After a week of TV appearances and a short concert, Adam will finally be playing a full set during the 2-day, 2 city multi-artist Summer Sonic Festival. Tonight (Saturday) he is the last performer on the Sonic Stage in Tokyo following Gotye and Nelly Furtado. He is scheduled to appear at 8:05 PM Tokyo time (12:05 PM in London, 7:05 AM EDT, 4:05 AM PDT) and the set will be approximately 60-70 minutes. Small digital cameras and cell phones are permitted but cannot be used to record the concerts. Let’s hope that some stealthy Japanese Glambert will find a way to record anyway!
The concert was recorded for TV by WOWOW but aired only the first three songs of the night with “Kickin’ In” starting off the show for the first time. More songs are to air on future shows.

Hi-So excited to be the first comment! The above pic is so fab. Just love Adam looking right out at us! Still prefer the dark hair, but the platinum looks quite fun. How could Adam ever look bad? Except with the goatee and mustache, and poncho!! Hope we get vids of the concert-only a few more hours.

LOVE the outfits on the vjjs! I also loved the tight and “I’m big and I’m beautiful so deal with it!” look, but these flowy tops have great movement and the stripes are in just the right place on the stage to highlight the ladies.

Loved loved loved the vid and the performance…the whole visual was just incredible, silver hair (still not loving it daily but perfect for this show!), the band was working it, the audience was waving bananas (WTF? love it!), it was full of energy and fun.

Hi guys. Out on my bike. That article freaked me last night and I decided to have an active day. Am so happy to hear that MJ included a thread for this concert, I am going over there to give her hits when I get home. I want to reward her and reinforce what she is starting to think. Adam = hits.
Not to mention that TPTB may be monitoring her site as they flounder over judge selections. Did you read her blog about internal fighting at Fox/Ido? Apparently the new corporate owner has been cut out of judge selection decisions. I did not hear NJ’s interview with Ryan yesterday but if he hasn’t heard yet, methinks the judging decisions are up in the air.
Wonder who wanted Adam – Fox or the new corporate owners? Nicki Minaj, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin are mentioned now. Some wit suggested that Ricky Martin would resolve Idol’s LGBTQ issues???!!! I don’t think he could do a better job of that than you-know-who.

Those “towels” available in Japan made me remember something. When we were in Hawaii, there was a gal who had been at the Japan GN shows, she had something similar with her. It wasn’t really a towel, but more like a thick cloth banner. She said those are a common item at concerts in Japan. You hold them up and wave them at a show, they are like a version of our cardboard signs, but don’t block fan’s vision of the stage.
