Adam is set to take the stage at a familiar venue for his last concert of the year. The Winstar World Casino has Adam getting his fans in the party mood as we say good-bye to 2013 and hello to 2014. And what a party it will be. Many fans are coming from all over the world to celebrate. The show starts at 8 PM CST but the party will continue for years to come!

What a busy but fun week!! It all started last Monday picking up risky +1 at the airport and gearing up for a great NYE. It was fun to have them visit and my dad really enjoyed meeting up with them again. My dad and theriskys watch all the same TV shows. Lots I have never heard of BUT they did sound like some interesting shows. Great, I see more wasted TV time in my future.
Yes, I am guilty as charged and pulled out the Queen documentaries and yes opened more wine! It was a holiday eve after all. The awesome riskys brought me some wine that I really love! Already opened and enjoyed one bottle with my friend Friday night. THANK YOU!!
So, after sleeping in a bit the next day and directing theriskys downstairs for coffee and breakfast because I don’t drink coffee/have a coffee maker or really ever eat breakfast. I am an AWESOME hostess. *snerk* I did however offer some bread for toast…they wisely chose to go down to the cafe…LOL. So, after another Queen documentary it was time to head out!!
Our dinner and concert was very well covered by others so I won’t repeat that part but will say it really was a great concert. The first part of the show I literally had my elbows on the stage and he did come over and wave at me which was pretty cool. Then the Nazi security guards attacked threatening to kick people out if we didn’t move back from the stage. Literally, they were SCREAMING at us. From what I could gather the boring stupid people behind us and the “comp” people (who could care less about the show or Adam) complained that they couldn’t see. Too bad asshats, regardless of where we were no way were we sitting down. So the other side of the stage got to hang on the stage but our side had to stay back. Whatever, I got my nod from Adam and was still super close so even though it was unnecessary and stupid it didn’t change the fact that it was a great show!!
I was wearing these super high heeled over the knee boots and I just knew they were going to be trouble so I tucked an extra pair of flats in my purse just in case. Background: I had torn my ACL and really messed up my knee and had surgery but since then every so often my knee completely buckles and I just fall. So, as I was dancing at a country gay bar a couple of weeks ago my knee totally gave out and I fell hard twisting my ankle and did something to my knee. It had been feeling a little better so I tried the boots. By the end of the concert my knee was shaking so hard it was going into spasms. I made texas, nkd and adamized feel it. It was so strange! But the party must continue so I whipped those suckers off, put on the flats and off we went. Oh, that was after I was totally flirting with Rob. Yes, he was being flirty too. Is he married? Doesn’t matter it was innocent. But, I was scolded that that could have been an “in” to back stage access. HMMMM….maybe I will check it out more next time. LOL. I must say he is taller, skinnier and better looking in person. nkd and I were surprised how cute he was!
Anyway,on to the bar!! We went to Toby Keith to ignore, I mean watch the A&M game. Not even a clue who won. LOL. I was busy getting drinks and talking to another cute guy who was taken to the concert “against his will.” So, I asked what he thought and we wound up in this LONG conversation about Adam. He said he was an incredible entertainer and did not expect that from him. He said he works in the automotive industry and in a “homophobic, annoying and backward environment.” Then the discussion turned toward Queen and he said he would really be interested to see him sing with them so I told him about the YouTube videos and he said he would check it out. We were talking about Freddie and he said “Adam was down-right butch compared to Freddie” and that talent is talent and Adam got some new fans within their group. He told me it was refreshing talking about real music and is looking forward to checking him out more.
After the game, I guess, LOL. We were going to head out but realized it was only 20 minutes to midnight so decided to stay and celebrate. I went off to get a couple more drinks for toasting, there was more flirting that resulted in a free round of drinks and a fancy new paper top hat. I made it back to our group with about 3 minutes to spare. Happy New Year toast with great friends, free champagne and more amazing concerts to enjoy! Great night!
**The group of guys I was talking to at the bar also went to the concert and weren’t expecting much from him but were saying damn the dude can sing. He is a great entertainer, etc. DUH! But, I didn’t roll my eyes at them and just said “I know, right?!” Don’t worry – as soon as I walked away a full and proper eye roll was given. Honestly, it was nice to hear such great things from true non fans that just might give him a chance now.**
NKD, Adamized and I headed out the next day and had lunch at the Italian Café downstairs from my apartment, it was a beautiful day and had a great chat! We decided to meet up for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas, we were tired but had a great time.
It was really great to see all the other ALL people also and catch up in person! Can’t wait to do it all again!!

BTW: I think you and I share genetics. We have similar knee problems. Mine gives out on me too. In flats.

. Actually, we’re kind of like Adam – don’t like to be fussed over LOL.
And, we had a GREAT time at aely‘s, dinner with Dad, and loved the little deli where we had breakfast.
We felt well-cared-for and had fun, and that is the sign of a good hostess IMHO. All else is irrelevant
So sad that so many got so sick, though. Totally inexplicable that we haven’t (YET, knock on wood), but you have my complete sympathy. HATE anything involving sore throats especially. Get well wishes for all!
Asif, really sorry we couldn’t connect. Just a suggestion, maybe next time if you’re with others, just put a clue here, i.e. I’m wearing …… and sitting ….. and maybe we can just wave at you at least.
Or suggest a time and place in the venue….
But I’m happy you were there, because, wasn’t it a great concert? Adam looked so beautiful and happy, warmed my heart.
I hope I am not to late to share a few of my feelings about the concert.
First, I agree with all the terrific recaps ahead of me. I agree with the consensus that it seem to be the best concert ever. Funny, to me they all seem to be the best ever, although I also agree that Adam and the band have continue to be more cohesive and are more supportive of Adam. The band came out and the audience went wild. The Casino had provided glow thingys and also the Glowstick group were there so there couldn’t have been a more festive audience. Then
our star the one and only Mr. AFL sauntered on the stage and all HE** broke loose –
But back to the beginning We arrived at the Hampton Inn on Monday afternoon. We checked in but didn’t seen anyone else around so we decided to check out the Casino. It is about 4 miles from the hotel. When you pull up you just see a small part of it. There are probably eight difference places that you can enter the Casino. We parked and went in the first entrance available. We stopped just inside the door and found an electronic information station. There was another couple looking at it so I said let’s just wander around and see what we can find. My DH said, “but isn’t that someone we met in Del Mar. Just then around turns the little Duchess and the Duke. Of all the gin joints in all the towns……..- oops I mean of all the entrances in the joint what are the odds that we four ALLers would walk in at the same place, same time. After giggles and hugs we decided to see if we could locate where the concert would be. It is over a mile from one end of this place to the other. We were at one end – the Event Theater was at the other end.
As we were trudging along, trying to dodge the smoke (not possible) we came upon Lisa (from Florida) and her group, which brings me to my number one observation: Seeing Adam is the purpose and the highlight of the event but very close behind is the camaraderie and fun meeting the peeps that we have just know as funny names on the blog and finding out they are really peep with real names. We have been to several concerts and as it has been mentioned it seems like a family reunion.
A few of our group stayed over one more night and went back to the Casino to see the group “Train” We enjoyed them. They put on a very respectable concert but nothing like our BB. The one thing I found interesting is that their fans are as passionate about their special “snowflake” as we are about ours.
A special thanks to all that posted such great recaps. It helps sustains the wonderful memories of a wonderful experience.
Must end now as we just got a call that our Great Grandson has just made his entrance into othe world – and we are off the hospital to meet him. (Jameson David Mayfield – 8 lbs 9 oz.)
