freddie is okay because he was closeted. They throw in George and Elton because they only did tributes, not full on concerts and tours, and to make them seem less homophobic. Notice they do say they can’t criticize his vocal.

Some “hardcore” Queen fans will NEVER accept anyone else. Until Adam, that was me, but largely he was more accepted as the concerts went on. It was actually funny to watch them fall onto Adam’s side on the Queen website. One diehard, my favorite quote on the blog, said “nooooo, he is turning everyone!” That poster keeps up the digs but is so much less hateful.

I also agree that Freddie was way more out there than Adam has ever been. Ballet shoes, tights, unitard, white short shorts, etc. I think, in a funny way, he was lucky to live in the time he did with his stage persona. I think we have come a long way since then but it is funny (ie, sad) to think Freddie,in lots of ways, had it easier. Freddie didn’t want to deal with it and didn’t have to. Today he couldn’t avoid it.

It is just easier to hate and hide behind Freddie’s legacy. Adam has Brian and Roger in his corner and tons of other fans around the world so, as angry as it makes me to read, Adam wins.

  16. loveroftalent says:

@aely Thanks for post..I makes me feel better. I was thinkinh the same thing about Freddie..seeing some of the pictures of what he wore, but noone cared…They just loved him…I want that for Adam..

This is from Russia but it is the same mindset in
    Kiev.

    Unbelievable and ridiculous

  18. riskylady says:

Oh, aely, I know you are right. It’s just so aggravating to see the president of the local Queen fan club make these statements and have them reported in the press just before Adam’s concert, and especially after the crowd in Kiev loved the Queen concert and even chanted his name before WWTLF. There is a lot of homophobia in eastern Europe, I hope Adam is careful. Especially since the article seems to broadcast he is planning a walking tour of Kiev. There have been many unprovoked assaults of gays in those countries reported over here lately and he doesn’t have prestigious Queen with him. Can.not.wait for him to be safely in Finland.

  20. cwm says:

So disheartening to read that ridiculous homophobic bullcrunky coming out of Russia and Ukraine. It’s interesting that Adam and his management chose to go there – they must have confidence that he has a fan base and can fill a venue, despite the rampant homophobia.

There are a couple of interesting things about this exchange about a fan trying to get Adam booked at the Milwaukee Pridefest (mils!)

    http://www.facebook.com/PrideFestMKE/posts/10151364163173882?notif_t=like

    1. The Pridefest person says that Adam costs “half a million.” True, exaggeration, or assumption? Did they actually check or are they just tossing that figure out there randomly to make the point that they can’t afford him?

    2. Whatever his regular appearance fee actually is, I wonder if Adam would consider lowering it for something like a Pride event.

    3. mils – team up with that Jennifer Svec gal and raise some cash to get Adam there for next year! The Pridefest person didn’t rule it out! Big Smile

  23. TLKC says:

That article is hilarious in places. I leave it to mils for a dissertation on the “stimulates the box spring water in bottles”.

No worries, it is negative enough for the reader to figure out the writer’s biases.

  24. TLKC says:

RE: Adam’s fees – half a million does seem high for one event but might as well start high. If you don’t ask, you won’t get. Also, Adam can fill 7,000 seat venues much more easily in a non-tour year than in a tour year. Exclusivity is a plus for most venues. Promoters and management know that big fans will travel to the artist in an off-year.(Look at Adam in Ste-Agathe – could it be any more “hell’s half-acre?) Adam’s managment will try to make the most of scarcity.

Cost is a huge factor. Adam has 16 people with him on this tour and he has to pay them, feed them, accommodate them, transport major equipment etc. If he was willing to do a stripped down “Phil Phillips-style” show, he could charge a lot less but he isn’t (YAY!)

Very possibly, artists might present higher fees for stuff they don’t want to do. Adam may be asked to do Pride Events on a shoe-string by a lot of cities as a good will gesture, because he is gay. I can imagine his management being unsentimentally annoyed about that.

Other factors: he might charge less for New York than Milwaukee or Toronto because of the exposure factor and media opportunities.

Plus a lot of other interesting considerations.

ETA: not trying to rain on mils parade. I bet Adam is open to one Pride event a year, so starting the ball rolling now is actually a good idea. Milwaukee Pride 2014 Kickstarter anyone?

  25. TLKC says:

“The survey of 1,600 Russians, conducted in February”

In Europe and North America, the things we would ask: who conducted the survey? how were the respondents chosen? what were the questions? In Russia, not so much.

Since the poll reports that attitudes towards LGBTQ people have become increasingly negative, we have to ask how did people who were more open before suddenly change their minds? That is a very unlikely trend.

It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that the poll was commissioned by interested parties to support the upcomong legislative move.

Not saying that this is good; just saying that the general public may not be as hardened on the issue as the poll presents.

  26. TLKC says:

Has anyone chosen a hotel yet? I would like to stay at the same hotel, if we can. Ste-Agathe revisited.

I even have a bottle of black nail polish.

And a dark blue one too.

  32. milwlovesadam says:

That article is hilarious in places. I leave it to mils for a dissertation on the “stimulates the box spring water in bottles”.

    Hilarious indeed.

However, I do believe that it really means ” spring water is good for the voice box.” Yup. As a speech therapist, indeed, milk ( mucuous producing ) is not a preferred beverage prior to singing. But, plenty of water is good for ze pipes.

One shot and the whiskey goes down. Just like Gaga and Adam recording Fever. I don’t think energy drinks are good for anybody, however, with their travel schedule I don’t blame them for an energy drink shot before going on stage. As long as they don’t do that incredibly stupid and dangerous thing where you mix the energy drink with booze. It literally kills people.

So, a milk bath would be very good for the skin, the soul, and the bath helper. I stick to my jobs list previously posted.

However, with all that cold and snow, what they probably need is chicken soup. I’ll send some over right now. BRB. Oksana , girl, get cooking too. Bowl Liquor BRB

  33. milwlovesadam says:

So, in watching the Kiev DVD, are all 250,000+ fans anti-gay? Anti Queenbert? Guess those were fake arms during Radio GaGa up in the air waving and clapping? Guess it was all fake when they were chanting his name in unison?

Yup. They really hated him in Kiev with Queen.

    Jeez.

  34. milwlovesadam says:

TeeHee. I am so bad. I simply must be dealt with.

Maybe they’ll be too tired tomorrow to attach the GB Reducing Electrodes and Battery Powered Fanny Pack..

Quick, everybody, hold hands, and start chanting, wishing, singing Fever….

They have the answer. THIS is where it went!!

    From today’s featured article

The Icelandic Phallological Museum, in Reykjavík, Iceland, houses the world’s largest display of penises and penile parts. The collection of 280 specimens from 93 species includes samples from whales (pictured), seals and land mammals. Exhibits are preserved in formaldehyde and displayed in jars or are dried and hung or mounted on the museum’s walls and in display cases. The largest item on display once belonged to a blue whale; the smallest, from a hamster, can only be seen with a magnifying glass. The museum claims that it has specimens from elves and trolls that cannot be seen at all since, according to Icelandic folklore, these creatures are invisible. In July 2011, the museum obtained its first human specimen, but the preservation process did not go according to plan and the museum hopes to acquire a “younger and a bigger and better” example. Founded in 1997 by a retired teacher, it attracts thousands of visitors a year—the majority of them women—and has received international media attention. According to its mission statement, the museum aims to enable “individuals to undertake serious study into the field of phallology in an organized, scientific fashion”.
